I'm also. Both lead characters are just same as in The Long Ballad. But one thing that is different is that FL…
yeah no. although she acts like a proper wife, she’s just being dutiful. she doesn’t like ml from the start or at this point yet, at least not romantically.
As someone who has read the novel, I kind of wish that box scene came later. That box scene was a significant…
I like your pov as I half shared it. The box scene is also one of my favourite part in the novel- as you mentioned it showed just when they are getting closer, they can’t helped but stay wary of each other. However, in the novel, because they’ve shared bed earlier, so the box part seems fitting for their relationship timeline. meanwhile in the drama, I think the box scene served to imply how our FL is not someone easy to bully and leads to the giving of the armrest.. and him sulking.. and him getting the “flourishing descendants” pillow.
well that’s just my pov.
the neck grab is pretty traumatising for me too. If it was me, I would’ve packed my bags and stormed off back to Yanzhou. but that’s just me being a girl born in the 20th century 🤷🏻♀️
Wei Shao advisor is the most wise and can see everything! No wonder he is the advisor! 😂
That senior actor, although he acted a lot but his most memorable character for me was Tong Ye from TPR. So whenever he’s on screen, my brain automatically goes Tong Ye.. Tong Ye.. 😵💫

according to the novel - not really. He is probably a mixed blood, hence the strength and since heterochromia is not well known at that time, he is considered weird. He learned to tame horses and some fighting skills while working for the Qiao family. Due to his talent, he will later become one of the generals. Hopefully the drama sticks to this story.
For now, it seems like a decent adaptation of the original novel. Similar with good modifications👍
I’m also satisfied with the adaptation. but I feel like the drama is moving at a much faster rate. Perhaps they will focus more on war and that his childhood crush arc. I’m glad Bi Zhi’s story is adapted well, his story is one of my favorite in the novel and he is exactly how I pictured him!
well that’s just my pov.
