A cute, funny (and slightly serious in the last couple of episodes) drama that is entertaining and easy to binge. Definitely worth your time, even if you usually don't watch GLs. My score: 8.5/10
Short, cute drama that's easy to watch. The acting is quite good and the cinematography is better than expected for a production with this budget. Also, Yi Qing is a cutie, so Ruo Ning should definitely pick her.
As one of the authors of those top reviews that you have mentioned I feel the need to defend my "sanity" here…
"Blank" is been my favourite drama of 2024. I genuinely loved it. But in terms of production, "The Loyal Pin" is a level above. They have spent some serious money on that show.

After re-reading your review, I see where you're coming from, and I generally agree with your criticisms. The show had the potential to be much, much better. I guess it simply comes down to how we use the 0-10 MDL scoring system. Oh how I long for the days when all Thai GL series are "Netflix" quality (in writing, acting and cinematography). It looks like "The Loyal Pin" will be the first to attain that level (at least in my opinion), and "Blank" was also very close to that level.
I liked it! But u gotta admit that it was a little cringe that ar Nueng almost married nueng’s dad. Nueng’s…
In the original novel, Anueng is 18 and Nueng is 34 when they first meet. But when the series was announced, a loud minority complained about Anueng's age, because unlike almost every other country on earth, an 18 year old in Thailand is still a minor. In an attempt to appease that loud minority, the makers of the show added 2 years to both of their ages, and came up with the story that Anueng stared school late because she was very sick as a young child.
I've just finished it after binging the final 8 episodes. This drama isn't a masterpiece of filmmaking by any standard, BUT my opinion is that it isn't as bad as some of the comments here would suggest. It is definitely watchable, and I found it entertaining, even though some aspects of the plot did frustrate me. As I type this, the two top reviews have scores of 2.5 and 4.0, which are (in my opinion) a joke. Would any sane person really sit through a drama they honestly thought was a 2.5/10 quality drama? I thought this drama was "average" - but not terrible and not great. If you like GL content, then watch it, because you'll probably like it, even with its faults. If you don't particularly like GL content, then don't watch it, because there are hundreds of better dramas out there. My score: 7.5/10 plus a bonus 0.5 because its GL.
"Gap" and "Blank" taught me to count to three in Thai.
The three sisters in that drama universe are Nueng, Song (RIP) and Sam, which is one, two and three in Thai. I'm wondering which scene you're thinking of from Blank. If you remember it "perfectly", it must be one of the sexy scenes, right?
I watched this series live for the first 4 episodes, and then paused until all episodes were available, which is now. But I didn't find the first four episodes particularly engaging, and based on the comments and overall score, I think I might be up for some frustrating viewing. But here goes … wish me luck.
I'm beyond bored and the acting is so artificial, especially from Becky. I use 2x speed and still want to skip.
There is no doubt that episode 2 was a slower episode, but I just don't agree with your comment on the acting. Freen and Becky were playing 15 year old girls, and I think they did a very good job convincing me they were 15 years old. So far, I'm loving this series.
Definitely has the chance to become the best GL so far and in the near future. The production quality is just…
To date, it is easily the best Thai GL in terms of production and acting. Time will tell if I enjoy it as much as "Blank" (which was a LOT), but from what I've seen so far, I just might.
