What was the eneding...can someone explain the ending from the time Li Changshou gets trapped by the Jin Chan guy? I didn't understand anything after that..it was too confusing
So true..."This is certainly not the butterfly romance type of story.. If you watch it expecting cliche romance and lots of sweet moments, you might be a little disappointed"...they should add this disclaimer...lot of people commenting bad without undersaatmding the premise and trying to fit into the usual molds they have come to expect
Very beautifully written for a drama that deserves all its praise 👏 one of the best reviews which sums up everything in the drama and does justice to it...anyone reading this review will truky understand they are in for an intellectual entertaing treat❤️
Guys what you watching after this one? Any good historical airing rn?
I am watching Pull Strings...it is complete comedy and big relief after the serious TRTS...you'll have to suspend your disbelief and logic and not take it seriously to actually enjoy it

Wow...copied my review again... Truth doesn't equal Accountability
Though at the core this drama is of FL whose family is massacred and she is out for revenge, the revenge story is told through series of cases solved by FL and ML rather than a straightforward vengeance arc. Each case stands on it own as well and all these come together and build something heavier and unsettling. This is a deeply female centric drama. FL Is the intelligent martial arts well versed person whereas the ML is more like an intelligent companion who uses his knowledge and memory and observation kills to help the ML. Individual cases are not just mysteries to be solved , they expose how women were oppressed and abused in palaces and by men in power. And how men in power used other women to trap, lure, target weak women and families to abuse women and keep their chain going. The writing and drama doesn't sugar coat it at all. As viewers watch cases unfold, FL investigated these cases, risks her life, everything to uncover the truth, but despite that Justice never truly gets served. This drama's central theme gets beautifully summed up by FL in the end when she says “What’s the point of uncovering the truth when no one actually gets justice?” Wrongdoers do not always receive the punishment they deserve. It’s a frustrating truth, but also a painfully realistic one. In that sense, the drama feels incredibly relevant to present times, where powerful networks protect their own and truth does not always equal accountability.
Bai Lu delivers one of her most restrained yet powerful performances here. Her character is a woman shaped by survival — someone forced to protect herself while still maintaining her compassion. What I appreciated most was how layered she felt;Guarded, but not cold. Strong, but not invulnerable. Caring toward her princess friend, her subordinates, and the empress who raised her. She carries the revenge arc, and it feels earned. This is very much her story. she reminded me many times of Ling Bu Yi from LLTG. The ML played by Wang Xin Yue plays a reserved, poker-faced astronomer who avoids court politics but gets pulled into investigations because of his sharp observational skills and intellect. He performs the role well — but it does feel somewhat familiar. If you’ve seen him in other dramas, you may feel he’s treading similar ground. It’s not disappointing, just not particularly expansive in terms of showing new acting range. The leads begin flirting early, but it evolves into a slow-burn dynamic built on intellectual compatibility and quiet support. There’s no dramatic, over-the-top passion — it’s more about being on the same wavelength, mutual respect, shared understanding. It feels like regular more realistic love. Fight scenes are well choreographed.Costumes are detailed and thoughtfully aligned with each case and its themes. The pacing remains steady throughout.
Overall one of the best female centric drama which doesn't reduce ML into some weak person or doesn't make the FL into a toxic masculine character. On one hand the drama shows the cruelty and oppression of women by men, also on the other hand it shows the men and women who help rescue them. A well balanced drama in that aspect of showing the power of feminine with help amd support of the masculine. Rating 8.7/10
Why? He was innocent...it wasn't public excecution, Mo family could have left in disguise and reemerged after his name was cleared or continue to live incognito..
So as long as someone is useful to the emperor he will let them live, ZL got a tonic instead of poison because of his usefulness...Mo Yi could have been spared with a similar ploy...his achievements in battle were no less
Mr.Yu's death was too easy...but again realistic...if he was brought down, half the court would have had to be brought down with him which would have destabilised the dynasty...happens even today, well connected criminals die unnatural deaths, or in prison or go scot free nd become even powerful...part of me wishes he had lived and we got S2
During the latest episodes the only thing that still amazes and makes me happy is his acting. This role has one…
The plot and direction is for mature audience who can handle heavy truth...though I hate ZL having to make that choice, I know in real life many have had to make it...I am myself finding it difficult to comprehend today's episode
When will this sadness ever end??? I can't take it anymore!! It's giving me trauma!!! They went through so many…
Seriously...the emperor is poorly written...he is just playing along with Mr.Yu's schemes...he has the whole court, but is dumping everything on only ZL...at this point honestly just give the throne to Mr.Yu as he is pretty much running the show and country
Wht a heavy episode...DYX really pulled off this emotionally complex and heavy episode 👏 👏 I am also feeling heavy after this episode...great acting and direction
So ZL did that...I am both disappointed and impressed...disappointed with what happened, part of me is hoping like c-dramas they actually show Mo is actually alove and this was some ploy....impressed becasue this drama is as real as it can get in real life now, it didn't shy away from the truth...
Villian of the year goes to Mr,Yu 👏 👏 👏 Todays episode really showed him in his full capacity..from pretending to be humble in front of emperor, to showing off in public, to threatening FTY, to confrontation with YJX...expressions, voice modulation, posture...the actor really pulled it off 👏 👏 This drama has given all actors place to shine ✨️

Why does someone want to copy someone's review of a drama? This is not a writing competition..this is MDL
