My main problem with BL that involves inspectors etc. is that the actors look college age max. They should hire older or at least older looking actors for roles like this.
I feel like this is the only BL drama out there (if you donât count censored danmei) where people are more preoccupied with the character ships than the actor ships. We need more.
If they are still going to do this I think they should hire another screenwriter alongside Sammon. Sammon is good at mystery, but she is not that good at writing compelling and likeable characters. In general, I feel like BOC biggest weakness post-KP are the characters, even though production is of course always excellent.
I would not assume that anything is secret code there. If they say it's pre-script meetings, it's pre-script meetings.I…
I donât think Jeff would drop the project willingly, but there could be issues outside of his control. Rather than outright dropping, Iâm more worried about huge delays. I donât trust casual verbal statements from Jeff much, since he said before that he wants the show to release end of this year or early next year, and that is just not possible (unless something has been done in secret, which I think is unlikely). So yeah, I think he is overly optimistic whenever he talks about HE release period.

Iâm just starting to get really sceptical about this project since the new project immediately got a filming schedule even before the release of the pilot, whereas HE still does not have one announced despite the fact that the pilot aired so long ago. Also, if they start filming the chef drama (8 eps) in February and can only make it to Q4 for release then there i no way HE could make it before that if they start filming later .
Okay, so Jeffâs new drama My Chef in Crime will start to film in February and will air in late 2026. That must mean that Happy Ending will not come out until 2027. Because no way can they film HE before February(unless theyâve been already filming secretly for a while, but I donât see how that could be the case with Jeff insane schedule and the script being still in the works, unless the pre-script meetings were actually some secret code for filming lmao) Iâm actually kind of worried that HE will get shelved in the future whether it is because of too much ambition ,impossible schedules or unmet budget goals.
barcode says in a interview, he has scheduled with Jeff to filming soon
Tbh, I donât think it would be that surprising if this doesnât come out until 2027 even. Who knows when they will complete the script, but even after that all the actors will have to learn their lines and do workshops, filming itself will probably take a really long time and also post-production will require more time than the average show due to the fantasy elements. Furthermore, depending on what the final full cast will be, if there are a lot of famous people involved it could take months until filming can start even if all preparatory work is done as it is difficult to get schedules to align.
Ik people will criticize for saying this but idgaf and i did liked the show. But one thing is true that this series…
I also struggle with all the thirst that is going on in fandom. Sometimes it seems like all people care about is looks. Not that I donât appreciate great visuals myself but itâs an afterthought at best. For me characterization, character dynamics, romance development, production, script etc. are far more important. Could never watch a show just because someone is supposedly âhotâ.
People like sweet teenybopper series with their favorite ships. People in the bl fandom don't watch series for…
I think it was the focus on the political aspect that turned many people away. The biggest BL this year so far has been Khemjira, which shows that plenty of people do care about quality, itâs just that fantasy/supernatural tends to win over realism for many when it comes to fiction. Of course there will always still be those that just like to watch the generic and low budget GMMTV stuff haha.
Ok I've found translation of director's rant for those who are interested:https://www.reddit.com/r/boyslove/comments/1ognynk/pnew_siwaj_director_of_revamp_responds_to/Idk…
Malicious hate is obviously bad, but I feel like constructive criticism in the BL fandom is extremely important. There will never be any proper and large-scale improvement unless people stop accepting bad writing, directing, acting etc. I really need the days when people watch anything as long as it is BL and has their faves in it to be over.
I really hope this delivers with all my heart. Iâm literally starting to develop anger issues because of how many BLs/GLs I started this year but could not finish cause they were bad or boring. Clairbell team can still prevent my villain origin story from happening XD
Literally. Good acting skills do not help much when the script is weak.
Bad actors with bad scripts would look less awkward imho. It was really jarring for me to see Barcode in this after his work in BOC. His character was not written well, just like the others were not.
It's disheartening to see the stark contrast in quality and care between GMMTV's hetero shows and their BL offerings.…
I agree 100%. It needs to be said as many times as possible. Fans need to stop trending shows just because their faves are in it. We need less people who are primarily occupied with celebrities and actor ships and more people who care about quality storytelling, character integrity and compelling romance in BL/GL. Currently my only hope is shows like Clairebell from smaller startups that have an actual creative vision and donât treat queer stories like trash to make money of. Change seems really hard on a broader scale though because of the way many BL/GL fans operate.
