Definetly bingewatching this! I’m so glad that they were able to make this within a reasonable amount of time (within a year since announcement)Many shows that publish a pilot take way too much time to actually air, if they ever do. Kudos to the Clairebell team!

I really wanted this so I could have gotten some vicarious Kimchay as a consolation prize since there was so little of them in KP and I love them💦I doubt Happy ending will work in that regard cause Damon and Anawin seem too different to be able to watch it as a Kimchay au so this was my only hope.

I really would love this to be gay but I hate how Thailand pretty much refuses to make queer stuff that is not fluffy romcom (only a few exceptions). Like the straights already have everything in every conceivable genre imaginable, so I’m bummed if there will not be even one dark themed action show that is queer:(

Hopefully now that it has been changed there will be hollywood-style action with queer romance (not your typical Thai romcom BL) It’s unfair that so far all the big budget vampire dramas have been given to het dramas.

For me this is the kind of show that you could write an academic analysis on for your thesis, but not the kind of show that makes you want to engage with it creatively through fic and art.Like it was a solid 9 in terms of quality, but now that I’ve finished it it’s easy to move on.

I’m not watching this show but I saw a gif set with captions of bratty sub!Ciar with soft dom !Mekhin and stern dom!Methas and now I cannot unsee it XD maybe I should watch this after all…….

Since the script probably isn’t going to be completed in the next few months and assuming that filming will take at least 6 months (since it seems to be a big production with many episodes considering how long the script is taking), I think we should not expect to see Happy Ending until late summer next year or even next fall. Saying this just so that nobody expects this anytime soon.

The good thing with them taking their time is that the script will probably become really good and polished. The downside is though that so much time has passed that some of the hype has inevitably died down , not to mention that people will also have had maybe too much time to sit with their own ideas about what they want the show to be, which can lead to disappointment if the show ends up being too different .In my case for example the pilot gave me expectations for dark queer romance with fantasy and mystery, and since those feelings have been there for well over a year now I would end up terribly disappointed if HE would not deliver in that department (also if Jeff removed Damon choking Anawin I do not know if I could forgive it haha)

For me, a great example of a sweet and kind character that is not stereotypically bland or a doormat is Chay from Kinnporsche. That boy had a level of emotional maturity, sense of self-respect and ability to set boundaries that the other characters more directly involved in the mafia could not even dream of. Also his emotional honesty and genuine heart really had Kim silently going insane, becoming wrapped around his little finger. I would like to see more characters like this whose emotional intelligence is their strength.

It is definetly a really well-made show. Still, I also understand that a political period drama is not everyone’s favourite genre. The film critic in me is enjoying this a lot, but it’s not inspiring me to read/create fan fic or fanart like for example Kinnporsche did. I guess it is a casual enjoyment versus hyperfixation kind of thing.

The show is on my list still, I’m just waiting for more episodes to be out to start:)

A masculine guy with a feminine guy does not make the relationship any less gay, just like a guy with a masculine girl would not make a relationship any less heterosexual. I have yet to start watching the show so I really cannot comment on individual characters but I think the problem is often that writers refuse to give more feminine gay characters deeper characterization. BL actually would do well to have more femme characters as most couples are masc for masc but the issue is that the creators don’t seem to know how to write them well, so they end up being doormats with no agency lol Also sometimes in romance shows or books, whether gay or straights there is often the problem that one character is written as a thrist trap and the other as a self-insert for readers. And self-inserts are usually notoriously bland, like Bella from Twilight etc. I need both characters to be interesting in their own way to enjoy a romance story.

Yeah it is so weird whenever there is a show that has characters in important career positions and the actors are like 19 or 20 or something😂like I’m supposed to believe a teenager would be a doctor, leading an investigation or be the CEO lol

I have no idea about any of the social media drama around actors. I just watch series that interest me. If they like to act exclusively together continuously that is fine, as long as they don’t do it just because the industry requires it.I have personally noticed that I cannot get immersed if the same
combination of actors keep
playing
new characters together. In the case of Shine my problem is also that since Kinn and Porsche were so iconic Trin and Thanwa just do not mesure up in my mind. I wouldn’t even dream of being involved in social media drama trying to ”break up” actor pairs, just the mere thought of being involved in something like that gives me anxiety :D

As a sidenote, with Be On Cloud I’m particularly not a fan of established actor pairs because they only release about 1 series a year. Next year will be Jess and Bible again with 8 hours and if the year after that is Mile and Apo again it feels like it’s just an endless loop without any variety :/ for me it is really sad if all the BLs/queer shows from BOC just focus on these two actor pairs. It would be more tolerable if they did more series but so far their trademark has been 1 per year. So therefore I’m left wondering when will there be a BOC queer show that does not have MileApo or JesBible as the leads? Maybe in 2035 XD

I’m one of those people who actually wishes actors would not come in pairs. I absolutely adored Kinn and Porsche, but I’m not feeling Trin and Thanwa , so I guess the same actor combination works for me only once. It would be nice if Apo and Mile will act together with other people. It is sad though if they can only do straight roles without each other. I want to see more queer shows from Be On Cloud but with different actor combinations.

I’m not so confident our and his perception ”almost here” is the same😂
