Besides the fact that the protagonists are lawyers/judges there is nothing else that can be compared. Law school…
I love the concept and it's totally different since the two are law dramas but with different concepts. It depends what one loves. If one loves a normal law drama with normal investigations, Law school is the series to watch but if one loves a surrealistic dystopian world with a judge who isn't just a law officer but more of a politician with a pacing that's almost a typical Makjang, then the demon judge might be the cup of tea.
at the moment I'm loving this more but the whole plotline focus is different law school storyline was good but…
I have watched two episodes of this one but the concept is different. A Dystopian kind of world where we see law as just a "facet"yet it's the only hope and salvation for equality in that high and low class society. The storyline is unpredictable which I love. I don't know if it's a constutional monarchy but we'll see about that.
I put this drama off when it aired thinking the story will take place in prison and it will not meet my standard for medical dramas but I was wrong. What made my fears come true was the romance which just didn't appeal to me because of it's dynamic between the leads ; how it started and how it revolved. Was it the characters??? The acting??? Or their age gap??? For me it seemed like a young female medical student falling in love with a professor old enough to be her teacher. And to make matters worse, she did the chasing, the confession , the worrying, the crying and the clinging. I know the writer used the ML's ilness as their stepping stone to their romance but it would have been more beautiful and healthy if they had remained a professor who inspired her to be where she's and the resident who cared for her role model professor whom she takes as a family figure. I however enjoyed the romance of her little sister with Dr Lee and the bromance between the collegues. The plot has holes which can be neglected. I loved the medical cases. It's just a good drama though I wouldn't give rewatch value.
btw just to confirm my doubt ...i wanna ask ...logan's parents' character was played by someone else in s1 right…
I don't remember exactly but in season 1 , when Min Seol A arrived in the states, we saw Logan's parents. In season two we saw his older brother Alex and in season 3 , we see the grand mom and other relatives. I haven't kept track of their faces unless I go back and watch an episode in which Logan's family appeared.
I think it's because SookHoon felt like he betrayed Bae Rona to see his own father involved in the case of Oh Yoon Hee's death, the mum of his love. He thinks he doesn't deserve someone like Bae Rona.
MY SHIM SURYEON IS BACK. MY QUEEN IS BACK TO DO IT HER WAY. Always a head of everyone and with Kang Mari added into the mix, the ride is worth to watch. I knew Cheon Seojin's motives to save Logan weren't good and honourable plus it was out of character but this is so DIRTY and DISGUSTING to me. For the first-time fake Joo Dan Tae is tasting his own medicine. It was satisfying to watch. I loved how Bae Rona dealt with it. It pained her but she wasn't like some bitches who act clingy and ask why while crying. That was brave of her however she should be weary of Cheon Seojin. I thought the watch would have some crucial piece of evidence or clue to Oh Yoon Hee's death but it just turned out to be an "obvious secret" which to me it was a boring plotwist. I have rants of this episode like when it was said that the police found out that the bones at the scene were animal's bones, so does the writer mean to tell me that since the police found this and so the investigation ended there???? Also I happen to find the drugs in this drama function "miraculously" like what The Heck??? How did CSJ get to know Logan that deep??? It seems the characters of Baek Jun Ki and Jenny's dad have no purpose in this storyline. One is greedy beyond belief and an avid gambler and another has no diginity and pride left, practically fake JDT's dog. Anyway let me remind myself that this is a MAKJANG and that's why I'm continuing to watch it
I think most people ship the empress and the emporer bcus it was played excellently by Shin Sungrok and Jang Nara.…
My initial comment spoke of these people as characters not as actors and you replied by saying people shipped the emperor and the empress because of their chemistry. People misuse the word chemistry. To me chemistry isn't a word I would use to describe as two versatile actors looking good together but as their portrayal of their feeling as characters for each other. That's why I laugh at people who use this word with wrong pairs of characters in the series. I know nothing of the actors and I'm not interested but it's because of their acting skills and their versatile range which enabled them to portray the inner feelings of characters. So I think your reply had nothing to do with the characters which was my focal point, which I find kind of irrelevant.

I didn't feel anything between them other than forced love out of despair to be with someone. I saw the emperor as someone who was deprived of maternal love and he was looking for that love in Oh Sunny. That was toxic for me and Oh Sunny used that to her advantage since he did that to her. If people call that chemistry , then we really don't know what a healthy relationship should be like. The only chemistry I felt was between Yoon the crown prince and oh Sunny's sister. The actors were great at portraying their roles and the message was delivered perfectly for everyone to understand. Those adjustments in the end ruined Wang Shik's character just because the actor couldn't continue with those extended episodes. It's the last part which ruined the whole drama atleast for me. The very reason I rated it 7.0 /10
We'll never know the real story of Jang Hee Bin. Maybe she was mean, maybe she was not. She could've been everything…
Ask yourself why she was persecuted yet Sookbin who was lower than her wasn't ? There are many reasons. First the king showed intrest in her when he had other Queens which her mother couldn't allow. Two her family played a part in her downfall knowing full well the world is out to get her. Three she never used legitimate means to rise to the Queen position yet people couldn't allow someone from a middle class. (She was in middle class not peasant class as the drama suggests) to become Queen. Four even when she became Queen, she was still anxious. She couldn't allow other women to be with the King. That was unrealistic. Five. She had bad allies who weren't politically talented like the western party. Remember the King kept his power using these three women. Unlike in Dong Yi, the southern party was talented politically. I tried to sympathize with her but she chose what she chose and with every choice, there's a price. I thought what would have happened if she remained a royal concubine???? What if she didn't bring the shamans in the palace to practice witch craft ??? What if she had a reliable family enough to give pointers??? What if her party was talented to keep her a live???? or what if the King had demoted and dismissed her from the palace??? But her fate went to different direction
Tragedy ending / open ending or happy ending for the leads(main pair) ?? Spoil me please.
It's based on real Korean history and most characters are real historical figures. So it's not your typical romantic drama but rather a heavily political drama. The ending depends on the perspective of the viwer since at one moment you will view the perspective of these characters. For me it was the most realistic ending. The ending was the result of the choices the characters made.
I watched this last year and I get that it wasn't easy to connect with the new actors but 7.5 is too little for this drama. I know I shouldn't expect 9 or 8 but a 7.9 or 7.8 would be fair. First were the actors which led to a big loss especially the main characters. For such an adaptation based on a novel which has 1000+ chapters, they should have picked actors who are ready to take on this project till it's completion. Secondly, the character for Sang Sang wouldn't have two actresses. The heavenly maid should have remained as such and SangSang should have remained as such. For the most part , the cast change was a huge turn off. The story was excellently executed , which is why a 7.5 isn't fair compared to some Mary Sue dramas I see here with highier ratings.
ok, let´s kill the time. everyone share your favourite scene from the book! or if you haven´t read .. what are…
I have many favourites from the book like when Moran looked for his soul and he reached some netherworld hospital where he found Chu Wanning's soul there and unconscious, their bath reunion, when Chu Wanning came to save Moran on punishment tower, the ghost wedding, The moments when Chu Wanning became Xia Sini and Moran took care of him, and the scene where Moran and Chu Wanning went to master Huai zhui's cave. I can't forget the horse riding at Rufeng sect right before Song Quitong's wedding
RIGHT like is she forgetting Yoonhee specifically asked for Seokkyung's presence too and how she shouldn't accept…
Exactly the deceased talked about Joo Seokkyung. Another thing, if Cheon Seojin knew Baek Jun Ki , then why the heck was she checking through his things? Glad Secretary Jo didn't get beaten by JDT in this episode
Ep 6 should I say this is lazy writing or should I just say I just don't understand and I have many questions? Shim Suryeon knew all along that she had twins. If she knew, wasn't it obvious what Yoon Hee was going to tell her after going to places the deceased last went to? Another thing, She had laid a trap for Baek Jun Ki , why the heck did she get out of the car? I'm not surprised Logan is back but why in this manner? I'm disappointed in Baek Jun Ki. Shim Suryeon doesn't deserve him. How the heck did Cheon Seojin know Baek Jun Ki ? Where is Joo Seokkyung in these last 6 months ? The show feels draggy again without Logan. The only interesting part was Kang Mari and the 3 rich madams. We are in the middle of the last season and literally nothing makes sense.
Lee and the bromance between the collegues. The plot has holes which can be neglected. I loved the medical cases. It's just a good drama though I wouldn't give rewatch value.
