From ep 28 onwards it becomes very obvious. Lu Qi gets injured and she is nursing him day and night. Even cries when there is a possibility that he may die.

I've no issue with the drama turning dark as long as the transition makes sense. This show just has too many plot holes.

I was initially also doubtful about the Dileraba and Leo pairing. But thanks to their good acting, I got over their age gap pretty soon. It's not a flawless drama but is one of the best Cdrama I've seen so far. It's fast paced, light and there is a lot of character development for not only the main leads but also the side characters. Leyan's kidnapping and disappearance was indeed a bit too long but it kind of made sense, as she went through various life experiences because of it and it shaped her personality and world view. As for Chang Ge's revenge. Yes, she started of as this vengeful no matter what I must revenge girl but a long the way after going through many events, meeting various people and making mistakes she realises that she has lost herself and adjusted her morale compass in later episodes. Hope you are still watching. Today they're releasing the final episodes.

Recommend the long ballad with Dileraba and Leo Wu. No moment is draggy and both leads are intelligent and capable in their own right.

Having 2 directors may have caused the disconnection but then again there have been other fine dramas with 2 directors before. It feels like they're force feeding us unnecessary agony by depicting Fu Yan as a conflicted character. But the inconsistencies are just too glaring. And it's frustrating to watch her.

This Fu Yin. When she initially entered the Lu mansion I thought she has a clear revenge mission. But along the way, it became obvious that she doesn't have a plan at all. She basically reduced herself from a respectable maiden to Lu Qi's sex slave. The sacrifices would have been worthed if she is using Lu Qi as a means to her revenge goal. But so far, the only smart thing she has done was hinting to Lu Qi about the pearl necklace, which only got Ling Long killed and Lu Qi's cousin getting off with some reprimands.

I also find her falling for Lu Qi way too fast. It may have been believable if she didn't have a lover. But just a few episodes ago, she was deeply in love with her fiance and about to marry him. How can she forget about the finance so fast and fall for Lu Qi. It just doesn't make sense. Yes, Lu Qi protected her and gave her a bangle but he has also slapped her, verbally abused her and is treating her as his slave.

And her fickle behaviour after killing Lu Qi's cousin. I can understand that one's conscience will trigger after killing someone but that guy was one of her mother's killer and wasn't that the reason why she entered the Lu mansion in the first place, i.e. to avenge her mom? She is also dumb enough to tell Lu Ying Ying the truth and loosing an ally as a result.

She seems like a very indecisive person. She says she wants to revenge but then at the same time seems to fall for her enemy and is now even helping them to carry forth their bloodline.

He is cute when he is jealous. Hope to see CG jealous too. Sun doesn't seem to have obvious suitors.

Well, her sifu is quite a looker, young, probably more skillful in martial arts than him, saved her life and someone she is close to. Can't blame Sun for feeling jealous hahaha

I would also add the scene where Changge was revenging Adou. She was so determined and kickass. And I liked that Sun witnessed it.

I'm obsessed with this drama too. Currently, watching Court Lady to tide over the weekend. It's different than long ballad but entertaining enough.
