XXM borrowed Hanchen brother's sword to use it as a prop for a ritual dance but lost it in the process. The head maid wanted to use the loss of the sword as a reason to severely punish XXM but before she could do that Hanchen kicked XXM out of the manor. Partially because he was really upset because she had lost the sword but also to protect XXM from being tortured by the head maid. XXM went back to her cousin's place feeling sad/guilty and Hanchen starts to reflect on what his sifu told him about joining him to the battlefield.

Ep 16: glad that they are finally separated and that there is an end to the repeated misunderstanding and make up cycle. Hopefully they will grow individually and remarry under better circumstances as balanced and mature persons.

I totally agree with you.

Watched 2 episodes and so far it has been amazing. The cinematography is breathtaking (seriously some scenes look like scenes from lord of the rings or James Bond), acting, props and action scenes are all very realistic and the script is tight and exciting (no fillers and plotholes so far). Appreciate the level of detail in this show too, eg all actors look sunburned and they feature real locals. The only minor grumble I have is Qin Chuan's smart ass personality but that is part of the plot and I'm sure he'll go thru significant character development in the coming episodes. Each episode is about 55 mins with 8 episodes in total, which it's not too long for Cdrama standard.

I think there will be a divorce or she will just leave him after the 2 years contract period has ended. But she will eventually remarry him again as the main wife, as in the opening/ending song I saw her in another green wedding robe which is different from the one she initially wore.

Agreed. The editing was off in ep 10 too. One moment, they were tensed together in the bedroom and in the next, XXM was suddenly with SW. The transition was so abrupt. No explanation about what happened in the bedroom and how he returned the hairpin to her. It also doesn't make sense that she can just leave the Manor in such a situation in the middle of the night, especially as a concubine.

I thought it would be another contract marriage where both fall in love after marriage. Turns out the ML falls for the FL way earlier. Liking the storyline and acting so far. Not a fluffy rom com but not overly serious either.

Luckily, we don't get to see their post marriage life lol

What is FuYin trying to achieve telling LuQi the entire truth in ep 44? Gosh, just when you think this girl can't get more conflicted. Wonder what LuQi will do to her know that he knows the truth.

Agree that she deceived Zi Fang and it's despicable. I'm not condoning her actions. What I'm saying is that I understand her motivation. For Fu Yin her motivation is ambiguous her actions doesn't match with what she says. Which is very frustrating to watch.

Agree that she is very naive and maybe even bimbotic. I mean, what was she even thinking infiltrating in the Lu mansion without any concrete plan. Now she is knocked up with enemy's child, on the verge of mental breakdown and lost her freedom. Sigh...

Agree that she is a very naive girl and it's very frustrating to watch her getting herself in this mess. I don't think Lu Qi would have forced himself on her as he wanted to "conquer" her. The moment he thought she slept with his cousin he lost interest in her. Although he is treating her nice now, he still considers her as his slave, which is totally different from how her fiancee treated her, i.e. as an equal and with respect. I just can't wrap my head around the fact that she fell for Lu Qi when she has experienced so much better.

Agree. I can understand Lu Ying Ying motivations. She probably is also thinking that she may get married to someone she doesn't love. So at least have her first time with someone she loves.
