While I might want to passionately defend my favorite dramas, I also have my own list that greatly annoyed me, (and even pissed me off), so I get it. Of the dramas listed here, I have only seen My Shy Boss (its title on Netflix so that's what I call it) and I loved it - partly because Yeon Woo Jin is my favorite actor and he elevates everything he's in, even when the script is less than perfect. (The second half was much better than the first.) It had a lot to say about the theme of shame, regret and guilt - for all of the lead characters - and it was actually really moving to watch characters learn to forgive themselves and others around them. I appreciated the way it explored the aftermath of a tragedy within the company and the way it rippled out in its consequences. Not to mention the leads were not shy in expressing their affection for one another - even in public, which I really liked. Anyway, just my opinion.

I can't comment on the rest because I haven't seen them. I mostly liked the Chinese remake of Fated to Love You, (You Are My Destiny), except for the SFL who was the absolute worst and her stupidity was allowed to drag on for way too long.

My frustrations in drama come generally two or three things:
1) - a terrible secondary character who is allowed to wreak havoc for too long unchecked (unless it's like a crime show and they haven't caught the killer yet - obvs that's different. But if the character is just a terrible person and is enabled to keep running amok that gets too frustrating.)
2) - it's a rom-com and there is little to no affection between the characters, or worse yet, the FL acts like she's allergic to physical affection.
2.B: When we get to see one anemic kiss at the very, very end of the drama. Why even bother? K-dramas suffer more from this than the Japanese dramas I watch more of now but there are also Taiwanese dramas for which this is true.
3) - the characters we've invested a lot of time in get an ending they don't deserve, and characters who deserve much worse often get a pass.

The dramas that frustrated me the most (and I can't believe that I actually finished them) were:
-Something in the Rain (the mother.....omg, the mother)
-Playful Kiss (ugggggghhhhhh, where to even start)
-She Was Pretty (too trope-y and FL got yelled at publicly too often)
-This is My Love (so much to be annoyed by)
-Melting Me Softly (it was a very unsatisfactory ending)
-My First First Love 2 (no reason for those two leads to end up together)
-When I See You Again (TW-drama with hardly any affection between the leads)
-Warrior Baek Dong Soo (still mad about the ending)

There are some of us that actually really like when some shows get the space to continue telling the story they're…
There are precious few completely "original" stories, as humans tend to tell the same stories over and over again, with some tweaks here and there. This isn't a new concept. Shakespeare retold ancient stories in his plays and those threads still show up in stories around the world. The same is true for very old tales and legends from all over Asia - from China to Iran to India. While sometimes ideas are "stolen," they're often just imitated and have been for thousands of years now.

It's also your opinion that extra seasons drag out a story and you're entitled to it. It's not mine.

This could have all been solved with some communication and the FL fighting for her man.

This drama is SO GOOD so far!! Thank you to the subbers, you're doing the Lord's work. :-)
And no, this isn't Flower of Evil, so don't even ask. But yes, this is a remake of a UK show that was extremely popular and extremely well-done. The changes to this drama for culture and language have only strengthened it and I hope that more people get to watch it in the future. We never know the reasons why some shows get picked up by major streaming sites and some don't - I'm sure a lot goes on behind the scenes with copyright and streaming rights, etc.
(And as a Japanese drama fan, we actually have a lot more to complain about than folks who only watch K-dramas, which are streamed on a lot of sites and subbed relatively quickly. Sometimes it feels like the search for the Holy Grail to find the J-dorama you want to see and you might have to literally wait for years for it to get subbed.)

Things SK industry has been doing that annoys me ,Let's start making 2 seasons for some shows and now let's make…
There are some of us that actually really like when some shows get the space to continue telling the story they're telling. I am very eagerly awaiting more Alice in Borderland and I was thrilled beyond belief to get another season of Stranger. I don't understand why so many people complain about getting a second (or third) season of shows. More space and time for character development, etc.
Also, remakes happen all the time and not just from Western shows to Asian shows but Taiwanese to Japanese, Japanese to Chinese, Japanese to Korean, etc. Suits was a Korean remake of an American show (and except for the older ML who I personally disliked, I liked the SK version better than the original.) Sometimes I like the original better. It just depends. I loved the UK version of Undercover and so far I am really, really liking this version too. Because they're enough different even if they're a remake.

Lol I am so impatient I tried watching episode 5 with translated Japanese subs to English but failed miserably.
Same - I got so impatient I just started watching it raw but gave up after a few minutes. :-) It's not hard to get the emotions but I'd like to know what they're saying. I am SO GRATEFUL for subbers and they can take the time they need to get things subbed because I can't speak Japanese! (very very grateful for those who provide this service for us)
