Maybe my taste in dramas isn’t that evolved but after 6 episodes, i still can’t seem to get into this drama.…
Period dramas usually have many characters, sects, factions etc, all which can be very confusing. It takes a while to settle into a drama, recognize who's who and the relationships.
The camerawork was filmed a little differently. Some find it refreshing, some don't like it. I don't love it or hate it, I am more particular about whether things make sense.
As a non chinese speaker, you might have trouble following the characters because the subs are inconsistent. There've been complains about how they change the names every now and then. So you aren't the only one.
All in, I wouldn't say this is top notch but it is definitely above average. Entertaining if you can overlook some issues.
Usually at this late stage, I can tell where a plot is heading but not for this. If the pieces fit neatly in the end, I will say kudos. I just hope it makes sense.
So WYJ and Baili Dalang aren't in cahoots? How did Lord Spring give up so easily? I don't believe he sacrificed…
So what do you make of Lord Spring and WYJ? In the preview, WYJ said he poisoned himself. I don't understand why would he poisoned himself to the point of dying?
So WYJ and Baili Dalang aren't in cahoots? How did Lord Spring give up so easily? I don't believe he sacrificed himself for the cause. He is a egomaniac, I laughed so hard when Baili Hongyi told Empress his brother's weakness.
I don't watch a lot of historical/period/costume dramas but this plot about overthrowing the reigning ruler
So in this one, Divine Clan plans to make the people revolt against Empress to the extent that her entire dynasty dies with her, not just killing her or usurping the throne. This would make the Divine Clan patriots instead of rebels committing treason.
Very painful that Shen Fei bit the dust and looks like Lord Chu is next. But the fact that speed has been ramped…
My guess is that Wu Youjie used LBQ's jealousy of WSY and GBZ to spur him to do crazy things. LBQ didn't join the cult because personal motivation or could be that he was brainwashed into following Wu Youjie who was like a father figure to him.

Liuran's dad, LiuFeng and BLKR. Who's the other?
Poor BLHY. I hate BLKR for rubbing it in that HY merely lost his childhood friend.
