I also hate when shows leave many things unanswered but I really don't feel like this show did that. If there…
Honestly I don't remember, I didn't even remember he kidnapped her.
I think..... the reason he kidnapped the sister was because he fell in love with the female lead. She moves away so he kidnaps her sister to lure her back.
That sounds like a pretty insane thing to do.. but I think I am remembering correctly.
Can someone spoil if it is a good happy ending? I don't like shows where the main leads don't end up together…
What do you mean by good happy ending? It sounds like you are expecting romance between the main guy (Lee Joong Ki) and the girl listed as the main role but there is only a tiny bit of romance during the short school section and after that zero romance. The limited interactions with the girls are to further his goal of ridding the country of corruption.
During the school part there were 3 love interests who all obviously liked the mian guy. It kind of seemed like there was going to be some romance competition between the girls but then suddenly the main guy gets mandatory military service and the show skips 6 years forward.
After the time skip 2 of the girls, one being the lead, now have cliche rough masculine personalities so they have zero scenes that could be considered romantic.
The other, which is the former kpop idol Kim Jaekyung, had a flirty personality during school which she keeps up as an adult. Which is why some could say she had chemistry with the male lead since he does also flirt back a bit but still their meetings are pretty much all 100% related towards ending corruption.
In the final episode near the end the main guy suddenly announces he is getting married to the main girl, which again is not the flirty one and not much indication she actually is the main girl based on interactions / screen time. I want to be clear this is an instant announcement. No proposal or any mention of marriage before the announcement, as in 5 seconds before the announcement there was no sign it was coming. Like everything else this was 100% motivated to capturing the corrupt guy. At the very end of the show though they mention they plan to actually start dating though and it seems there may be a season 2 possibly. So maybe in season 2 there will be some romance between the leads.
Anyway if you are after romance this is ABSOLUTELY not the show to watch.
skipped most of the daughter in law scenes but I liked the real daughter, I finished it but it wasn't that enjoyable with how much I disliked most characters......
early on it is good but slowly gets less and less enjoyable and by episode 15ish it is a bit tedious, after episode 18 it goes to garbage pretty much. I rewatched the show for the 4th time I think I dropped my score from 10 to 7. I don't ever want to watch it again. It really isn't that enjoyable overall.... the only reason I've watched it so many times is because I forget about how bad it ends over the years. Now I made a note to never rewatch it again...
I also hate when shows leave many things unanswered but I really don't feel like this show did that. If there…
There are multiple crimes that take place throughout the show which all seem to be connected but you are never sure if they actually are while watching.
The actual killing of the sister is a pretty big spoiler since she is only revealed to be missing although implied dead but later is shown to be alive during the show although that isn't too much of a spoiler....
SPOILER... What is a potentially HUGE SPOILER is that the kidnapper and murderer aren't the same, the murder is actually a side plot not the core story.. The kidnapper is revealed and the murderer is revealed. But the story the drama tells is of the kidnapping and not the murder which I feel is why it wraps up nicely since the kidnapping story is very clear in my opinion.
If the boy's parents were killed when they were kids then who were they who killed misano's parents in the middle…
Not sure what you mean..
Misono kills her own parents when she was a kid (which shows in the middle of the movie) (real but minor character) Mii-kun then escapes (main character) Mii-kun refuses to kill Misono (main character) Mii-kun's dad kills his wife when she protects (main character) Mii-kun Misono then kills (main character) Mii-kun's dad
honestly title is pretty wrong but anyway... I did not really like the ending. I rated it a 8, maybe would've rated it a 9 if it ended happier. It definitely was a happy ending but not super happy...
I highly recommend this show. Pretty much every character is complex but no one is really revealed completely which keeps things very interesting since you never know what is going to happen next. You could say there was like 1000 mini twists every single episode. Easy 9.5 out of 10 for me and I kind of feel that is a bit too harsh of a rating. I didn't rate it a 10 since there is probably going to be a season 2 but I still feel they wrapped things up nicely if there never is a season 2.
i hate this trend of leaving the last episode with so many unanswered questions for a season 2. won't bother starting…
I also hate when shows leave many things unanswered but I really don't feel like this show did that. If there is never a season 2 I feel everything was still adequately wrapped up.
So, how was this? Should I watch it? Sadly there arent any reviews either :(
I would say definitely watch it.
I am not a fan of thrillers since they are usually pretty light pretending to be dark and very predictable. This show had a sex scene at the start which to me showed it could be darker than usual so I gave it a chance. I didn't get hooked immediately since again I don't like thrillers usually. I think it took me like 1-2 weeks to finish the first 2 maybe 3 episodes. I don't remember exactly when it hooked me but it did and then I kept watching non stop pretty much.
I've watched so many dramas (my profile says 10,000+ episodes) that I skip LOADS in shows but this drama had so many interesting dark complex characters that made it impossible to predict their actions so I didn't skip almost anything. Pretty much every character's.... character/personality is slowly revealed which constantly changes the way you understand their actions / previous actions so the show constantly stays fresh.
anyone who has watched the last 2 eps im confused so is the detective guy who is attracted to the fl actually…
I am pretty sure the ending photo is a picture of the butcher from the shop. I think even without a season 2 by understanding who the picture is, the butcher, you can make a pretty reliable guess of what happened.
The sister didn't want to fake a report and pretty much everyone who was even remotely a suspect is guilty of participating in her death except the detective main guy who just kidnapped her and the mentally ill killer at the beginning.
I think the only character I can think of who might be "innocent" is the hacker guy. Towards the end they definitely present him in a way that he would be guilty but I am still not sure.......
Well actually maybe charlie might not be that involved either. Throughout the show it paints him as likely suspect but it also frequently shows him as just someone who likes excitement. Towards the end he kind of threatens sook ja to reveal everything if he gets into trouble which makes sense for his character which is also why I feel he might be not know who killed her since he doesn't seem very reliable. Then a bit later charlie mentions he didn't know sook ja would clear up his problem and the butcher was surprised which didn't mean anything up until the end where the picture turns out to be the butcher. Which is why I now think the butcher was more involved than charlie was.
...? the male lead didn't kill the sister. The male lead was the kidnapper but he didn't kill the sister. At the very end the female cop sees a picture of the killer and it was the butcher from the little shop in the neighborhood. I imagine if the show is popular there will definitely be a season 2 to continue the story..
first 3 episodes were really enjoyable like a 10 out of 10 for me, episodes 4 & 5 were like a 3 out of 10, episodes 6 kind of recovered a bit to a 7 out of 10, episode 7 ruined the show for me since I no longer want to see them together.
Might be the first chinese drama that I felt ended too soon. I really like all the characters, I probably could watch them for 100 episodes doing pretty much anything. This show was easily a 9.5 for me which is very high compared to what I usually rate a show. I imagine I will eventually watch this show many times over the years since it really is so easy, enjoyable, and quick to watch.
I highly recommend everyone give this drama a try.
I hate how they reveal something to the audience then suddenly all the character interactions change completely based on that new information. It makes it so obvious that they were just making things up week to week.
I also hate how ridiculously coincidental everything was. There were so many 1 in a million situations that happened to move the plot forward. I've seen a lot of daily dramas so obviously I can suspend my belief a bit but this was way too overboard.

It was just plain bad writing.
