I just finished it. From my interpretation, I didn’t think they were not being respectful with its portrayal…
I completely understand! Haha Untamed is my first wuxia, historical drama, so I’m not as tainted/spoiled? Lol it definitely took me time to adapt to its style haha

Truthfully, I don’t recall sword flying as being too common in the show.

I’m a sucker for “adopted” family love in dramas, the main character has such a beautiful relationship with his adopted sister, a loving but also complex relationship with his hot-headed adopted brother and throughout the show he essentially adopts more people to love and cherish. He’s a strong character but also a class clown, I just love him haha

I recently learned it is adapted from a boys love novel. I started to read it recently, it’s such a compelling story if you enjoy reading haha

Someone sent me this music video before I made the decision to watch it haha

Your drama schedule sounds full haha

—thanks for the recommendation, I’ll prob check it out! I just watched a clip haha

I’m pathetic but I’m so excited to see episode 2 due to the previews, it looks like the boy-mance will be strong HAHA

—I wonder, have you ever checked out the untamed? It’s a Chinese wuxia historical drama but the bromance is so strong. Their eyes feast on each other HAHA —it’s incredible story despite some wonky cgi in the first few episodes. I’m halfway through the show.

—LOL in dinner mate, their scenes were so frustrating to watch in the latter half. I wanted to tear my childhood stuff animals to bits HAHA —there is way too many coincidences and boring cliches in the first episode, and although it was advertised as a foodie drama, it was really lacking. So in my opinion, I don’t think you missed out haha

—I can’t wait for Wednesday, for KI and MPB!

Hi Friend! It’s always nice to see other friends in different chat rooms haha —for example I remember meeting @biased in the extraordinary you forums haha

—I repeated that stairway scene multiple of times LOL —I already ship them together HAHA
+I like the female lead too, but sorry it’s not your time, go find a different chef haha

—you’re right, there are so many cross-dressing dramas and we don’t blink an eye... I’m really curious how this topic will play out.

—the food in this show is killing me! Eye orgasm

I checked out both dinner mate and munchies. I think I’m going to stick with munchies haha —it surprises me, because I thought i was going to love dinner mate more.

I’m on the same boat, it’s becoming a chore watching eternal monarch.
It’s the eye of the beholder I suppose, but yeah I don’t understand how certain people minds are wired that way to think that there is chemistry. I need to borrow their magical glasses LOL
—I strained really hard to see the love bubbles and I tried to put myself in the shoes of the lead characters, unfortunately from every angle, the romance doesn’t resonate with me. —I’m beginning to think that some people are so simple-minded in the sense if they see two attractive people together, that automatically translates as chemistry LOL

First episode is very promising!
—filming style is unique, very edgy and indie-like
—ost is amazing, seamlessly blended in every scene.
—great male and female leads, you’re already rooting for them to succeed.
—the food and the cooking presentations are superb. I was so hungry throughout the episode.

The only potential red flags is the premise and the love triangle, lgbt is rarely portrayed and mentioned in kdrama but it will be at the front runner of this show. So it’s very intriguing. I hope they will be respectful and sensitive with this taboo topic.

im still confused. aint a gay chef a chef? is this a different type of chef or idk does 'gay' food exist? im only…
I just finished it. From my interpretation, I didn’t think they were not being respectful with its portrayal of lgbt people. The female lead gave a strong defense of them and she’s was actually given a chance to create a show that center around a gay chef.

—I agree it’s annoying that the male lead is pretending to be one due to desperation. But it’s understandable if you keep watching, he’s about to lose everything and needed income ASAP. I think anyone in his shoes would had done the same for the sake of their father.

—I don’t know if it’s me but when he bumped into the second male lead, there was a long, long stare between the two... maybe it’s possible for the male lead to be bisexual, unless that scene was done for a dramatic effect.

—even if the show ends with a heterosexual couple, it is still progress to get the viewers discussing lgbt issues. —the second male lead will most likely be sharing all of his struggles throughout the series.

Title Dinner Mate Spoiler
what cliche if you don't mind elaborate? I never thought he was going to go back given his character tbh and the…
Like I said before, first 15-20 minutes is fun. I liked the breakfast at Tiffany’s opening scene homage and the female lead workplace dynamics but after that, not so much:

Cliches:
—female lead wants to surprise her boyfriend with a surprise visit.
—female lead misunderstood and thinks she will be proposed to.
—Male & female lead meets for first time sitting next to each other on airplane flight
—female lead annoys male lead
—female lead at a restaurant finds out boyfriend is cheating on her “with the flight attendant” that serviced her in the same airplane. —the same flight attendant that wishes her a good engagement. The context is female lead thinks she’s getting proposed to, so she randomly asked the flight attendant to say some good blessings while she records it with her selfie-stick lol
—male lead happens to be at the same restaurant and witnessed the entire exchange.
—male lead feels sorry for female lead and wanted to comfort her despite being strangers.
—male leads misunderstands and thought female lead is trying to kill herself so he tries to
save her and it ended up back-firing on him.
ETC & ETC
—episode ends with male lead deciding to skip his flight and shows up and make a surprise appearance in front of female lead because he feels sorry for her.

I like the actors but I don’t like the way the story is written and executed, it’s using so many drama tropes but not expressed in a fresh manner. There’s way too many coincidences haha —it’s not technically a bad episode but I rather invest my time in watching other dramas that can win my heart. Everyone has different taste, so please don’t be upset at my opinion.

I agree, the romance is in the negatives! My expectations is below sea level but I’m just sticking with this show because I want to see how everything will play out. I want to see which questions they’re willing to answer and wish unknown factors they’re willing to conveniently ignore. I had a conflicting good and frustrating experience brainstorming possible outcomes, ideas, and theories with some people in regards of the mechanics of time freezes and motivations of certain characters... I want to see if they continue to be lazy to the end or if they clutch and somehow make the last 4 episodes acceptable LOL I might as well finish what I started although it is looking more likely I will stab myself at the end with pure, unadulterated regrets LOL

I liked first 20 minutes. Main female lead is fun, she’s like a kid haha but next 40 minutes it’s a bunch of frustrating cliches and drama. The ending was one of the most anti-climatic scenes ever that happens in almost every rom com haha I’m kinda disappointed. I’m going to check out sweet munchies 1st episode and see if I like that one more.

Was it accidental or on purpose? I think it might have been on purpose to help the company (and indirectly YC),…
Even though the court ruled in their favor the company still received bad press from the suicide. People tongues wag

I suppose you’re right that we are not 100 percent certain old boss stole the recipe but that’s where the crumbs lead haha

I don’t expect geezer to be a secretly good guy but I do expect him to transform and reform from His old ways and develop an interesting dynamic/friendship with YC haha

I would love to see a scene where YC mom dumps a bucket of trash on the geezer. This is what you deserve for humiliating my son back then. I would kill for that scene LOL

—I still see old geezer as one of the show true villains but YC will defeat him with kindness, and by doing so they will team up and defeat others villains and the final villain, the chairman son hahaha

Interesting, thanks for the enlightenment. That’s tragic.

If we ignore the work environment, his actions outside can still lead to bad public image like the man he stole the recipe from which lead to the man suicide.

The things he did are also detrimental to the company. Mistreatments of employees and hostile working environment lead to low morale and lower, inferior outputs. —he always scare away and get rid of great potential talents that could had better the company. He is rigid to the point of not allowing much innovative ideas to stimulate the company and its products. His tactics could lead to bad public image of the company and lawsuits

Title Kkondae Intern Spoiler
Was it accidental or on purpose? I think it might have been on purpose to help the company (and indirectly YC),…
I really think it’s accidental!

—I think he unintentionally built a bond with the Chinese guy, like an unspoken camaraderie, so he didn’t want to continue being an A-hole and tear up the contract of his new found buddy. He’s an A-hole but he hasn’t lost all shreds of humanity, he clearly loves his family. I think this show is going to continue to humble his character and teach this old dog some new tricks such as compassion and empathy. Better late than never in life lol —young dog will be the one to teach him lollll

—I don’t think it’s beneath him to resort to dirty tricks to take YC down. Just rewatch first half of episode 1. He steals his ideas and stole a recipe. There’s almost nothing he wouldn’t do to benefit himself.

—old boss has his own set of ideas to take down YC. It’s kissing the behind and pretending to be submissive, but tries to slyly sabotaged YC which he failed haha that’s comedic fire! —he’s going to keep trying to get on YC good side and once he lower his guards, BAM —but the thing is old boss is going to lower his guards as well, he’s going to hesitate more and more as time goes by lol

Seriously!
TE was supposed to be a tough character but now all she does is act lovesick and weeps all day long.

—prime minister: her political office is an empty shell. The king keeps her in the dark about traitor lee rim, parallel worlds, doppelgängers, so how is she suppose to protect the nation when she knows nothing. —we as an audience think she’s shady and suspicious but none of the characters should have that view of her. They should respect her office lol

—Luna is easily manipulated, I was hoping more for her character but right now she’s just acting jealous. She should just be best buddies with jealous prime minister lol

OOOOOHHHHH YOU FINISHED IT!!!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it! The ending left me crying like a baby. Did you watch…
I wish we got to know the real WQS more. It was so tragic that he killed himself. I wanted LZW to help him out like how HYX helped out Chen!
—but yes I wish we got a deeper background story on LZW.

—Your summary of all the positives are all on point! I love HYX relationship with Chen family and how she helped cleared misunderstandings and I love how she counseled Chen. It’s funny that HYX was seeking therapy from scum doctor but she’s the one that has the talents and skills to be a counselor lol

—the time loop was done so well, writer kes should take some time to check out the drama lol
