Amit, dropping by to say thx for the friend's request. It's been a while since you sent it, but better late than never. Nice to meet another male romance fan. A Moment to Remember wasn't my 1st Korean film, but it triggered my interest in Korean cinema. It was just fantastic! And so romantic ... if only the ending wasn't so heartbreaking...
I see you're watching Autumn's Concerto. That was my 1st Taiwanese drama. I didn't really like it. Very melodramatic & all over the place. For a great romantic Taiwanese drama I'd recommend MARS far more so than AC.
I remember you really enjoyed Nine. I've heard mixed reviews about the show. Many people have said it's quite boring. Nevertheless I'm in the mood for something completely different from the drama I'm about to finish so I've decided to give it a go.

Hi. I remember receiving a friend's request from you some time ago, but never had the time to pop over and say hi. Reading other people's profile led me to yours. You're in Korea now? How lucky! I want to travel there so bad, but I don't know when I'll have the time or money. What are you doing there? Scrolling down your wall I read where you completed a doctorate? Wow! Congratulations. So are you a professor of some sort in Korea?

Hi. You sent me a friend's request some time ago, but I didn't have the time to pop over and say hi. What other genres do you like aside from rom/com?

Sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well. How are you now? Better? It sucks being sick, esp during the holidays. Please take care of yourself.
Down with Love ... it was aright. I enjoyed it more than I expected to. Ella Chen was an unconventional leading lady & I kind of fell in love with Jerry Yan who was rather charming here. Not the most original story ever. You're likely to have seen it before in other dramas. So, not a must-see drama, but if one day you're bored and in the mood for something Taiwanese you can have a look at this.
I'm contemplating if I should watch Golden Rainbow. What do you think of it so far?
Gosh, I really disliked her character in The World that They Live In.
She was meant to portray this 'strong, independent' woman (whatever the heck that means) yet only came across as one colossal b*tch! ::shudder::
As a guy I can honestly say that I don't care for Geum Jan Di. Pan Da Yang had her moments but I much preferred…
Kdrama go overboard with the obnoxiousness of their male leads. Sometimes their behaviour is either totally incredible or just plain unnecessary ... which is an insult to the viewer's intelligence.
That said, jerks are in the eyes of the beholder. Who some people deem a jerk is not a jerk to me & who they find acceptable is totally uninteresting for me.
In general I like people with gumption, but particularly a man should to be tough without being cruel. I like that in Asian cinema the men maintain some level of authority ... unlike here in the west where many men are so damn confused they don't seem to know their a$$ from their butthole ... #pardonthefrench
I never suffer from 2nd lead syndrome.
Where I'm concerned the men are tolerable, but I'd love to see more females in Asian cinema & TV grow a backbone.

In my humble & insignificant opinion many social mores in SK defy common logic. For eg, if you're in a relationship and you want out, but the other person doesn't you can't leave until they release you. Apparently this is so that the 'injured' party saves face.
If you have a crush on someone and that person doesn't return your affection, the person who doesn't return your feelings is suddenly a villain. Why? Should the person force him/her self to have feelings for you?
It's probably not easy, but certainly not impossible to love your spouse's children. I love seeing Inho with the children. To me she's their mother ... and I just love that little family they create.
I think in a very patriarchal, somewhat sexist society ... everyone expects a wife to put up with a lot from her husband. If he has kids from a previous relationship she's expected to love them automatically or she's a bad wife. While everyone would understand why a guy ( let's say, like Dongho) balks at the idea of raising another man's kid. I really thought Dongho was going to suggest raising Bori's child as his own, but he didn't. Right now I can't figure out if his feelings for her are just pity or if he's falling for her. I want them to be together. I think he'd be a good provider for Bori. At heart Shin-ho is a good kid, but obviously he's too immature right now to be responsible for a wife & kid.
As for hubz, I probably wouldn't want to marry a man like him either ... on the other hand women find themselves in this dilemma all the time. You have a man who probably has a lot of faults, but who is also kind and loving. Sometimes there is a tendency to focus on the bad points and we always think the grass is greener on the other side.

Hehe ... I did! Hubz is by far the highlight of this show. They couldn't have found a better actor to play the role. Just wait a few more eps, he has even more craziness up his sleeve! LOL! Talk about a guy you really should dislike, but can't. haha
I must say even though I don't mind Bori, her story arc is getting rather tiresome. It's bogging down the show with unnecessary melodrama. I wouldn't want to see the drama lose its relatively light mood. I wish they'd resolve the situation already. Either send her back to Shin-ho so he can take responsibility or have her pair up with Dong-ho.
Another thing that's mildly annoying me is the Jang family's dislike of Jeon-seul. Exactly what's wrong with him? He's a good man, works hard, isn't a criminal, loves his kids, takes care of them ... worships the ground Inho walks on, but they hate him because he's going thru a rough period in his life??? What??? So they'd rather she marry a rich guy who treats her like crap than a poor guy who'd do anything for her??? Inho's dad of all people should give the guy a break given that he himself has walked in Jeon-seul shoes. Pfft ... sometimes I really don't understand Korean morality.

Dette kan ikke engang anses som en gyldig forklaring. #smfh
I wonder if it will ever be possible to achieve a healthy balance?
