Haha! #smh
Dude, you're an engineer! You're supposed to be smarter than the lot of us here! LOL
Anyway, GLAD you're loving Lovers! I hope you'll continue loving it! :)

The WHOLE YEAR???
Wow, that's a pretty long time to be in a slump. Why and how did this happen?
Maybe dramas have run their course for you? That would be sad! I've enjoyed chatting about dramas with you and reading your reviews!
Come back soon, my dear chingu dongsæng!

Your friend is right. The romance is very cute and surprisingly grown up. Still some awkwardness (I don't think you can avoid it in a kdrama), but no wide eyed kissing. Gosh, how I hate those! LOL I mean there are few, but they don't dominate the drama. The leads certainly had good chemistry and seemed to be really in love.
I've seen Ojakgyo Brothers and I agree that it is more enjoyable, but Smile, You is still worth a watch. Most of the characters are likeable. Only that one ahjumma might get on your nerves and the female lead's ex. He's like a pest, always showing in places he doesn't belong. Apart from those two everyone's ok!
Thx for the rec of The Queen of SOP! I came across it a few months ago & I wasn't sure it was for me. Seems like there's an intense love triangle & I really dislike love triangles.
Sorry to hear that you're in a slump. I experience a mini slumps after each drama, but I haven't had a major one in a while. I only get into a slump when I come across a real stinker. That's why I'm very careful now about what I choose to watch. I hope your interest returns. I know how frustrating it can be when nothing seems appealing you. I see you've been watching anime, keep that up. Sometimes its good to take a break from the drama world. Watch a couple movies too and see if it along with anime will get you excited about drama again! :)

Sorry for the late reply, Aghassi! Unnie has been too busy with all kinds a mad sh--! :)
LOL, I see you spazzing over Jung Kyung-ho aka Doc Son. Don't worry I won't judge you because he deserves the hype. I was spazzing my a$$ off over him when I watched the show too! :) He was good at what he did in CC, no doubt about that! Good to see that Soo Min & Hyung Min didn't stop you from giving the drama a 9. lol :)
Are you still watching Master's Sun? Why is it bad for you? I randomly watched the first ep when I discovered that I can now watch dramas on dramafever (before only North American residents could access the site). It wasn't bad, but I'm still not convinced I should watch it. Hong sisters never change their stripes. I'm sure the usual irritants are bound to show up sooner or later. lol
You mentioned Jung Yong-hwa. Unfortunately I don't know who that is. Is he hot? lol What else besides airing dramas are you watching?

Addy, what's up? Please excuse the late reply. There's just not enough hours in a day, you know ...? Sigh ...
Anyway, Smile You, I gave it a 7. It actually would have been an 8 or a 9 if it wasn't for the last 10 episodes. I was really disappointed with them. The beginning was an 8, the middle a 9, but it felt like an entirely different drama by the time it hit ep 34. Everything became so melodramatic and angsty when the show started out light and comedic. I didn't like that. I liked all the characters except the male lead's mother. That woman was a real piece of work! Overall, a nice drama, but it had so much potential to be better. Have you seen it? What did you think?
What have you been up to lately, young lady? It is indeed ages since we've chatted! :) Watching or watched anything noteworthy lately?
Last night I watched my first Chinese drama, Le Jun Kai. I liked it. It was short and pretty easy ride. It's similar story wise to Autumn's Concerto, but with better overall quality.
Now I'm planning to start Que Sera Sera, but I'm not 100% sure yet. Ugh, I hate not know what to watch! :)

Hey Cheerful, please excuse the late reply! Not enough hours in a day to do everything!
Anyway, an example of a drama where I thought the writing was poor? Well first one that comes to mind is Cruel City. Now if you're a fan of this show just know that I am too so don't crucify me! :) But I thought the writing was amateurish and sloppy. I'm still working on my review where I explain this in detail, but let me know if you want a quick break down.
Hong sister dramas, while funny and romantic in a grand sort of way that I actually like, often irritate me because of their scripts. I find that story, and to some extent character development (esp their female leads), are not a strong suit of the Hongs. They often start off with a bang but drag on forever toward the middle & end. They also ruin otherwise likeable (female) characters by making them make dumb choices. I know you're not a fan of romance so I don't know if you've seen any of their shows.
There's also Loving You A Thousand Times whose script completely defies logic. And Unexpected You where the writing was VEEERY heavy handed with its agenda. I have reviews up for both if you want to check them out. I'm pretty sure you probably haven't seen these shows because not only are they heavily romance influenced they're also loooong family dramas.
Ok, now that you've described the characteristics of Wuxia I realize that I've seen plenty of them! LOL And I love them! Would those old Shaolin Temple movies with the flying martial artists & bad (english) dubs classify as Wuxia? I have good memories of those as a kid. lol I remember being so fascinated by such an entirely different world from what I'm used to and I still am! Somehow even the over the top acting seems to work for this genre! :)

I recently added Swallow the Sun to my ptw list. Too bad you didn't like All In, only reason I plan to watch it is because of LBH. By the way do you think it's necessary to watch All In first before watching STS? I remember reading somewhere that they're loosely connected, is that true? Hope you have a lovely day! :)

Well based on your enthusiasm for Golden Empire how can I not add it! lol It's on the list now and I'll watch it as soon as the right mood strikes. Let me know if it ends on a satisfactory note. That will play a role in its priority on the list! :)
Even though I like gritty sexy movies I had a look at Green Chair long ago and decided it was not for me and since we have more or less the same taste it would seem that my instincts were right!
As for Love Fiction, no I like comedies too I promise, esp when my mood calls for it, but it was just Love Fiction that didn't quite work for me. Don't kill me chingu! Your girl is good, I'm just a weird one! I mean I can see that she's a good actress, but it's just that I haven't seen her yet in a role that I like. lol
As for what I'm watching, well nothing at the moment. I finished up my first Chinese drama last night, Le Jun Kai. Wasn't bad. If you've seen Autumn's Concerto it's a shorter version of that drama but with better overall quality. Now I'm wondering if I should start Que Sera Sera or something Japanese.
Omo! You're watching Lovers and you love it?? Squeeee!!! That's awesome! :) Isn't Kang Jæ one sexy muthaeffa? Pardon the french, but gosh I love that guy. I'm so glad you're enjoying it. How far along are you? I didn't see it on your currently watching list! Now I have guilty conscience that I didn't like LF. :( LOL
Thanks for the update! Chrome has been blocking access to the forums all morning, but since I've never had a problem with any part of MDL before I didn't heed the warning and proceeded at my own risk. Good to know my gamble wasn't for naught. :)

I haven't seen it, but it's on my list! I'm okay with no shirtless scenes if they're good kisses. Were there any?
Speaking of SSH shirtless it's probably the only reason why When A Man Loves is still on my ptw list! Haha
I heard the female lead cheated on him in the drama! And I saw the dreadful kiss scene between her and the home wrecker. I couldn't believe my eyes!

Thank you for your review of Summer's Scent. I've been wondering for a long time if I should add it to my list. Now I know for sure that I won't. I love SSH and would really like to see him in a great, romantic drama but it seems like he always picks the worse scripts! The fact that When A Man Loves has been universally panned everywhere I've read about it makes me very wary of that drama even though I tend to like drawing my own conclusions.
Why's everyone surprised about the ending? Based on the trail of blood flowing from his hairline and down his nose I surmised he suffered a major blow to his head so when he keeled over & died I wasn't shocked. Although I'm not sure I like him, would I have preferred if he survived? Yes.

Well, I just finished Love Fiction. The story wasn't quite my cup of tea and I'm not a 100% sure I'm feeling Jung-woo oppa in a comedic role. It's just not his strongest genre, imo. Not because he performed poorly or anything (on the contrary). I just think that with his intensity he's more suited to edgier genres, drama, crime, thriller, that sort of thing. But having said that it was a light, entertaining watch. Loved the ridiculous songs his rocker buddies came up with! LOL And his acting, even in a role that doesn't suit him, was great as usual. Gong Hye Jin, nice to see her in a slightly more mature role where she's an adult playing an adult! :)
I'm still not sure about her yet, but I don't hate her! :)
You're something, knight, something else! :)
Dude, you're an engineer! You're supposed to be smarter than the lot of us here! LOL
