Michael, just saw your comment about Osozaki no Himawari and it made me want to watch the show. One question though ... how 'little' is the romance. I've been going through a romance phaze for months now so anything I watch these days has to have a satisfactory romance. Cheers! :)

Hey, saw your comment about They Kiss Again on Mickey's profile & just had to hit you up about this! I plan to watch It Started with a Kiss. Actually I already started it, but it's been a couple weeks since I watched any new episodes. High School dramas are not a fav of mine so I feel no urgency to marathon. Nothing against them, just that I'm getting a bit too old for that kind drama right now. But at the same time I feel obligated to watch this drama because it's such a classic! Everyone's seen it, or a variation of it! In spite of this, though, I've been thinking I might want to skip it & jump right into They Kiss Again. It sounds more like my cup of tea. More mature, more developed. I've gotten various feedback on the merits of doing this, but none so far has convinced me one way or the other. I'm curious about your take. To skip or not to skip. What's your opinion? :)

Wicked! Thank you, Rosie, dear. :-)
Don't hesitate to let me know when you've stumbled across any gems. My PTW list is a monster, close to 300 titles, but I will watch them all! :)

P.S. Japanese dramas are slightly better at having a mature approach to romance than Korean I've found. Many of them may not have any kisses or they may have those godawful frozen kisses ... but what I like is that they don't skirt around the characters' sexuality. I really hate it when Korean dramas portray their characters as asexual aliens. Their sexual attraction to each other becomes this huge pink elephant in the room, soooo awkward! At least the J-dramas that I have seen so far ... which admittedly aren't that many, have real kisses & sexual tension between the leads. Have you seen Pride & Buzzer Beat?

I have a couple of movie recs I could give to you as well if you're interested. You have to really search for the dramas / movies with good story lines and a mature romance, but they're out there.

Hmmm ... your comment about Love Story in Havard has me intrigued. I've had this drama at the back of mind lately because I've heard it takes a mature approach to the romance between the leads. That is, no denying the characters are sexual beings (as most K-dramas do! Grrr!!!) and none of those dumbass frozen kisses! But now your comment about condoning domestic violence has me gun shy. Who condones this? The leads? Does the lead guy hit or verbally abuse the female lead (or she him, for that matter? I don't like that either ...) Please spoil me in this regard. I hate shows that blow over DV as if it's nothing.

Stumbled across your profile & I figured out Hæundæ Lovers (how did you like that drama, by the way? It doesn't seem to be very popular. Worth a watch? Any good kisses? I know the lead actress from a number of movies in which she does not hesitate to bear it all so I would imagine, I would hope there aren't any cold fish kisses here ... really hate those! :-)

Is that Missing You? I know when it comes to great kisses Yoon Hye Eun never disappoints! There were great kisses in all the dramas I've seen her in.

And what's that drama?

Queen In-Hyun's Man ... that kiss ... sigh, best thing about the show!

?

Reply 1997 ... Yoon Jæ. I want him. He's ALLLLL man. Gosh, LOVE that kid! He's gone & turned me into a real pedonoona.

Ah ... yeah, I get it now. I used to watch Channel Four a lot when I was in the UK (I miss London so much!). But strangely never heard of FilmFour! Good to know. I'll look out for it when next I'm in Blighty! :-) Hope it's not cable though.

Thx for the heads up about Incarnation of Money. I'll check it out. I've heard good stuff about Giant, been saving it for when I'm in the mood for a good mystery/suspense.

Say, how do you figure out who the writers are for dramas and or movies? I've tried to find the writers for shows that I loved but it's been a challenge because most times they don't list the writers on wiki articles. It's always easiest to find the director. And admittedly I tend not to look anywhere else other than wiki.

Oh thank you, chingu! Funny thing is I DID check gooddrama, but totally missed it! ha ha ha

Wow, they show Asian shows on UK TV? Which channel? It must be BBC Worldwide or something like that ...? Too bad I didn't know this when I lived in the UK!

Anyway, what's on the currently watching list? Any standouts? I know I can just go check your list, but not everyone updates their lists with everything they're watching ... ! I know I don't, lol.

What's up, chingu! Any standouts on your HUGE currently watching list? (How do you manage to watch so many dramas all at once?). How is Last Cinderella? I saw a still from the drama with one of the male lead's bare nekkid butt! Nice! But sadly I will not be watching this drama. I dislike Sex & the City-like dramas and the female lead pulling a Demi Moore ...? Not my cuppa, but it's good to hear people's opinion on a show. It just might change my mind, hence the interest. :)

Was going through my friends list & realized we haven't spoken ... not since we became friends at least as far as I can remember. So I'm dropping by to say HI!

Every time I stumble across your profile I have to laugh at your self-description ... pedonoona? Dwl!

Anyway, I see that you're almost done with King of Dramas, how is it? I'm planning to watch it at some point. Have you seen The World That They Live In? Your obsession Hyun Bin is in it & I think it might be similar to KoD in the sense that they give an insider's view of how dramas are made. That's about all I know about it though. If you've seen both, which is better in your opinion?

Last question, you're the 2nd person on MDL who have 0 ratings on their completed list! Were these movies/dramas so bad they warranted NO score? :-)

Rosie, my twin, what's up? I read your review of Breathless a few days ago and it has me intrigued about the movie, but I can't seem to find it on any of my usual sites. Where did you watch it? And what are you watching now? Anything nice?

Hmmm ... Chunhyang, Chunhyang ... I think I downloaded it, but I can't remember where from. I'm sure you can find it online though.

Yeah, Never Forever was great. Had 2 of my fav actors in it, Vera Farmiga & Ha Jeong Woo. Ha was, as per usual, a vision. There's just something about this guy that's ... amazing. His eyes ... they way he looks at people, his facial expressions. He just sucks you in. Love him & he looked particularly handsome in this too, maybe bcuz he had long hair. Anyway, very nice movie. Very poignant, very bittersweet. Wonderful performances by the leads.

A Bittersweet Life, good revenge movie, but didn't have the same deep impact on me like I Saw The Devil. Can be a little slow in parts, but as always LBH delivers to the max. Definitely worth a watch. I'm in the process of rewatching it, but since I've already seen it, other things keep getting in the way.

Really now? I know you think I'm crazy for sitting out dramas that I end up not liking, but it's okay! I know I'm weird like that. I have my reasons! :)

Well, you did watch and like I Saw the Devil which isn't a movie most women tend to flock to. So you might surprise yourself with Old Boy.

Mike He is in a lot of stuff, but my first introduction to him is in Devil Beside You. He basically plays a god in this drama. All the girls love him & all the guys want to be like him. #smdh

I don't mind his character, per se, but I wish my first meeting with him was in a drama or movie that makes better use of his talent (if he has any, don't know yet). He doesn't do much acting in DBY.

You liked Choi Min-sik in I Saw the Devil so you'll probably like him in Old Boy too. While he supported in Devil, he's the star in OB. Give it a chance. Maybe BF might be interested in watching it with you. It's a typical guy flick.

As for Devil Beside You ... very good? Not at all. It's more like watching a bad manga. The acting is questionable & the plot is a bit all over the place. Very soap opera-ish. But I do like the characters and I want to see where it leads to so I'm gonna keep watching although Rainie Yang tries my nerves. Mike He is CUTE. I'd love to see him in a more serious role. I haven't watched any new eps lately, but I probably will tonight. This is one of those dramas that I can take in small doses over time until it's done. For me, it's not one to marathon.
