Xuanji is supposed to be the god of war so from the Heavenly realm, Sifeng is half the reincarnation of the Mosha Xing so from the demonic realm because as mentioned in the first ep, Mosha's soul was split into two, one half was sealed within the crystal lamp. And Hao Chen is a kind of complicated character. I guess he's evil to the ML and FL but he's doing it for his kind of justice and the interests of the Heavenly realm so I guess he's "good" in that way. But the way that actor portrays gives me bad vibes
I saw several days ago a post by the youku on weibo there's quite a lot of side couples, the ML's pet snake with this guy called Ruo Yu, Linglong and Mingyan (6th disciple) and Wuzhiqi and the purple fox. Apparently it's the hottest airing drama right now, comparing the first day of airing of L&D with three miles of peach blossom, it exceeded the views of three miles of peach blossom got on it's first day of airing so unless something goes wrong it should be another hit. Think it's got over 70 million views in China according to baidu as of yesterday. It's been ages since I've read it so I can't remember clearly some of the detail but the main plot is our FL He Yan runs into 3 criminals when she takes a shortcut to see her boyfriend who wants to kill her after having some fun with her because she saw them committing a crime. She kills one of them to escape and then reports on the other two when she manages to flee from them. A few years later, she's married her bf but runs into a guy who looks so much like the leader of the 3 criminals she reported the police to on that fateful night. However she doesn't think it's the guy because he's taken an identity that he couldn't possibly impersonate and she's heard that he's already been executed. Turns out that he's (the male lead Fu Sheng Xing) the illegitimate son of the boss of a once mafia organization which has turned over a new leaf on the surface. Because Fu's eldest brother has died so his dad saved him from execution as he's his only remaining son and made him his heir and now he's bent on seeking revenge on He Yan for what she's done. Then he threatens to torture and kill her husband if she didn't listen to him so he makes her work for him whilst he rapes and tortures her. In this process, she finds out that his closest aide/friend Xiao Wu was actually an undercover cop who is trying to find evidence for the crimes (I think it was the drug trade but I can't remember clearly) the organization has committed. During this process, Fu falls in love with the female lead, forces her to divorce her husband and impregnate her. Story ends with Xiao Wu and He Yan working together to bring down the mafia organization and Fu committing suicide. He Yan finds out she's pregnant with Fu's baby and she gets back together with her husband and they raise He Yan and Fu's child together.

Near the end can't remember the actual episode, technically it's a front to assassinate him so after they kill him she goes back and gets back together with the ML. Most of the action is packed in the final 10 eps so that part isn't the draggy part
