because they dont all have the standardized accent which is heard on national tv, putonghua . Different regions have different dialects ie Sichuan have Sichuanese, Dong Bei - Northeast , unless actor has trained to speak in standard putonghua then they can dub themselves, otherwise it will be dub by voice actor. As well as decsion by producer if they find VA have better sound than actor.

im just in ep two and i just love how they build up the romance of Cai Ping Shu. Also it differs from so many wuxia where the men are the heroes. Here it's basically Cai Ping Shu's male harem >.< who are now the current leaders cough cough. The author of this book also wrote Love Like The Galaxy so THERE IS A LOT A LOT A LOT OF INFO DUMP because they have to condense everything into 40 episodes instead of having the luxury of 60 episodes. There are 2 time lines which you will need to focus - the events leading to Cai Ping Shu's final boss fight and the now.
The past 10 years ago is still affecting the now and will come to a boiling point.

give it time, i read the book and it has multiple layers of motivations which arent known yet. Core story is Ni He Cheng and Cai Pingshu fight 10 years ago, and the current status quo which will combust once certain events dynamoes many hidden plots.

backstory the lord's daughter is the granddaughter of the previous Sect Leader, so they have the arrogance and the usual " the world kowtows at my feet everyone is just a servant to me and should pander to my whims" , so with this identity as to why they are so spiteful is because anyone who opposes them IRRITATES them hence they need to be shoved into mud to know how the world is like, that it should revolve around their "main character" syndrome lol

just started on Xi Tu Lian Xiang. well it's a short drama so the plot keeps plotting like a smutty historical romance lol. Just wondering if there are any other of his costume dramas recommended?I like seeing him in costume

but I only read this novel- the author also wrote Love Like The Galaxy and The Story of Minglan, (i watched those dramas but didnt read the book) She likes to use a 100 characters and everyone has TIED interests etc . In terms of plot and lore and historical world building, it's really good. 8 sects and 1 Demonic sect and plot twist within plot twist.

true and i sorta of stopped the drama half way cos of irl but even coming back to it later I felt that the drama overall covered the necessary points, and they managed to pull the heart of the story - the Qiao Debt and the love between feuding clans, the ties of family across the different kingdom/nations , doing morally right things vs selfish protection .
Though historical dramas always show some kingdom politics/ battles - it was really well done here
I havent watch many of this year's drama offerings but this one gave us the historical romance we wanted to see - the intimacy of a husband and wife and of course finally a damn happy ending for Liu Yu Ning's and Song Zu Er's characters [still baffled at the Demon Hunter's Romance AI ending]
