Best JBL out of all the ones I watched. Read the comment below for spoilers. Story, acting, cast and not to mention…
Honestly, I don't get why this show is so underrated and many commenting this series to be an average one. I was hesitating because of the ratings but glad I watched it. The major plot is: if there are only ten days left in your life, will you hold on to your past or will you let go of the grudges and live the remainder of the life happily? Will you forgive that person who hurt you the most?
Everyone commenting on the vague ending, let me clarify: Right from the beginning, it was hinted that Yuma was some kind of special person...like he survived the drug which Ritsu gave for him to die, then when he wondered if the rain could stop and then rain really stopped, he made the lightning strike the goods of the perverted guy, then saved Meguru when the bottle was about to fall on her, and the ball was in mid-air for a few moments. If these hints are not enough, we see Yuma swallowing the meteor in the last episode(guess it was Masumi's dream). So, Ritsu and Masumi prepared for the worst: either they survive or they die. They were ready to face it. And with all the hints above, they survived. You can read the extra chapter of the manga after watching this which will give a more clear picture of what happened.
Some of the comments said that Ritsu shouldn't be forgiven, but that is Masumi's choice. Of course, Ritsu behaved like crap to Masumi and I hated his character, even though he repented. I don't know why but my interpretation of Masumi's situation is very different. Let me explain:
Masumi was hurt both by his mom and Ritsu. His mom always abused him for being born and borrowed money from him all the time. When given the choice to visit his mom for one last time, he halfheartedly tried to go to his mom but was stopped by Ritsu. He really didn't want to see her, he couldn't forgive her. And then there is Ritsu. He walked all over Masumi
and broke his trust, so much that Masumi couldn't love anyone anymore. Yet, Masumi let go of the past and reunited with Ritsu. Now, look this at Masumi's POV: Will you forgive your abusive mom? Will you forgive the ex who cheated on you? The choice is yours. But, you know, even if the world's end is nearing, some people cannot be forgiven. For Masumi, he could forgive his ex but not his mom. For you, it could be different. And the same goes for me. We will never know until we are faced with a similar situation. By the way, as per the epilogue in the manga, the mom survives.
Just my thoughts, let me know yours.
