For me, I think I will watch it because of Wang Rui Chang!!? And the trailer- It's awesome!! Except for they have…
I am watching Rhydian Vaughan for the first time, and liking him out the gate. (I might have seen Monga, and noticed him). In ep 12, there is a revelation about Murong's birth. This would explain the casting of the character, which is perfect.

I am right there with you. I hope the next twelve episodes are tight, and do not fall into the C-drama black hole of extraneous filmmaking. A lot of the drawn out C-dramas could be told in 24 to 36 episodes, and look like a filmmaker's masterpiece. I have dropped many dramas due to the extraneous filler and flashbacking, slow progress, choppy editing. loud singing.
I think that the drama might also get released in Iraq, so the Director wanted a showcase a solid product to that country. There is a large group of Iraqi names listed in the production end credits. I presumed that their country of origin is Iraq, as I watched the episodes.

The disclaimer at the beginning of every episode, "This story is purely fictitious", is hilarious. I guess that they are telling the viewers that there was no Iraqi/Chinese ancient alliance.
This drama reminds me a lot of the Hollywood movie Enchanted. I laughed a lot, but also feel terrible for the…
