True that. A happy ending does not always mean that the guy needs to get the girl. As long as he's alive and can be happy otherwise then I'm fine with that. To be honest, I don't really think they're going to change the ending just to let his character get the girl because it would be too different from the original novel. They will only focus on his character more but they probably won't change the major details. Besides, the love triangle in this one is quite real so I think I'm better off with his character staying single. :D I'm not a fan of love stories where the fl/ml loves both men/women.

He is and I'm sure we all would have loved Cheng Yi as Yu Mo as well if he were to take that role but I think it's important for actors to take on different type of roles so it's a good thing he didn't take another role similar to Si Feng. Of course in the future I would love to see him in Si Feng type of role again who is kind and gentle but maybe not this early as I want the viewers to see many sides of Cheng Yi as an actor. It will be very interesting to see him as Tang Zhou, a type of character with a personality that is very different from Cheng Yi in real life. A demon catcher with a strong personality and a poison tongue ;P

The opening ceremony will take place on March 16. It was originally supposed to be today but got postponed which made many fans upset because many of them had already come to Hengdian to see Cheng Yi. They cancelled the event at last minute and were only going to have a livestream event. According to the fans Cheng Yi personally suggested that he'd have a fanmeeting event with the fans because he didn't want his fans to go home empty handed (this boy is too sweet). Therefore, the production team abruptly announced the fanmeeting event and Cheng Yi as the main lead in a comment section :D Since it wasn't planned ahead so none of the fanclubs had any preparations done in advance.

Imagine them dropping a bomb and Cheng Yi ends up being the 2nd male lead instead :D I doubt it though because Cheng Yi's position in Huanrui right now wouldn't let him be a 2nd lead.

The look and costume really suits his character as Ying Yuan Dijun. :D I've always wanted to see how Cheng Yi would look in something similar to this and I finally got my wish fulfilled. He looks amazing :3

I seriously hope they won't make it like "The Promise of Chang'an" where he doesn't even get the girl and has a terrible ending.

Since they've changed Ying Yuan/Tang Zhou from the 2nd lead to the 1st male lead in the drama version so I think it's possible that the scriptwriter will change their ending too... maybe??? No one knows :D BUT I'm sure these changes will make novel fans very mad, especially the fans of Yu Mo and their ship. I'm really worried about the antis and novel fans putting the blame solely on Cheng Yi. I've already seen some posts blaming him on weibo and douban already so I hope it won't get worse.

Cheng Yi looks amazing, doesn't he? :D I knew the LAR costume designer wouldn't disappoint the styling for male characters but wow, the styling for Cheng Yi as Ying Yuan really impressed me.

Unfortunately, if they're going to follow the novel then no, Ying Yuan/Tang Zhou won't get the girl. No one knows right now how they will write the story of the drama though. Yes, Cheng Yi is going to be Ying Yuan/Tang Zhou, not Yu Mo like everyone had originally assumed he'd play.

Oh yes, he looked so beautiful in that cave scene. The production team really chose a perfect actor for this role. The way he portrays Si Feng makes me feel like the novel Si Feng just stepped out of the book. His expressions, little actions and movements were so on point.

I totally agree! He really fits with the xianxia theme. He always looks so ethereal in the xianxia costumes. Not everyone can pull off that look. I hope Agarwood Like Crumbs will be another masterpiece like Love and Redemption so that more people will know and love him in the future.

Imagine everyone shipping her with Yu Mo instead :D But anyway, as Cheng Yi's fan I'm really looking forward to this drama and a new refreshing role brought by Cheng Yi. He'll do an amazing job once again :)

I can already foresee how disappointed the novel fans will be if they decide to change the major details. It's only an assumption now. It could actually be very faithful to the novel when we get to see the drama version. I just hope they won't scold Cheng Yi or blame him since the changes were the scriptwriter's decision anyway. But character and career wise I'm glad Cheng Yi took on a very different role like Tang Zhou because Yu Mo would have been VERY similar to Si Feng.

I'm also curious who will be playing as Yu Mo. I'm worried I will have second-lead syndrome. I hope not but Yu Mo's character is very similar to Si Feng and I loved Si Feng to bits so I hope they manage to make Ying Yuan/Tang Zhou likable.

Ikr! I seriously have no clue how the drama version will end. If they're faithful to the novel then our dear Cheng Yi's character won't have a happy ending with the female lead. However, they might change the ending and other events so who knows :D

Tang Zhou has a strong personality and a poisonous tongue ;P In the mortal realm he's a demon slayer. He's likeable too but even if he wasn't I'm sure the writers will make him even more likable seeing now that he's the main lead ;)

Yu Mo is actually the 1st male lead in the novel and his character is very kind and devoted just like Si Feng. Ying Yuan/Tang Zhou is the 2nd male lead in the novel but was changed to 1st male lead in the drama. Sorry if I made it sound confusing. (Note: this can be debated which one is the actual male lead because at the end of the day it all just depends on who you ask because some novel fans may think Yu Mo is the 2nd lead and Tang Zhou as the male lead. Both characters have equal amount of appearances but since Yu Mo ends up getting the girl so many readers regard him as the main protagonist.

Yup, the original novel has a love triangle and the female lead falls in love with Ying Yuan/Tang Zhou at first but eventually ends up with Yu Mo so I have no idea how the story is going to unfold in the drama version. If they follow the novel then Cheng Yi's character won't get the girl but if they decide to change it then I wonder how they'll write the story... I'm so curious right now :D

Agree with Eclipse02 that Cheng Yi looks good in every hairstyle but if I had to choose which look I prefer the most then it must be Si Feng with bangs. That look suited his face so much :3 His new look as Ying Yuan Dijun in "Agarwood Like Crumbs" is to die for! Soooo handsome! I've been overexcited ever since I saw that look and I can't focus on anything right now :D

No, he will play the role of Ying Yuan/Tang Zhou. Yu Mo was the original male lead in the novel so everyone naturally assumed Cheng Yi would play that role.

I have a hunch that it will be "The Imperial Age" or "Deep Lurk" :D If we're lucky and "Dream of Chang'an" gets approved soon then we might even see his 3rd drama this year *fingers crossed* He's an amazing actor so I'm really looking forward to seeing more of his works.
