Yes I'm also like him so I can understand his nervousness too. His friends and even his mentors back in 2016 did say that in private Cheng Yi is really shy and quiet and he's more cheerful and loud around the people he knows. I can tell he is very nervous in these variety shows because there are often many people (strangers) watching while on drama set he's more comfortable because those are the people he meets everyday.

I think him being nervous in front of the big crowd (there are a lot of audience watching them) affects his thinking because he does have a stage fear and fear of public speaking in front of a large crowd. If he's around the people he sees everyday then he's more confident. The staff and his co-stars who have worked with him did say that CY learns the martial arts moves really quickly compared to others.

I always regarded it as a happy ending/they found him alive as well but many people found the iQIYI's version a bit ambiguous as it made many think that LLH was only an illusion but the CCTV's version was more clear in that aspect that he was still alive.

Yup. I also believe it's a happy ending... well... at least he was still alive 3 months later. It wasn't as ambiguous as the iQIYI version and they merged the special episode into ep 40.
