I agree. Actually, other successful detective dramas have also gotten 2nd seasons so who knows maybe this one will also be able to have a 2nd season considering this drama was a huge success.

It is such an ambiguous ending and your version makes sense too. It really depends on how the viewer interprets it

Yes, I also interpreted it like you. In my opinion, they really did find him. And there's always hope for finding a cure because he survived that 1-month period which was originally given to him.

The ending in the extra episode is a 3-month jump when they found him so this means that he really survived (I jumped straight to the last episode so I might have missed something). This kinda gives an open ending to maybe for a possible 2nd season seeing how successful this drama has become. But then again this is based on a novel so 2nd season is less likely to happen... What do you guys think of the ending?

It would have broken 10000 sooner or later but the fast track gave the fans less time so everyone worked extra hard.

All I know that Cheng Yi probably won't be showing his abs while dancing which was suggested by his buddies in the livestream 😂

It seems that too many people are trying to access MLC's fast track from different countries and view the episodes so the site is crashing/having issues. It will eventually work. At least mine had issues but then agreed to finally work.

We did it! MLC just broke 10000 heat index! YAS!!!!! Hitting 10000 on iQIYI is really hard and not many of their dramas get to this level. This is a great achievement.

That's why the C-fans are upset but it has already been decided so I guess there's nothing we can do. The cast and crew have already done their best and I'm thankful that at least many people appreciate this drama.

There are many factors that contribute to the heat index, the number of people isn't the only thing they count. The longer the drama airs the higher chances it is to gain popularity as there will be more people who know about this drama and have more discussion and the heat index will rise. They have so many requirements on iQIYI so just the number of viewers isn't enough. When a drama is fast tracked often times the popularity/discussion will drop significantly in the coming days.

I think some were talking about the ratings/rankings in different charts/heat index in China which is why many C-fans are sad about it. MDL ratings have no significance domestically and China doesn't even count it.

I have so many mixed emotions right now. While I'm happy that we get to see the rest of the episodes faster but for them to do this fast-track to MLC when it has been aired only for 17 days is so wrong towards all the hard work the crew and actors have put into this project. MLC was getting more known by many passersby and the popularity has risen a lot but suddenly they decided to fast track which will affect the popularity, rankings etc. a lot. The show was so close to breaking 10000 heat index too which is extremely difficult to do on iQIYI.

Well, the ending won't ruin this drama for me anyway. The whole story itself is very well written so a bad ending won't change my viewing experience. I'd still love it loads

Yup. They probably don't even know about MDL so our voice can't be heard. Unless they read the YouTube comments. That could be another option to let our voice heard.

They will most likely only read the feedback from the Chinese audience so we international fans can't help much unless you guys have weibo and can write Chinese then you can maybe go to the official page and comment on the posts + interact in MLC related posts elsewhere on weibo and iQIYI Chinese page.
