New drama will premiere on August 10, and they changed MLC's schedule so MLC won't air at that time. Better option for them and they can maximize the ratings for the new drama as well. Both are iQIYI dramas.

True but I guess they wanted MLC to last until next week. Yesterday it broke 9800 heat index so we're very close to 10000. The popularity of this drama has risen a lot and more people are aware of how good it is. Let's hope we'll break 10000 today or tomorrow. 💪

Ratings/rankings wise they should have kept the previous calendar where they planned to air every day until Friday but I do get why they changed it so that iQIYI can air their next drama without much conflicts with MLC's schedule. For iQIYI this is a better solution.

Interesting, thanks for the info! I guess they want to see the audiences' feedback first and then decide which ending to use. Based on the comments, I think the majority wants a happy ending so there's a possibility we might get one. Fingers crossed.

I shared this info earlier but it got drowned in the comments so I'm posting it again. I remember that someone mentioned on another page long time ago that in order for the ratings to be calculated one should update the number of episodes they've watched (if you rate episodes individually) and once the drama is finished you have to change it to completed when you give the overall rating. Maybe we all should try this method because from the stats this drama has been rated quite high but it doesn't show up in the final ratings.

The Knockout was an immense hit, literally everyone in China was watching it so I think it will take some time until another drama can break the record. MLC is currently ranked 3rd on iQIYI based on the heat index for 2023 dramas, just behind "Destined" and "The Knockout". If MLC breaks 10000, maybe it will climb up to no 2 spot, hopefully.

"Content popularity is based on massive user behavior data, through indicators such as current user viewing behavior (including viewing behavior data of feature films, trailers, trailers, etc.), video interaction behavior (including interactive behavior data such as barrage, comments, sharing, and chatting together) , to comprehensively evaluate the user's feedback on the content, and then measure the quality and current popularity of the content itself."

On iQIYI if a drama surpasses 10000 heat index then it's considered a hit drama and so far this year only 2 dramas have managed to do so. Please note that other platforms have different calculation methods so never compare Tencent and Youku to iQIYI's heat index. The highest peak this year was 11 800 which was achieved by the drama "Knockout". That was a massive hit drama.

Yup. The heat will easily drop if they stop broadcasting so it is wiser to update continuously, even airing 1 ep a day is good.
