I just finished this drama and was content with the ending. The reviews and comments are very mixed so we must all agree to disagree. For a drama that was cut from 48 episodes to 40 episodes, there bounds to be mistakes and holes if not done well. I guess in this case, it is the latter. Overall, I enjoyed the relationships between all the characters and their chemistry. To be honest, I did skip a lot of scenes from ep. 31 - 36 that had the evil queen, Miao Rong, and Zhao Xiao. I really didn't need to watch them to know what they're plotting. This is a light hearted drama that tried to make things seem more complicated than they are so just keep it in mind if you want to watch this drama. Just don't expect too much and you'll enjoy it. For me, watching it just for Joseph Zeng, was enough. :P

Honestly, I am only considering watching this because of Lin Yanjun because I'm not really into republican/political drama. Still not over him since Crush, kind of sad he's the SML here. Hehe but he does look so handsome in uniform.

Hmmm, I hope I can change your mind to continue watching this, it's actually not that bad. Yes, the editing is lousy and most of the characters are annoying, but I stayed for JBN and LQ. They are honestly so cute, especially LQ. Anyway, just to add a comment about this episode when he confronted that Gao girl with a capital B, he actually told her off without being too mean about it because he is a gentleman after all. I think maybe when things are translated to English, a lot of the meaning is lost. He told her that he heard how she acted and talked to BN and he can't believe she'd act like that to his wife behind his back. That girl tried to make up excuses that is was BN that was mistreating her, blah blah, and she said "I wouldn't dare..." and he said "Of course, you'd dare.." and he ended with "Maybe you never changed, it's just me who never saw through you". As a woman, I would be satisfied if my husband stood up for me like that because he took the high ground and not stoop to their level. I can't wait for more episodes!

Despite all the negative comments here, I’m actually enjoying this drama. JJY’s acting might not be the best, but she has improved a lot. I only wish that they showed her more with natural makeup, especially when sleeping or waking up. No one has red lips like that all the time. There’s something about Joseph Zeng that I find very endearing ever since I watched his last drama with LJ. I think he looks very regal in costume dramas. Anyway, I can’t wait for the next episodes.

I finally was able to binge through Forever and Ever and sadly, I’m left a bit disappointed. The emotional roller coaster that was One and Only made F&E seemed like a long monotonous path. Although there were some sweet and cute scenes, they were not enough to give me the same emotional attachment as did O&O. I believe that if they were able to make the drama the way the book is written, it would’ve provided better flow and continuity as well as better story telling. Bai Lu and Allen Ren are both great actors and they are the main reason I kept watching F&E.

The first few episodes I didn't really pay attention but starting from ep 6, things got more interesting. I think at the beginning, the ML's face was over-contoured so his face was too angular because he already has very prominent jaw and cheekbones. The contour under his lips also didn't help, this makeup trick helps your lips appear fuller but if you already have full lips like ML does then it's an overkill and just looks bad. Overall, I think ML is a handsome man, just not the same "idol" handsome that people have gotten used to. Give this a try if you're in-between dramas and waiting for Forever and Ever and The Oath of Love. Hahah.

I think your should watch OaO first. Hmm if it helps, don’t look at it as a romance genre because really there isn’t any. More like forbidden love so the expectation of any kissing isn’t there at all.

If you're watching this drama for Zheng Ye Cheng then please check out his other one, Stealth Walker (aka Rose Walker). It's such a good drug/crime/police drama but it's so underrated. He plays a very charismatic, mysterious, and intriguing character.

I'm watching LUTFM for him and so far I've enjoyed his role but JJY's role is just lacking, they made her too naive and gullible. Hopefully she smarten up soon.

You should check out his other drama, Stealth Walker (aka Rose Walker). It's a drug/crime/police drama with a pinch of romance but it's so good!! His role in that is just so charismatic and intriguing. I'm watching Love Under the Full Moon for him and the hope that JJY acts better but so far her character is just so clueless and naive it's unbelievable.

Gosh, so many good dramas lately that took so much of my tears. I've decided on my own that their next drama together will be the next life that they're getting together. I've really enjoyed this drama with all its twists and turns. All the characters were well rounded (even the bad ones). The showcasing of love and loyalty between family members, emperor and subjects, and emperor to his country and people were heart-wrenching at times but amazing all the same. The ending was bittersweet but I think it was necessary to make it more realistic because in life we don't always get a happy ending.
