I've just finished it... And I'd say give it a try! But don't take it seriously, the show itself doesn't. And…
Its a dark comedy/satire so if you dont get sarcams, irony, or satire, yeah def not for you.

same, it was one of the first dramas i actually finished watching lmaoI loved it... i may go and rewatch it aswell…
I always skip around with dramas or drop them before the last few eps but this one was the only one in a long time that I watched from the beginning to the very end with no skips or fast forwarding. Pretty proud of myself and of course of this drama for holding my attention for more than 5 eps.

I was kind of shipping the FL with Mir at some points. Definitely want to see more from the actor.

What a disappointment and a huge waste of time. For a drama that's meant to be all about romance there's was none,…
I get being disappointed after expecting something and getting something else but like...nowhere in the summary does it say it's meant to be "all about romance?" It's a comedy before romance as the tags say and the description itself is pretty messed up, talking more about how she tries to convince him she's not a bad person. I just don't get where you got this was supposed to be a epic romance drama, especially with the reviews and the comments. For me, there was a decent amount of romance and even a love triangle for it to consider a romance.

I definitely respect your opinion though. I just wanted to offer a different perspective for others who might be contemplating watching this. The last 5-6 episodes are pure cheesy romance imo while even the mystery and dark comedy scenes are entertaining enough you won't be wasting your time. It's definitely not Love Aralm or Nevertheless with pure dramatic romance but there's definitely enough for it to be considered romance (kinda funny bc most people hate this drama for a prisoner falling in love with their captor lol).

Also, Yong Jie reminds me of the main male character from the k-drama Cheese in the Trap. They are so similar…
Honestly, you bringing up the ML from Cheese in the Trap completely contradicted your 1st comment which was just a thinly veiled defense of a rapist. Like you said, Park Haejin's character in Cheese in the Trap is similar to Yongjie but he never forced himself on Hong Soel. He's an example of how you can have all this trauma and experiences but still be able to control yourself and idk not rape a person?

So everything you provided, although a nice analysis of his character, does not justify his behavior AT ALL. The ironic thing is everyone hated the ML in Cheese in the Trap despite him being a much better-developed character than Yongjie (and the part where he never raped anyone) yet here we have people defending Yongjie with all their might. They're really trying hard to rationalize his behavior, bringing in stuff like society, homophobia, etc. Like it's plain rape and it's never okay.

Famous Professionals in korea really have their own fandom, even bigger and more respected than idols and actress,…
It's Gojin. I heard about it too and you bring up a good point but its definitely not that exaggerated to the point where they're having fan meetings. And instructors who become that famous where they're a household name is pretty rare. Yes, a lot of them become respected and do earn a lot of money. But much like the CEO trope, people do talk about famous CEOs but I mean, they're not going in droves just to see their faces. I think the parents piling in to see his informational meeting was a lot closer to the truth. The reason why instructors are popular is bc they have information that can help their kid's future, which is different from idol fan culture with its fan meetings, posters, and lightsticks. The beginning scene in ep 1 was definitely doing making light fun of hero-worship in romcoms.

It's not just this one scene btw that made me think this was satire. There are a lot of moments in the drama where you can see characters break the fourth wall, reference popular drama tropes and make fun of them. I could do a whole analysis of works in fiction that are satirical but people disregard as absurd, completely missing the point and the message of the work. Parasite is another one some people call absurd and "would never happen in real life" when they don't even understand what satire is lol.

Also, I disagree with the last part. Crazy love is doing pretty well in Korea, averaging about 2.5% viewership for its past eps. It's just that Business Proposal and 25, 21 has been everyone's favorite for a while now that Crazy Love is having a tough time competing. Hopefully, once both shows end, this will have a chance. SK is not in denial about their crazy education system and cram schools, I mean there's a whole Sky Castle that became one of the most popular kdramas.

Person Nishikido Ryo
first saw him in 1 liter of tears. Really like his acting, he doesn't overact as japanese actors tend to, understated…
"And yes, he's very handsome, good facial bone structure, another thing I find rare on japanese guys in general. Keep the good work!"
I-
Yall are so weird. Was it that hard to just say he's handsome? Do you HAVE to be creepy about it?

Same. I need some conflict and love squares.
Yeah I understood your point. I dislike multiple couple dramas but for a different reason from you. We can dislike the same things without having the same reasoning. Its like if you said you dislike peanut butter bc you don't like the taste of it while I said I also dislike peanut butter but bc I'm allergic to peanuts.

um, i am sorry but i have just watched the first episode. NOTHING is trying to be realistic about this
I didn't mean to say that the producers are using realism as a concept. There's nothing realistic about the plot as I said with the satire comment. I think my first sentence might have confused you. I should've been more specific so I apologize in that regard. I meant that the main couple's relationship (which is part of the plot) is a lot more realistic than other hate-to-love dramas.

Not realism an in the concept of remaining truthful without any supernatural or fiction elements in a work of art. Real as in genuine. I was loosely used to describe the main' couple relationship. It's slower and takes time to develop instead of them falling in love with each other immediately (which you wouldn't know since you only watched ep 1 as you mentioned). If you gave it a try, you will see the more realistic aspects in their relationship progress amidst the absurd plot.

It has a satirical and exaggerated plot but a realistic relationship development between the main couple. So yes, it is contradictory, a total non sequitur, realistic and exaggerated at the same time and that's what people like about it. That's literally what satire is. A serious message or development wrapped up in an exaggerated fashion.

Your comment and analysis is spot on. And i might add that the horror and the campy feel of the show is lovely.
Thank you. And yes, the horror campy feeling is definitely intentional. They also break the fourth wall a lot. If that isn't satire, idk what is. The intro with the overdramatic music and the BGM, in general, seems to be on purpose as well.

Also, an interesting thing to note is that jdramas do this breaking the fourth wall and being exaggerated to deliver a moral lesson thing a lot too. Crazy Love is almost like a jdrama in that aspect. People who only watch kdramas often complain about jdramas being unrealistic and exaggerated so I can see why they say the same about Crazy Love.

Just because someone is outwardly nice doesn’t mean they are a good or kind person inside. Most serial killers…
Oh yeah. Maybe she knew him form back then. There's a lot of details I missed.

The people who don't get this is satire and are calling it unrealistic and cheesy are really making me facepalm. I think others unconsciously understand this and that's why they enjoy it. It's exaggerating cliche tropes like amnesia, pretend dating, hero-worship in order to make fun of the rom-com genre. Even from the first scene, you can see that having Gojin, a math instructor hold a fan meeting as if he's an idol is a commentary on the unrealistic hero-worship dramas like this have. People would never care this much about some CEO/heir of a company in real life, let alone a math instructor.

Satire:
noun
the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.

They were giving her Yakult and stuff. Its really funny how she has the newest Samsung phone but gets bribed by a bottle of Yakult XD. Yeah I wonder that too. Maybe she's just gossipy and bored.

It's called satire.
"the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues."

They're parodying the genre. Even from the first scene. The ML has a huge crowd for his fan meeting similar to an idol despite being a math instructor. Yes, that would never happen IRL. They're making fun of how MLs in these types of dramas are worshipped by everyone despite being the CEO/heir of some random company that would never receive the same amount of attention in real life. If you continue, they even/make fun of people watching too many soap dramas and subverts a lot of overused tropes.

lmao. The journey this drama has taken.

Bullying IS a huge issue in Korea so I get the outrage especially when the victims have been firm in their stance. I don't think she was proven innocent yet so its right to wait for the results of the lawsuit.

Seems like a plot they really could f*ck up /or start to drag halfway through. Hope the writing is really tight…
Agreed. I think this is like Netlix's 4th attempt at tackling a complicated plot like this. after The King Eternal Monarch, Abyss, and School Nurse Files.

My prime suspects as of ep 6:

Segi + Gojin's Ex. Segi's conveniently timed business meetings are kind of shady. What if he's meeting with Segi's ex-girlfriend? Maybe she promised him she would let him have Gotop if he helps get rid of Gojin aka her company's new competitor? The watch dude could be her bodyguard/secretary.

We know that whoever ordered the gambler dude is someone with a lot of money. Someone from Gojin's ex's family? Remember how during her inauguration speech, someone mentioned how her father had a son but let her daughter succeed him bc the son was dumb? I suspect that she dumped Gojin bc she wanted to be the heir (he's poor and daddy didn't approve probably) and now that she did succeed the company, she wants to get back with him. What if the son knew this and did this to Gojin?

Sina's best friend? She's the one who told her to go to the doctor's AND she seemed unusually on board with Sina pretending to be someone's fake fiance. She also doesn't ask any questions despite Sina literally saying she's gonna die, etc.

The old man who does security in the building? He has to be a spy for someone if the team manager woman and the cleaning lady are any indications.
