I completely dropped My Lovely Runner after the sap fest it turned into. I don't mind devoted MLs but the writers need to give us some emotional conflict and gave the lead gradually come together rather than literally die for each other in the 1st ep.

The first actress that played the FL had wayy better chemistry with the ML. I need them in a drama together. After the body switch, our FL turns into a completely different person and chemistry becomes meh. It's not bad but if i couldnt help butimagine how much better the romance would be hadtheh had kept the original actress, Zheng He Hui Zi.

What century are we living in?? The phrase "hope this helps" is all over social media, not just tiktok. Instagram and Youtube both have their own copycat shorts system and attract the same kind of users who then spread tiktok terminology to other places. I never knew this came fron tiktok. If i did, i'm obviously not going to be using it if I wanted to pretend i do not use Tiktok when I actually do. The fact you know where this saying comes from when its all ovee social media says a lot about you. I never said actors shouldn't have any variety in their works. If they were truly dedicated to acting and improving their craft, actors with no prior experience and acting skills in the genre should first take up supporting roles and then move on to main roles. Great actors with varied works like Lee Young Ae, Nam Gongmin, Lee Jehoon all worked their way up and did not mind taking supporting roles for years fo hone their craft. Lee Jae Wook never really tried his hand at this genre and was instantly given the ML role. Same goes for the main actress who has no prior experience whatsoever and got the FL role. It's like any other job, you don't start out as the manager of the place, you work your way up from an entree level position. Please stop putting words in my mouth. You're engaging in what is called a "straw man's argument."

Girl you see people all over this page, on sites like dramacool and reddit forums crying about how the FL isn't a good person who can't just love the ML. They ecen resorted to shipping the ML with his stalker and harsser to get their romance fix (scroll down and see the comments) They are OBSESSED with romance and cannot comprehend the characters in this drama having their own personal motivations and selfish desires besides being lovey dovey. Sure the writing was bad, which I literlaly mention several times if you bothered to actually read my comment and the the comment I made below. Yes, the wiring is bad but it also doesn't help that much of this drama got its hype from Jee Jae Wook and most of the viewers are his fangirls expecting to see romance.

I'll ask you this question. The corporate struggle genre itself is not popular among the general public, Disney is also not a popular medium for people to watch dramas and generally sucks at marketing their shows, none of the others actors in the main cast are well known or have large idol-like fandoms, there were far more popular dramas with well known actors airing at the same time, so why do you think so many people decided to watch this in the first place?? You really don't have to be genius to figure it out. Lee Jaewook is the only known actor in this drama and if you just use your hands and scroll down this page, you'll literally see people saying "only holding on bc of him." You might not be his fangirl but 90% of this drama's viewers are his fangirls.

If that is too hard for you to comprehend, please go read the comments section of similar dramas like Money Flower, Midas, the Triangle, Equator Man, Midas, and Graceful Family. You won't see any dumb comments like "he should have ended up with her!!!" "The FL is so mean, she doesn't even care about him!!!" Because most of the people watching these dramas for the story and skilled veteran actors like Jang Hyuk, Lee Young Ae, Bae Jongok, Lee Boyoung, and Uhm Taewong. There are no teen heartthrob actors for fangirls to ogle at and self-insert themselves into female characters and imagine they're dating him. Like the 2nd male lead of this drama is literally a former kpop idol and never had a single male lead role in his life lmao. Lee Jae Hyuk's breakout role was in a cliche youth school drama. The level of skill and audiences these two will bring to a drama is obviously going to be VERY different from the veteran actors I just mentioned.

Take movies like Don't Worry Darling where one part of the audience were Harry Styles fangirls who wanted to see him naked and go down on someone while the other were your regular movie goers who just wanted a good story and trusted an acclaimed and skilled actress like Florence Pugh. Hence the movie's eventual mishaps. Even Florence herself complained about being reduced from an award winning actress to Harry Styles, teen heartthrob's sex scene partner and disliked the way the movie was being marketed towards his fangirls. In simple terms, the audiences who are going to turn up to watch a Tom Hanks movie is obviously not going to be the same as someone going to a Harry Styles movie. This is all just common sense, I fear.

Another downfall of this drama was having Lee Jaewook as the male lead because he is mainly known for his dramas like Extraordinary You and Alchemy of Souls, which were shows that were hits among teen girls and single women between 20-25 years old. His fangirls who swooned over him in his romances and expected another pure hearted, undying love kind of romantic drama did not get this complicated, mature story about human greed, corporate struggle, rich vs poor dynamics at all. Not that the writing was good anyway. But the odds were stacked against this drama from the beginning bc whoever did the casting was high or something. Someone like Yoon Seungho, Lee Sangyi, Lee Joongi would've bought the right audience. Or even a good rookie actor.

The fan girlies expect their oppas to star in dramas where everything is bright and sunny, the male and female lead loves each other undyingly and without logic, neither of them gets involved with others or cheats and there is no selfishness. Perfect Ken anx Barbie dolls with no desires. Kind of the boring vanilla dramas like Lovely Runner and Love Amindst a Snowstorm something.
