Love your spoilers! Do you know what happening with Qi Heng and his parents during their fight in the previews?

This is such a level headed comment which surprises me that it began with telling people to calm down. Why is it bothering you how other people are receiving the drama if it doesn't affect you in any way. If you dont like what a person has to say you can simply scroll past their discussion. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and allowed to have their own feelings towards the drama. If someone decides to watch the drama in a more realistic approach then they have the freedom to do so.
If you are into the drama and ship Sunny and the Emperor that is perfectly fine but people are allowed to disagree even if it is JUST A DRAMA. If you decided not to put too much thought into the drama that is also perfectly fine as you have the freedom to do so. This is the same for those who decide to do the opposite.

The emperor is a coward and a low life. I’m sorry but I pray a thousand times never to come across such a loser in my life. Forget that he married her with the intention of throwing her away after so he can be with MYR. I can forgive that.

WHAT I CANNOT FOGIVE is that not only were you aware of how my mother died, you had no intention of ever telling me or apologizing to me hoping we would live happily ever after!!!? Ugh! I am disgusted!!!!!!!!!!!
To make it worse, the reason you apologize is not because my mother was wronged, not because my father was robbed of the love of his life and my little sister a mother. But because you love me now and that’s why you feel bad?????

Yeah he just lack empathy for others unless the person gives him happiness in the moment. But it’s a good drama, give it a chance.

He’s a charming psycho that attracts people with his personality. Like a lot of serial killers we know.

He is a toxic man full of so many demons he has no right even thinking of living someone. He needs a ton of therapy and taking responsibility of the lives he has ruined before he can even think of approaching a girl.

Oh Boy this drama is about to go into stressful mode for our leads. I watched the 4th trailer and it feels like the whole world turns against them. Ofcourse any appearance of Qi Heng pisses me the F off.

I hope they move to the country side and enjoy a simple life away from court. Just take her grandma with them.

Does GTY get a beating because he staged a walk out? I cannot wait to see the step mom get whats hers.

GTY clearly said it "We are currently in critical times, (If he kidnaped the daughter) Prince Yong would not publicize it." He never would have taken action if it risked the safety of his daughter especially in those times the Kidnap of a woman meant she likely lost a her chasity. Even Qi Heng himself thought the thought over for a long time he was even tempted until the windows opened in the room he was having the discussing with GTY, thats when he changed his mind.
The reason he likely declined the offer (btw he didnt even say no, he just didnt respond to it meaning he just wasnt brave enough to say yes) was because there was a chance of Prince Yong becoming King in the future and if he did then Qi Heng would have insulted the emperor and likely Prince Yong would have his revenge at that time.

AGAIN... GTY said "While walking in this world, if you are afraid to take 3 steps forward, and take five steps backwards, dont bother planning at all."

If he wasnt willing to risk everything from the beginning then he never should have promised Ming Lan what he couldnt deliver from the start.

Also If he did love Ming Lan like you claim then he should be happy that she is in a happy marriage now. Not going out of his way to ruin her husband who is also her livelihood. Thats not love, thats selfishness.

GTY offered to risk his life for Qi Heng to gain his happiness
and Ming Lan risked her reputation because she believed in his promises. They were both good to him.

We have different opinions when it comes to him that is okay. However his actions now are cowardly and that is my opinion. He should be focused on his own family and career instead of his current unhealthy obsession over the GTY-ML couple.

GTY offered to sacrifice himself and kidnap prince Yong’s daughter for Qi Heng as long as Qi Heng gave him permission and he was too scared and rejected.
Qi Heng doesn’t deserve Gu Ting Ye. He’s a coward through and through.
I’m confused why he’s the angry one when Ming Lang is happy with how things the way they are.

Actually this is also an issue in Game of Thrones where most of the characters start of as 14 years old include Khaleesi (hope I spelled that right) who is 13 years old when she marries Khal Drogo. The issue with this problem is that there are some mature material in the drama thus would be inappropriate to see a real 13 year old and in this case 16 year old having her wedding night. Even if its not as explicit in Game of Thrones as it is in The Story of Minglan. These characters also get pregnant and have to act as mothers or maybe act out giving birth.

PS. GTY has a daughter who already looks close to 13 and if they actually got a 16 year old playing Minglan along side her, calling her mother (Which she eventually will ) I would have had a riot!

That to me is much more uncomfortable to watch compared to watching age appropriate actors act younger than their age.

Thats a good way to look at it though but that was not the reason he did it. He says it himself to Eugine in ep 19 that he did it because "Lee Wan-Ik was gathering information on her" and he wanted to protect her. Still a good reason but it was her body part and her choice to make not his.

Omgoodness yas!!! no toxic masculinity aside from Dong Mae protecting her by shooting her and cutting her hair without permission. However he got beat up for it so I forgive him.

After this weeks episodes I honestly dont even want to hear people talk about how they hat ethis drama or how its boring because you had 10 weeks to drop it.

That being said I knew it was coming and I know it will only get worse. Forced labor, forcing Korean Citizens to fight and die for them in WWII, comfort women, torture... but still I was not prepared for it. honestly this drama now makes me want to throw up at the lack of human decency showed by half of its characters.

I am incredibly grateful to have been given the opportunity to be told this story and to learn so much about such a short time span. I am incredibly in awe in the strength of Korea to have been weakened so much and be able to rise above and become a first world nation in half a century. absolutely grateful to the writer and ALL ACTORS in this drama. A superb piece of work.

Lee Byun Hun completely took over this episode. Gosh the scene he tells the minister of foreign affairs not to beg for his life. I FELT THAT.

To be honest why I like Ae Shin and Eugine together, I wish the drama was only like 10% romance and 90% politics.

But will Yang Mi and Mike also reprise their roles? The Aunt and nephew’s roles are pretty prominent in their story too.
