I anticipate a huge fight in the future if Yanyun finds she and his nephew used to crush on each other from someone else. This is a silly thing to keep from him tbh. Though I don't see the nephew's end game here. Even if he manages to sabotage the marriage, his family will never approve the two of them. Even if the elope he will never have an official career.

I love all three of their friendship dynamic. Its quite different from other stereotypical love triangle but Ye Xian has experienced the most life changing events in the show with very little to no character development to unrealistic levels. 1. He hits the FL with whip then graduates to threatening with a sword 2. Not just her but also her grand mother 3. They let him go so he decides go to a senior official and publicly threaten to kill him while my family is in hot water. 4. Goes to Jail and gets out 5. While his father is on his deathbed prison he decides to storm to the home of the same people he previously threatened with a sword the night before the wedding.
The same people who are keeping him alive are the same people he is hostile towards even while knowing how much they are going/risking to preserve his family's reputation.
If Yanyun is unrealistically cookiecutter the Ye Xian is unrealistically rebellious.
The whole time Ye Xie's dad was sick he was pinning over a girl. He didn't get to say goodbye because he died because he was pinning over a girl. 😂 The guy is nothing if not consistent.
I’m a little disappointed, I thought the female lead and male lead were the only 2 people who didn’t enable the 2nd ML. To be honest I love all 3 of their relationship dynamic even if it’s a love triangle I think they all empower each other.
But the FL broke from that by crying and tolerating his little tantrum. She should have stayed firm with him, he was acting like a child at such a critical time for his family.
It’s not difficult to see how the 2nd ML developed his personality, grew up in a military family as a high ranking noble with a weak physical body. He has insecurities and the world always pampers the nobles. But he has a loving family and friends who support him. Give him some character development please.

I do think it was over the top too. The only explanation is that is either she didn’t know she had feelings for him or because she has such a dysfunctional family and no friends, when she bonds with people she an unhealthy dependency where she tolerates abuse.
Previews for Episode 26, no matters how much the writers tried I cant feel bad for the 2nd ML and his dangerous tamper tantrums. For someone with a useful brain he sure turns it off at the worst moments.
I have a question for book/donghua fans. In flash back scenes Dan is caught by the grand dowager making the SOS sign not the current Dowager correct? Later the current Dowager takes out the previous one. Did they change this detail in the Drama?
