Remind me since I don’t remember but did she know that the prince took away CZs maid and the circumstances?
Im not criticizing the female lead but just sharing that I didn't understand her sympathy for him considering how strongly she felt about women's fate.
Remind me since I don’t remember but did she know that the prince took away CZs maid and the circumstances?
I specifically remember she noticed the maid following him was different and guessed it was due to the jealousy of his future wife. I dont think she knew where the location the maid was sent. But her thought process after guessing what happened was Poor CZ. forced to marry, forced to send away the maid.
But he had the option to stand his ground but didnt because he wanted to cury favor.
I don't remember if the novel shows audience He Yan discovering the maid was sent to the crown Prince although im sure she eventually would have found out because gossip seemed to run rampant in the capital.
I never understood why He Yan especially in the novel was not repulsed by Chu Zhao. Granted most of his villainous acts were a secret but she felt pity for him and not the loyal maid he sent to the crown prince. She felt pity for his forced engagement with his mentor's daughter but he had the option to walk away and live a more difficult life without connection.
Women to him seemed to be means to an end and she knew that but pitied him and not the women he used? not very in line with her philosophy for advocating for women.
So for you it is forgivable and acceptable when he tried to kill her countless times? Or when he strangled her? She…
You might try reading my comment again and please remind me where I said his actions were acceaptible. I think its perfectly reasonable that my criticism of the FL do not equate to praise of the ML. Its weird that connection was made when that was far from what my comment was asserting..
Everyone has a good reason to lie to people and expect no accountablities for their lies. That is not how the world works. Regardless of the reason, a lie is a lie. He didnt know the reason she was lying so naturally he is not going to trust her.
She did seduce him by telling him she married him because she fell for him when he tried to poison her with a truth serum. She also made it seem like she took an arrow for him out of love so he can fall for her. Her actions were very focus on him lowering his guard so she can have some level of control of him. She has said this herself at mutiple times.
She doesnt have to accept him, I would honestly prefer they never end up together. Its just her attitude towards him that makes him seem like a villain from the start when to him she clearly inserted herself in his life when he didnt want her there .
This is where I drop this drama. I know the FL has led a tragic life but she is acting like she didnt trick the ML into marriage to use him to save her brother and lied to him the whole time they knew each other. She also pulled some tricks to get him to fall for her so she can have leverage on him. So I don't see why she is acting like this. Yes people tend to not trust you when you lie to them regardless of how tragic of a life you lived. Im a little exhausted trying to give her grace, it shouldnt be this much work to understand a fictional character.
Too bad the story seemed really interesting at first.
Honestly, I really enjoyed this series up until ep22. This series is really good in general but there are parts…
I agree, it started off interesting and easy to follow but lost its way doing too much in one go. They have a misunderstanding then she has amnesia and then the third prince plot twists.
This is not modern times. Back then people were very mature very young and were getting married very Young too.…
Ive seen childish married people all over social media in these modern times so i am lost on the correlation between time period and my points on human brain development and erikson's stages of development. its heavily backed psychoscience
At her age the FL doesnt even have a fully developed frontal cortex. She is a child herself and children achieve cognitive emotional development largely through mirroring from those around them. She was abused throughout her lifespan while isolated from her family, upon reunion was schemed against, just as she forms a bond with her mother she is lost in her arms. Furthermore she is at the Erikson's Identity vs. Role Confusion stage of development based on her experiences thus far it makes sense that she would have difficulty building relationships. Im actually impressed that she is able to function at her current level.
She needs time to see the world is safe enough to be vulnerable enough to grow attached to others and show love again.
Hard disagree. It's not misogyny as long as it's not uniquely about women. Parents have an obligation to be parents.…
I highly disagree with this point, it is misogyny. If her character was a male feeling uncomfortable to the affections of the little girl, there would be no expectations that he would be fatherly and reciprocating. Yes fathers and mothers have an obligation to show love to their child. But society has always had different expectations on the bond between a child and mother vs a child and a father. There is a higher degree of expectation for women to be affectionate and nurturing than there is for men. This expectation in this case is projected to step mothers, or else they are seen as evil cold cinderella stepmom archetypes.
The life of a woman in old times really was difficult on all levels. Makes me appreciate the rights and privileges I have now. This drama is a reminder of how much I need to be good to myself so I dont give evil people a chance to harm me.
Liu Chang cannot be simply categorized as a villain or a scumbag. His bad deeds are rooted, constrained by historical…
I found it unacceptable that he wanted to force himself on her because she rejected him. His violence towards her alone to me makes him a villain. This is why when he sees her now and gets all heart eyed and woe is me I feel disgust.
SK president declared Martial Law and the military took over the country for a couple of country including the media. Parliament defied it and met to rule against it pressuring the president to cancel Martial Law. Im not 100% but there may be calls for him to be removed as president.
OMG even ZJR's servant/bodyguard has more sense that him. Nevermind a concubine DW is not even fit to be madam of a noble home. The idea of marrying into a noble family in those times is suffocating. Locked up in your courtyard and needing approval to leave. Let the girl travel with her friends, design, and have her own business. He's always trying to tame the girl its so annoying.
