It's impossible to even give half stars on Douban, if this isn't proof of data manipulation, I don't know what…
I've also seen hilarious posts where 1 stars from haters were converted to 0.5 stars!!! 🤡 They seriously just ran an algorithm to halve the rating. They also timed this Douban score on a Friday after work hours so that people can't make reports.

This is a video proof showing Douban changing users' 5 stars ratings into 2.5 stars and changing 4 stars ratings…

Your initial lengthy response escalated this whole exchange. You dismissed my opinions and provided facts as being improbable and then complained that I'm being rude for giving them in an open forum. 😓

It's not wrong to disagree on something. I'm tired of wordplay distortion and this illogical statement. At this point I don't even know what terms to use for fear of you taking it the wrong way.

These discourses are getting long so I will keep it short.

The possibility of future seasons was always hinted at, but this is also not widely known. People are free to take whatever they like as the canon storyline; with or without the special episode. I personally have ignored some special extra episodes because of similar reasons, because they're sappy, or unreasonable, or I just prefer the "official" ending.

Historical dramas often employ unrealistic (by modern terms) medical capabilities; given how upset you are with them, suggesting that you turn to documentaries with factual content is literally a suggestion at face value.

In my opinion, Huaian wanted to live, at the end he wanted to survive so he could remember his family. He went in to the granary and left many things up to fate, but it is also completely within him to give himself openings for survival. Anything from a trapdoor right below his feet, to whatever crazy ideas that the scriptwriter can come up with. There were multiple endings written and shot for this, and even the actors confirmed they do not know which version was aired until it is done so.

The human body is capable of amazing feats. In fact, King Henry V of England survived an arrow in the head, and that was also before antibiotics.

A previous drama used a continuity error to accuse CY of being unprofessional, and used it and personal attacks to smear the entire drama. He was blamed for a mistake that should have been caught in post production in the editing room. You can find more details in this embarrassment and joke of an article on MDL: https://news.mydramalist.com/article/cheng-yi-s-the-journey-of-legend-slammed-for-glaring-blunder If I sound/read as prickly, this is why.

I didn't intend to come off as aggressive, so I will apologize if you took it as an attack. However, you also came off as argumentative, which is why I tried to lay out facts and examples to give an alternate explanation.

Emotional tones are hard to express over the internet, especially in text.

I personally enjoy discussing what I watched with others, friends or strangers, to hear various interpretations and details I have missed. I was expressing why I believe that it is within the logic of the setting to have the protagonist survive. If you feel that is a confrontation and an attack, then any further discussion is pointless.

Has the knife in his neck changed in position? It originally went in at an angle, and then he dropped to the ground with his shoulders tilted up. When we see him later laid down, there's a cut in his collar, where the blade has been freed. The opening of the wound is also visibly widened. Muscles aren't made of cement, so in my opinion, shifts in angle is natural, especially with a bladed edge to widen the cut. Plus, it's a historical with martial artists and traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, pressure points or acupuncture could both be used to relax the muscle and change the angle of the blade.

I also want to mention, a continuity error in CY's previous drama was used as a weapon in a black water smear campaign.

The chest wound: it had to be convincing for the Tiemo King to believe that Cen Pickles was aiming to kill. Since Cen Pickles was the one doing the stabbing, he wouldn't be using a dirty knife and reduce the risks of infection. If he stabbed in a random non-lethal spot, then the Tiemo King would very well add a few of his own, ensuring Huaian's death. If Cen Pickles didn't strike to (visibly) kill, then he would be under suspicion and the entire plot to get the Tiemo King to the Granary would have failed. Chang'an would have been lost. Huaian banked his plan on Cen Pickles' accuracy.

We also don't know to what degree he got burned, I brought up the toad oil because it was a detail often missed and for its metaphor. Nowhere did I claim nor hint that it can heal someone entirely.

In the end, this is a fictional historical drama. If it feels unconvincing to you, then that is your prerogative. We can agree to disagree on that.

If you insist on factual and realistic representation of medical science, then perhaps documentaries are better for you. Even in modern day medical themed dramas, made in the US, the medical realism is often a big miss.

As I said, these injuries were already discussed in depth by medical professionals. But since the legitimacy of a PhD is debatable on the internet, perhaps you are a better expert in this field. If so, then all the power to you.

Neck wound - it hit the muscle and dodged the carotid artery. He also spent a long time recovering in a chair.
(If you have xhs/rednote, indepth details here http://xhslink.com/o/1B0pgBULiLk)
Chest wound - depends on depth, the abdominal aorta is at the back of the area, if it was deep enough then it would be fatal. Also take into consideration fire cauterization.

Toad oil exists, it can be found in Japanese folklore and history as a traditional and highly valued remedy. Many ancient remedies are lost to time, some are only recorded in old texts. There is no need to scrutinize everything through modern lens.

Lastly, let's also be real, all protagonists have plot armor to see them through to the end of the drama. If the protagonist dies then there would be no drama. Otherwise, Huaian's actual armor seem to be failing him quite often since he kept being caught by plot twists.

This might be shocking, but it is possible to survive a stab in the chest and neck. Check out the location of the injuries and the proximity to major blood vessels. Medical practitioners have given their input on this on various social media.
Also, everything is in the details. That potion given to him in the cell, whether it is Huaian or not, is probably the toad oil mentioned previously, which is an ointment for burns.

I am totally think that those who said WQFG is immoral simply doesn't understand this drama or they are very bias…
They also said QingTong deserves someone who loves her deeply, aka QingCheng who expresses his love clearly. That it's love so powerful, he would rather die alone than kill her. 🫠

I mean, I don't disagree. QT and QC absolutely deserve each other. 🤣🤣

But personally, I draw my line at all the lying, kidnapping, imprisonment, physical controlling, reputation smearing and scapegoating, gaslighting, etc etc. Those are absolutely not attractive features in a potential partner. But to each their own.

This is a very good point! CY's acting is very layered, it can be difficult for some people to see, if they want to see. Sometimes it's not the exaggerated theatrical acting that best portrays a character, but the muted and restrained responses.

Don't let them confuse and bully you with a strawman argument. 🙄Randomly listing story elements in a fictional work has nothing to do with whether Fugui is a moral character. They're just throwing a word salad at you.

If Fugui is really immoral, he would have squashed 12580 like a bug in episode 1, and we wouldn't have this nonsense.

A few random examples:
- when Fugui confronts Qingcheng, ignore the efx parts.
- Fugui and Qingtong in the Cold Pool
- Fugui and Qingtong meeting in the prison
- Fugui talking to his father about the purpose of the Soldier

Are you sure we watched the same drama??

Random blurs can be found every time the camera cuts away but Fugui is being addressed or is doing the talking, and the important emphasis is on his reaction, not another person. Seriously, this happens a lot.

Don't give the writer / producer any credit in this, if he had his way, the character of Fugui would be completely…
Using Chinese is very cute.

While I'm indeed a fan, I am also a drama fan. And most importantly, I have watched the donghua. From this perspective, Fugui is one of the only characters to remain true to their character from the original IP. Fans are outraged because of how badly Wang Yixu's 魔改 has butchered the characters (among other things). The biggest example is Qingtong. She has been 黑化, enabling and excusing her siscon bro (who never originally existed) to do all kinds of evil, and really should change her surname and become Tushan Tongtong since she has usurped the Tushan Foxes powers in her one step to max level. That is barely the tip of the iceburg.

It's not a matter of being a CY fan and "let it go", how droll, but rather, to raise awareness that this producer is rotting everything he puts his hands on. It would be a great benefit to do a casual search on the guy, because in the end, I'm just a random anon on the internet.
