Could you expound and tell us why, exactly, it "sucked"??? I am not questioning your right to dislike the show.…
Miki Koichiro is a legend. Whatever the dude touches becomes pure gold, like I said earlier. He managed to make The Pornographer/Mood Indigo stuff consistently exciting and absorbing over 2 series, one feature movie and 2 shorts. The live action version of Given and the 2 seasons of The Man Who Defied the World of BL were also exemplary. He always works with very good actors also. He is one of my favourite BL directors.

If you think of it in retrospect, even the way Ritsu scared/blackmailed Masumi away from him once Masumi started stalking him was kind of for Masumi's sake somehow. He thought Masumi would find someone else better than him.

As for Ritsu, I am one of those commenters who kept saying from day one that Ritsu has always been a lot more complex personality than the superficial observations about him would suggest.

He has never been evil, just an unscroupulous player, but he never intended to hurt anybody. And I think he really loved Masumi even back then, and he was honest when he told him he was special to him. Like I said down there, apart from sleeping around, Ritsu was a very caring emotional support for Masumi (see the new year's eve scene, and I am sure there were many others.

You are a little behind in SJW slangs. Yeah, toxic is still pretty much in fashion but please sprinkle your comments with a bit more "red flag" if you eally wanna sound like a woke keeping up with the times. Lol.

Btw I guess your interviewee vopuches for A) as well.

For me, when it comes to series that are on Viki, I look at their ratings. They are are usually spot on for me…
I don't give a fuck about ratings, this comment was made just exactly to show how insignificant they are most of the time. I always go, watch and decide myself. When I saw this was made by Miki Koichiro, I knew I was gonna love it. Whatever the dude touches becomes pure gold.

Feel like a lot of the conflict could've been avoided if in the very beginning Ritsu was upfront with Masumi.…
Ritsu was upfront with Masumi. He did not have a convo with him like that, because he presumed Masumi knew all about him, as he clearly did. Masumi started this relationship with Ritsu knowing who he was, because he thought he could change him. He said that repeatedly.

If Ritsu were so persistent to double-check with Masumi, saying things like "You know I am like this, and I am not gonna change for you" - btw it is a pretty unrealistic expectation from a player - Masumi might have refrained himself from starting the affair with Ritsu. But that would have meant this six month, which later turned out to be the best and happiest period of both of their lives, never happened. Apart from sleeping around, Ritsu was a very caring emotional support for Masumi (see the new year's eve scene, and I am sure there were many others)

Like someone already pointed out, there were numerous hints Yuma was a miracle boy. That is why he did not die…
When there are continuous suggestions of the supernatural then fat chance they are there for a reason. He survived a deadly pill while Ritsu insisted he had stopped breathing previously and it started to rain and thunder just right there and then when he was so angry. Of course it was made to be dubious and questionable to keep us off balance.

I have just had a look at the reviews. An angry bird gave the show an overall 4.5 and 1.0 for the story just because they hated Ritsu.

What a fucked up kindergarten sandbox this page could be, Christ on a bike.

The Open Ending as a Rorschach testIt's occurred to me that an open ending is like a Rorschach Test, insofar as…
Like someone already pointed out, there were numerous hints Yuma was a miracle boy. That is why he did not die from the euthanasia pill, that is how he could create rainstorm and that is how he could stop a falling bottle and hanging it in the midair. And that is why he was so happy and laid back when he parted Masumi and Ritsu, telling them they were gonna meet again.

Don't worry...BL's never seek medical professionals for their mental problems...they seek dick...magical dick…
Seeking psychiatric help for mental problems in Asia is generally still a big no. They regard mental health issues as something that is a sign of weakness and kind of shame brought up on themlesves and on their families.

Also the 'if it were up to me, I'll do you all day' literally made me spit out my drink lmao
I was watching on Viki too but I have checked it on GagaOOLala as well, where it is subbed as "all day, all night".

Sigh. The number of uncomprehending comments over how people still do not understand why Ritsu did what he did blows my head. The problem is that some of you do not even try to understand him. A freak down there could even write such outrageous shit that those who proudly enjoy sex with multiple persons are disgusting. This board where people are always so quick to condemn anything mildly offensive, this did not even raise an eyebrow. CoNeTrIC was totally spot on below: "And, if these comments are anything to go by, few people can appreciate or relate to personal ethics that isn't conventional or black & white".

Ritsu is a free spirit who was genuinely in love with Masumi; he just could not change his non-monogamous nature. And he probably still cannot, even if he is most likely to make an attempt at it, once they are reunited. That is why Masumni said they might face hardship even if they survive, because he counts with this risk, among many others. Ritsu broke up with Masumi, because Masumi was not willing to pursue this non-conventional relationship with him, but it is clear that Masumi is the only one he ever loved, even if he loved him in his own way - and he was the only one who sincerely and selflessy loved Masumi too. And when the world came to its end, Ritsu decided to reunite with his only love, and made several efforts to finally make him happy.

But no, for the moral purists conventional monogamous relationship is the only acceptable format, everything else is detestable. Of course you don't understand this story. And it is indeed funny to see how some butthurt folks still insist that Masumi deserves better and he should carry on sulking. Fffs have you listened to the narrative? He wasted the last 10 years of his life doing a job he hates and isolating himself from the world out there because of a botched love, and you think he should still stay miserable and say no to Ritsu because that is what the bastard Ritsu deserves. Holy shit. Like Japanese movie "His" and the Thai series "I Promised You the Moon"  this show separates the audience to two camps: those who can reflect on the past and capable of forgiving for their own sake and those who are entrapped in their own grievances, keep nursing their grudges and rather hurt themselves than letting mistakes go.

And this never-ending stupid moanfest about the side characters. Good lord, out of 8 episodes only the 5th concentrated somewhat more on Meguru and Yuma, Madoka had 3 minutes in episode 6, Yuma and Meguru had about 5 minutes in the finale, apart from them the rest of the supporting characters literally had nearly walk-on roles. Everything else was all about Ritsu and Masumi in the present or in the past, and you go on and on whining about the show allegedly concentrating on the side characters, which is objectively not true. Meguru and Yuma had important roles also to get to know more about the main leads' backgrounds as well as the outcome of the plot, but no wonder you don't get the narrative if you are skipping important characters. The ending is not open, even if the director decided to go on that somewhat symbolic route. Yuma finally saved the world from something he might have caused himself as a Wonder Boy out of his deep sadness. What Masumi and Ritsu see at the end is the sunshine. Up until then the sky was almost always cloudy.

the friends hooking up thing is explained later in the webtoon, presumably the drama will address it as well.…
It never ceases to amaze me when people come to a debate board and freak out when their bs is contradicted. They seem to think being entitled to their opinions literally means they are entitled to their opinions unchallenged.

A really frightening state of things in this snowlake/safe space new world.

When you think about all of the clues we are given about Yuma, the ending doesn't seem so open ended, after all.…
Thanks for this. I have not read the manga but I could come to the same conclusions without any doubt. The number of clueless comments under MDL once again is depressing.

I am rewatching episode 1 and I am slightly confused. Ritsu says he wish he could study literature instead of…
Ritsu probably did not want to reveal to Masumi at the beginning that he was a love child of a single woman and made that story up.

omg I just saw the trailer I need this!!!
I have read very good reviews about it. The previous teasers and trailers were also very intriguing but the latest one from two days ago literally gave me chills. This must be a hell of a journey. It gives me gay Sleuth vibes on steroids.
