The quality of this show is not consistently good and it is understandably devisive, but good lord, people being pissed because a mystery series that is meant to be confusing and puzzling by default apparently confuses and puzzles?

For a low-budget production it is actually quite polished and slick, the pace is good, the cast is able and the narrative is quite interesting so far. Nothing groundbreaking but enjoyable.

I am n ot sure it is always up to the service provider. Kinn Porsche and Dear Doctor were airing there and they had decent subs. This is an AisPlay production and they usually provide the subs for their shows. Gaga subs are not always bad. For Smeantic Errot for instance, they had better subs than Viki.

There is a clear difference between intoxication and incapacitation and you don't have to be a Noble prize-winning brain surgeon to know which is which. A lot are happening, This sort of thing is called character-driven drama but judging from the extremely clueless comments you have sprinkled here it is clear that you don't understand what you are watching.
I don't know what is more immature, skipping scenes or subsequently wondering you don't know shit. From episode 5 and 6 it is obvious the new characters are essential for the narrative.

Episode 4 was an important introduction of Masumi's past as well as an interesting insight into how Ritsu was apparently his soulmate and emotional support before ending on bad terms, it also created opportunity for character development as in the present Ritsu kind of makes self-sacrifice - apparently out of pure care - in order to stop Masumi from doing he does not want to but feels his duty to do.

Episode 5 introduces not only a very intersting new character but an exciting new dynamic between Meguru and Yuma. It is also blatantly obvious that Meguru's arrival is a key moment to get to know something about Ritsu's past, as they are clearly connected.
