US laws are weird and reggressive. This board seems to be predominated by such American viewers who seem to think that the world revolves around the US and their stupid laws. It is spectacularly rampant when it comes to drunk sex or age consent in shows, and they feel entitled to interfere and acclimate their standards. One of the most atrocious forms of cultural imperialism I have ever seen. Personally to me a country with such insane gun-carrying regulations and abortion bans (in some states) for pregnancies resulted by rape or incest is certainly not a norm to follow, but even so I doubt they have reggressed that much to penalize every drunk sexual intercourse as rape.

I am a middle-aged guy who had more drunk sex than sober in my life. Like I said above at least 80% of my sexual intercourses involved booze, sometimes mutually, sometimes only me was drunk, sometimes the other way around, so don't lecture me about alcohol consumption or drunk sex. As long as the person is conscious and able to have a lucid conversation with you, then they are able to give consent. It is not rocket science. Whoever says that being drunk and giving consent are mutually exclusive is either just plain stupid or never been drunk or never had sex or probably all of these.

Drunk sex is a part of mankind since forever, that is what bars, night clubs and parties are there for. People drink to lower their inhibitions and then have sex with whoever they like. I am getting sick up to the back teeth with the puritannical moral code preachers here. If you don't like drunk sex then feel free no to practice it, but stop telling others what to do or what not to do. None of your business.

If someone is black out drunk that is a completely different story, but that is not the case here, neither it is in most cases when MDL puritans have meltdown about it. And no, in most civilized countries alcohol consumption is no excuse for crimes.

A considerable fraction of the BL audience (potentially virgin schoolgirls who have never consumed alcohol) seem to genuinely believe that alcohol is a kind of love potion that initiates metamorphosis and transforms you into someone else. You do not have sex with someone you are not attracted to just because you are drunk.

Seriously how dumb one has to be not to grasp from the dialogue above (it is clear from the conversation already, but it is even more clear if you watch the scene) that a guy overwhelmed by his cheating bf and abusive but demanding mother on a drunken night decided to give in for another guy he has aways considered an uncaring playboy - but to whom he has always been attracted, yet until now he has managed to resist - and now he regrets his decision the day after, because he feels he lost his dignity? You just need a little more comprehension skills than a hamster to get it.

One more for the schoolgirls who probably have never sipped a glass of beer. Alcohol lowers your inhibitions and helps you to do things you want to do but you are afraid of doing (for various reasons) when sober, and not things you dont want to do.

Irrespective of how differently or less well the plot was handled in the show, it should be obvious for anyone with 2 brain cells that the sex was totally consensual and Uea is upset the day after because he gave in to King.

Another show that is likely to be lambasted by the stupid consent police for no reason. Uea clearly wanted to have sex with King, he lowered his inhibitions by drinking and he only freaked out the day after because he had given in for a guy he has always thought to be an uncaring player.

People constantly have consensual drunk sex, at least 80% of my sexual intercourses were like that. Get over yourself.

It does not depend on the channel, I guess. The subs for KinnPorsche or Dear Doctor were fine.

From this abysmally simplistic and purist write up it is quite clear you do not really understand what you are watching, to put it mildly. No offence, but this drama is clearly a lot more complex than this black and white mishmash. It is not the fault of the story that it is too layered for you.

And they keep the novelty going that in their inner monologues they are thinking about the same and they say the same words and expressions. Brilliant.

She only called him because no one else could help her at this stage, so she did it out of pure selfishness. She has never thought she had to apologize to her son for what she has done to him over the years.

As for Ritsu, I have been saying since day one that he is a much more complex personality than the cartoon villain people try to project into him. A selfish and uncaring person who quite possibly loves Masumi as much as an unapologetically bad person like him can. What he did in episode 4 certainly did for Masumi.

It is not a job. Viki subbers all do voluntary work. All we get is the monthly Viki pass membership in return, so we do not have to pay for content.

It depends, I would say. I am currently subbing this and Utsukushii Kare season 2 on Viki and I usually have a look at them both before translating each line, sometimes it is the other way around. For Semantic Error for instance Gaga subs were generally better.

I became a sinner that one day I decided to give up on my virginity lol. If you meant "subber", I have been fansubbing BL shows for a while for an external BL group as a hobby. And one of the subbers in that group was an experienced Viki subber. The Viki staff then made some research on my work, then they accepted me and gave me that project.

Since then I have also subbed The Novelist - Spring Life, Light On Me, Bridge of Destiny, My Sweet Dear​, Oxygen, You're My Sky, Old Fashion Cupcake, Eternal Yesterday and My Tooth Your Love on Viki too, and now these two I have mentioned above.
