I am terribly afraid Gus is not going to make it. Up until episode 8 I was sure it is Long and Joke who are gonna die, but after his convo with Art in the car foreshadowing his fate I am not sure anymore. They may die too, but fat chance Gus dies along with them also.

Even this one had good writing up until the 10th. Although it lacks the sharpness and refreshing originality of her earlier works, it has some interesting subjects, like one of the main characters' PTSD. She should have dealt with that instead in more detail.

It is particularly disappointing because it is coming from Lin Pei Yu who has always been notable for her original concepts and welcome avoidance of bad tropes. I don't know what happened to her.

I have plenty of Asian friends (and lovers) and they all confirmed it is still very common there for parents to beat their kids even in adulthood, especially when they feel the kid brought shame on the family, and they never defend themselves or fight back. Actually you could repeatedly see this in Thai lakorns. So it is not remote from reality at all.

The problem is not that they show it. What makes my piss boil is that they always justify it and sweep it under the rug as if it was normal. I cannot believe there is not just one filmmaker who genuinely believes it is not ok and it is time to challenge it in a drama. But it just never happens.

I disagree slightly about the side couples. I liked Big A and Ming Re. But the Ye Qi Ran and Bai Quing matchmaking was both needless and highly unpersuasive.

bruh a het wedding in the finale THE ENDING DANCE ALL THIS TIME WAS FOR THIS HET WEDDINGthey put the family pics…
Honestly, I don't think it is worth a second season. If the parental abuse had addressed and called out, if Bai Lang's PSTD had further elaborated, if RJ's conflict with his parents was handled in more detail, if the stories of the two side couples were left on a more open note... then maybe. But no. Everything was rushed and/or swept under the rug.

Daddy beats his son for weeks and makes a tantrum in front of the whole family, but we are supposed to swoon over for him playing chess with his son with gloomy face and reserving a restaurant for 4. Go and fuck yourself.

And who's marrying at the end? Ye Qi Ran and Bai Quing, the couple we could not care less about. Sigh.

This show was very good until episode 10 but in the last 2 it went rapidly downhill.

It is strange btw, because when I go into the watchlist and try to start episode 12 from there it is not possible. "Available today". Where did you find this link?

I have both GagaOOLala subscription and Viki pass, but this show is not available in my region on the former platform and this always comes later on Viki. But all I see is that finale is 40 minutes long. So it is either cliffhanger or rushed ending, I guess.

Title Choco Milk Shake Spoiler
So now Milk and Choco can come and go as they please? I don't know, in my opinion episode 10 as the ending made…
It is quite obvious episode 10 was meant to be the original finale and the creators came up with an additional one to deliver some sort of happy ending, seeing how popular the show has become and how demanding the fans were. The long delay between episode 10 and 11 indicates that too.

That’s strange. I wonder if someone at Gaga fucked up.
It has been brought forward to 20 December on Viki as well, so this cannot be an error.

Try practicing punctuation and spelling.
Believe it or not, it is not mine either, but that is not an excuse for using no punctuation. I go around saying whatever I want, because I am also allowed to have opinions, including to call out illiterate twonks when I see one. Deal with it.

Is it just me, or could this whole series be seen as a political statement? I mean, it's probably not a coincidence…
Aam is well-known for his oppositionist stance against the current Thai political administration as well as the general Thai social structure, so it is clearly intentional and the plot is a political allegory in istelf.

This episode gave a curiously effective mix of comedy and dramatic emotions, with several moments of unique dark, black humour.

Title My Tooth Your Love Spoiler
After watching episode 11 and the previews for the last episode, I feel like there's going to be a season 2 like…
The problem with the abusive father arc is only partly because a much better and much more relevant aspect (Bai Lang's PTSD) was seemingly sacrificed at the altar of this horrendous cliché, that is otherwise totally out-of-tune with the atmosphere and vibe of the show so far.

The other and much more serious problem is that once again it is normalized. An adult and self-sustainable young man lets himself beaten up to the point of having serious and lasting scars by his sadistic father, and he still begs for approval instead of telling this monster to fuck himself. I am sick up to the back teeth that parental abuse is always justified in Asian shows. Here the mother says "like father, like son". No one stands up to themselves against this fucker. In "About Youth" an angelic boy was abused by two goddamn awful parents who were never called out for their behaviour, on the contrary their continuous terror and tormenting their child was reinforced by other characters ("All parents love their child, the child however does not always like their methods"). This makes me fucking livid.

Why the hell cannot we see just one occasion where this changes? Why cannot we see just once a self-conscious gay man to say "you are not my father if you treat me like this"? The only acceptable outcome would be the father being called out and sent to his Damascus Road and make him apologize, but I take the bet it is not gonna happen again. I am 100% sure they are gonna find some rubbish excuse and sweep his abuse under the rug.

And don't even start this "different culture" and "importance of family bond in Asia" bullshit others have already come up with. No one is more open to different cultures and traditions than me, but that has imits and does not include condoning abuse. This treatment of children as your property and that your parents are always your parents never mind how physically and mentally abuse you has once been the standard in the western world also and it has changed. So don't tell me that just because it is Asia it has to stay like this till the end of the world. And dramas would be the percfect instrument to start to change this mentality. I would be the last person to say that fictional shows need to be educational all the time, but the fact no show ever tries to go this route just once is infuriating.

And here we go again. Abusive, sadist father who beats his gay son and the filial son takes the abuse and begs for his approval instead of telling the fucker to die alone then and rot in hell.

Christ how I hate this in Asian shows. And they cannot stop with this shit. I wish the proposal scene in the preview came as a consequence of the father being kicked to death by the horse, but I have no high hopes.

I am very disappointed. I liked this series so far, but this horrible cliché was totally uncalled for, and I really did not excpect it from Lin Pei Yu.
