This is the typical gaslighting technic of Asian dramas to whitewash, justify and even romanticize parental abuse by trying to portray it as a form of care and love which is a disgusting lie.

Scent has just returned to his home after graduation. He apparently studied abroad and it is very likely he has no idea about the shady and dodgy actions his father and uncle clearly made behind the scenes.

There is some jealousy from Rome considering how many people favour Jack over him and his father using the usual despicable Asian parent pressure technic of praising Jack over his own son.

But in spite of all that, even if Rome is frequently cocky with Jack and tells him off for his mistakes, he seems to be willing to maintain a better relationship with Jack and he does not seem to mind this new family thing at all, whereas Jack is quite determined to close Rome out of his life. He only involved him into the play because he had no other choice.
So all in all this "cannot stand each other" is not exactly mutual - Rome is more open-minded.

I have no problem with flawed characters. On the contrary, I very much prefer this over Snow Whites and Evil Stepmothers a la Disney, but there are different levels of human flaws and one can still point these out. Rome is much less flawed, a lot more mature and generally better person than Jack, Dean or Raffy, for instance.

He is actually a jerk towards Rome who apparently did nothing wrong to him and he is using Raffy unscrupulously with no regards to his feelings. He well deserves those names. Not that some of the other characters are better than him, but he is certainly a deeply flawed person.

Traumatic my arse. Jack is a grown-ass adult - yes, uni students are adults - who has been living separately for quite a while. His parents apparently divored quite a while ago as well. Reacting to this situation like a 10 years old moppet by ghosting his mother and being a jerk to Rome is just childish and immature, simple as that. Hamlet was a different case and in a completely different historical age and in a very complicated family background, but anyway yes, Hamlet didid not have very high EQ level either.

Sulking that mommy remarried and refusing to visit her because of that, plus taking it out on his stepfather's son who had no say in this relationship either is the emotional intelligence level of a 10 years old.

I think Pai is going to leave the company regardless even if he returned for now and Tim and him will eventually make the business inolving Tim's architect degree - as they originally planned, and North and Yu will take up the mall. The reason grandfather is having North and Yu trained there is him preparing for Pai's departure, I guess.

Ikr. They always make the son/grandson apologise. Even in Love in the Moonlight the sicko writers had the nerve to make Saenkeaw apologise to that human garbage pseudo-father who deserved to be executed by gunfire.

Actually this is one of the rare occasions when I am not fully disappopinted in a family reconciliation. Yes, Pai forgave his crap family way too soon, they are not worth a dime and they don't deserve forgiveness. But at least Pai properly stood up for himself, told them off and called them out for all their emotional negligence, how they treated him like a money-making outsider instead of a family member and how they abandoned him in the worst moment of his life. At least he made them feel ashamed of themselves and at least the shitty grandfather was the one who apologised and asked for forgiveness from Pai and not the other way around. Not the best, but still a lot better than one would hope from an Asian show . Honestly I expected worse.

Those who are still whining over Tim being forgiven and for the lack of long angst you are getting increasingly annoying and tedious. If you still cannot comprehend that Tim - no matter what he did and being the cause of the basic conflict - was in a paradox way the only person who physically and emotionally stood by Pai throughout, then you are a hopeless case who does not understand anything.

Too bad this ic coming so infrequently. A by turns hilarious and touching gay sitcom with occasional but always well-pointed lapses into seriousness. The characters are wll-drawn and likable and the conflicts are really engaging. And all these goodies despite a short running time.
To me the absolute highlight was the plate of curry rice argument episode (3).

What is really good about this show is that all the 4 main protagonists behave consistently and in line with their characters whether the said behaviour is actually reasonable or not.

But the angry MDL kids want to see long angst because Pai playing the distant, inaccessible and unforgiving Ice Princess and Tim remorsefully suffering and crying on his bended knees while pouring ash onto his head and tearing up his sackcloth is the only scenario that satisfies the bloodlust of the vindictive BL fangirls - feck cares it would be totally out of character from either Pai or Tim and would add nothing to their growth or development.

I am actually very happy the writers did not sacrifice the characters' logic to give in to them. My only concern is they are likely to gloss over the horrendous grandfather and the useless parents issue in the best Asian "your family matters at all costs even if they are human garbage" tradition.
