It's actually getting quite frustrating and sadenning to watch the series...
I think that's the point of the show. They are including these things to highlight how retribution and revenge are often empty and sad experiences. As Bitna becomes more human with her love for Da On, her feelings on revenge become more complicated. I do feel you though, it is hard to watch even though I feel like it is intentional.

I think I find it so intresting to read comments sometimes. Because I am a bit surprised by the detractors saying there is no romantic development. That it's too slow. For me, it's the perfect pace. They've only known each other for 5 days, they are developing a natural progression from a working relationship, to a friendship, to a romantic relationship, which feels very authentic, in a way that we don't always get in queer media these days.
I love slow burns, and I love slice of life because often this is how it actually is in real life. I think that this show just might not be everyone's cup of tea, which is how it is. But I do think it has a lot of merit for a lot of folks, myself included, and it is certainly not objectively bad if it doesn't work for you. Very obviously the production really cares about making quality art, which to me is refreshing.
I can't wait for next week where given the preview there will be more development in JaneRyan's relationship!

Besides. Its day 4 of interning. What do u expect? Them to hook up?
I never said that you were anything I said you are getting heated over stuff that doesn't matter in the end, that's all. And you can absolutely circle back or never watch it again. That's your prerogative. But again posting public opinions means you are opening up yourself up to responses.

I did in fact read the essay. I think you are getting too up in arms over something that, ultimately does not matter. It's a slow-burn slice of life comdey. Things will move at a snail's pace since the entire plot revolves around growth. And it did have growth and progression. We got more insight into Jane. Ba-Mhee's character progressed and we got insight into her. As well as Pie having more depth. There was also some nice movement in Jane Ryan’s relationship. If it's not enough for you fine. But also you posted a public opinion with incorrect information, people are going to challenge you on it.

Useless episode that got us nowhere. If you're watching on YouTube watch the 4/4 episode only and you're good.
I disagree. It contained a lot of character development for many of the characters, including more insight into Jane, Ba-Mhee, and Pie. Also, it's a slice-of-life slow burn. There will be many more episodes like this. It might just not be for you.

such a weird choice to have OffGun in this kind of show ^^' why is Gun so stiff, is it his character or bad directing?…
I think it's bad directing. We know how talented he is, but what he is comfortable with is drama. And I think he gets in his head that he's bad at comedy so he doesnt feel as natural. A good director can help with this. I don’t think Golf is skilled enough to get his actors to where they need to be. I know he's capable he's been funny in other roles, so im going to chalk it up to the script and the directing.

No one is sympathizing with him. What are you talking about?🤣
Yeah, I get it. I'm sorry you had a tough childhood too. Survivors are not a monolith, I just wanted to share why it touched me personally. I think it's important to show all sides, but I really do understand how that could be triggering.

I think though, that this part of it is never shown. There are lots of stories of abuse out there and I've never seen anything personally reflect my own feelings before.

But yes I do agree that it's sometimes frustrating that other people try to push us to forgive our abusers, or even understand or sympathize with them. It's a very personal thing and every survivor is justified in whatever feelings they have. But I think the way the drama framed it was just that, it's personal, and no one is right or wrong in how they feel about their relationship(s) with their abuser(s).

I hope you are doing okay now, and I think you should be very proud that you were able to come out the other side and break the cycle of abuse. That's a big fucking achievement.

I have to disagree. I adore this part as a survivor. It really effectively and honestly highlights the often very complicated emotions that child abuse survivors have with their abusers. Which is almost never talked about.

TW: Personal story about abuse.
It's not so simple most of the time. I can be angry, and have grief for myself, but also have sympathy for my dad. He had a terrible life, and his choices have made nearly everyone turn away from him. My dad will never truly be happy, and as a human, as a child that makes me incredibly sad, despite how he's hurt me. I can feel grief for him and grief for myself that his life made him do this to me, to my loved ones. It's so complicated and I wish it was black and white, but it's not and will never be.

He is literally half of me, just like Mok-Ha's dad was half of her. And even more for Mok-Ha he was her only parent, of course she felt sadness for him.

Even Ki-Ho in the end cried for his father, when he's done so much harm. I had hope until the very moment I cut my dad off that he would change, for me at least. Just like I'm sure Ki-Ho had hoped that his father would change for him, that's why he kept trying, that's why he was sad when he died. For himself, for his family, for his dad.

I love this drama for this aspect, it paints such a nuanced picture of child abuse and relationships to abusers that is never talked about. This is important, we need stories like this.

7.3 is crazy. I think people need to start taking it for what it is. It was always meant to be a cheesy romcom and if you frame it like that, its decent. There are much worse shows with much higher ratings. Not everything needs to be as ground breaking as Not Me. We need fluff too...

There's a few, but do you mean which guy ends up in a romantic relationship with the FL? Or just which guy is…
You're right, it is Jang Hyeop (or Bo Geol). I think people who are confused are in denial (or have wishful thinking) because they wanted Woo Hak to be Ki Ho. But personally I find BG to be a much better match for Mook Ha, in temperament and maturity level. They just work and they always have imo.

The thing I will say is that the uncut is much better. They cut out a lot of important scenes that really add…
Editing is post production. Once something is being edited that's one of the final steps and there is not much else to be done. The footage you have is what you have too right, so that's often why continuity errors make it into the final products, not because of a mistake by the editor but because those are literally the best shots they have and they can't re-film for something small like the computer screen for instance. Even some of the biggest works like Star Wars or Game of Thrones have those errors in them, it just is how it is.

Though sometimes you get really egregious stuff. Like in Gossip Girl there was an extra wearing only one shoe, or one of the main characters was wearing sweatpants over her dress after a cut. But that's extreme haha.

And to be clear I wasn't saying that you or anyone has to like it, merely that I found the uncut version to better, which is particularly annoying that it's geo locked/behind a paywall

Yeah and that's tottally fine. It's not going to be for everyone you know. Just like every drama some people will like it and some people will not. I personally like it, I thought it was cute. But imo the uncut verision is much better pacing and characterzations wise.

i know this show is going to be super hyped and high rated no matter if it's good or not because it's off gun…
The thing I will say is that the uncut is much better. They cut out a lot of important scenes that really add to the overall show. So if folks can please go and check out the uncut version.

Also continuity errors are normal. Nearly every show has them, even the great ones.

But the humor, thats personal preference so I totally understand some not liking it.

Those are just my two cents.

I feel like you can't really judge a show based on a trailer. Some shows and movies with great trailers ended up being super disappointing. But the opposite is true too, that some shows that have lackluster trailers are great. We'll just have to see how this one unfolds. Regardless I thought it was cute and I know that OffGun's chemistry will be on point. They are a pillar for a reason lol

I think it's super clear that Bo Geol is Ki Ho. But I see a lot of people passing judgment on Bo Geol's character and how they don't want him to be Ki Ho. Just a reminder, we are in episode 2. We really haven't seen much from BG and the plot really hasn't unfolded yet. I'm sure that we will understand more about him and his character as the story goes on.

Because he’s trying to keep his true identity hidden from his psycho dad.
You can be a grown adult and still be afraid of your parental abuser. That's not really how trauma works. It sticks with you. Plus his dad is still dangerous. He got his father fired and ran away which means his father has even more incentive to harm him. And he's a former cop he could probably kill him. Which will definitely be a plot point in the future.

Excellent start. It was a lot darker than I originally thought, but it's so well done and the pace is fantastic. Plus the cinematography really pretty. Eeeh I'm excited about this one!
