Hyped hope and bitter fate, decisions what break people from inside. Choises what change fate of country, burden and lonlyness, simple hapiness and dreams what help you carry on.
Shockingly good acting, actors fit into their roles like they were born only for this.
Epic OST. Drama has kinda lot of politics but you never feel that it is boring or dry like usually, characters here create politics with their dreams,emotions,passions and sorrow.Pace is quick and storytelling captivating.

Rome and Juliet isnt classical romance but classical tragedy :D There is a lot more in it than romance and this is reason why people like it...including me.
13 yrs.for girl were in that time considered already old enough to get married. It was normal then. People lived shorter lives than now and kids had shorter childhood than now, they needed to grow up and mature very quick to survive. Sad? Yes.But times were different in Europe then.
Nowdays in many countries in the world life is still same and kids cant have happy childhood .... .

yes, Im bit passionate bc this kind kdrama happens rarely. :D It has so nicely complicated characters that doing analyze is pure pleasure.
She leaved WS not only bc of "his sake" but bc of their child too. She didnt wanted kid grow up in palace what is like snake nest. But in the end WS cant leave palace with her and she knows her health isnt good and she dies soon.
So there was meaning. Like parent , I understand her well.
You write like her becoming WS's wife was possible....it wasnt possible. She and WS understood it - there was only two chises for WS : give up throne and have HS but get killed in the end or give up HS and have throne. WS wanted both, he wanted but he couldnt gain. HS knew thous options too. Queen never let her live and have child if she didnt leave WS. Her pregnancy would have been great danger to Queen bc it might have been boy.HS has seen how easy is to kill person in palace, she has seen it many-many times.
All thous murders what she has witnessed, betrayals, backstabing - who would been able keep "bubbly, happy, naive" personality after all this? Only very-very selfish and shallow person. so her personality changing is natural and logical.
But this is just mine point of view and how I see characters. Btw. Have you read/seen "Romeo and Juliet" ?..... famous classical tragedy were author creates misunderstandings and makes him kill this guy and in the end everyone is unhappy?

90s and few years after that was golden time for Jdrama. In asia they were pioneers with their drama and movie. Sadly they changed. Now only movies are ok. All actors from 90s who knew how to act are old already and veryy-very few younger actors can act on their level. New Jdrama is all about manga and manga/anime style , original script is very rare.Japan missed their moment and Korea took it from them like candy from kid.
