THERE IS NO HAPPY ENDING ON IT.
In MLSHR there are many good lessons in the end, not only to us viewers but from characters too.
There wasnt only mishap in every aspect of the story - there were lessons and there were bittersweet memories to hold. Just think a bit what you saw in last 3 episodes. This drama doesnt do spoonfeeding and simplifie things for you but it also doesnt force Confucianistic morale onto you like chinese version is doing.
Ending was built exactly by rules of classic tragedy.

I got that you enjoyed ML :D but it made me sad that you didnt find out beauty of last episodes. T.T

That lost piercing shot of Lee Jun Ki's eyes... I was holding my breath. Legitimately couldn't breathe.…
I agree, MLSHR doesnt make you actually sad. In BBJX king just accepted her death, he gave up. Later she is just very dear memory to him.

In MLSHR Soo doesnt give up even in the end, his will to find HS even in different world is strong. Makes us believe that somehow he is able to do this.

And HS in future isnt sad bc her love was ower, lost and ended like R. was but bc she blames herself leaving him alone.
They both, So and Soo ,doesnt accept that this love is ended, they both still feel it strongly.

So despite seeing in BBJX them meet in future we know that they both accepted that their love ended.

Despite not seeing in MLSHR them meet in future we know that their love never ended, it is still there, strong and alive. So strong that it can make miracle happen. And we know that they meet someday again.

BBJX ending makes us sad, all feels like waste and like it was all in vain - she didnt change anything in past, beautiful love ended and now they must start all from the beginning like strangers.Magic is broken.

This is why I like MLSHR ending....it is sad, very sad but yet full of hope and belief that this isnt end of their story continues....magic is still alive.

THERE IS NO HAPPY ENDING ON IT.
Yes, there isnt....have you seen tragedy with happy ending?
MLSHR genre is tragedy and it really fits this classical genre.
Btw. Tragedy allways has in the end some tiny hint that in future things change somehow - hint of hope.

AMAZING. 10/10 is not enought! Can't wait for the special \^o^/
I heard that there is one special more, with cut off ending in future. But I think they release it when DVD\ Blue-ray comes out and include it into add-ons there, to boost sales.

Best review about this drama.10/10

I would add that when you have seen before BBJX and plan watch MLSHR then betwwen them watch Palace. Lock Heart Jade. It is first adaptation of same novel but is different from BBJX and MLSHR. Experience how one story can be told so differently helps you separate MLSHR and BBJX and see them like different items.

I found this on Twitter. These were leaked pictures of Wang So's scene in the finale episode that got cut…
I fear that they didnt include this scene bc they dont plan second season.
This scene would have scremed - continues...
They didnt want give promises what they may not are abble to fullfill.
But people demand now second season anyway ....this didnt help alot.

For now ending was ok, fitted well with drama and its genre.

it makes me wonder if bong soon was actually baek ah's daughter? because they did have a night together in…
This girl is his future wife and mother of his son who becomes king.
Wang Wook has 3 kids - 1.son and 2 girls.
Son becomes 6th king
older daughter marries 5 th king
younger daugter marries Baek Ah and their son becomes 8th king and descendants of 8th king are in future royal bloodline.

It was this way done bc all Koreans know it, no need to explain but for people outside Korea it was just moment of Baek Ah remembering his beloved only.

Honestly, at the end of this drama, I wished that Hae Soo would just fall in love with Wang Jung and just be his…
"They both seemed pathetic compared to Wang Jung who got the guts to ask his father to approve marriage with her right away after his victorious battle."

??? Do you tell now that Yo was his father?

Baek Ah has got be the most unlucky prince of them all :( my hearts aches for him ;-;
He is one from whom nearly all Goreyo kings descend. Direct bloodline of So and Wook dies out soon.

In the last episode we see how he meets his future wife. He was very young when drama starts and still young when it ends.

I wouldn't mind happy endings in historical drama but there should be a reason why most historical drama…
In first adaption Palace: Lock Heart Jade, it is chinese drama too, she comes back to future and her beloved one follows her.
