This drama made me cry like a river from the beginning to the last episode. The 4th Prince always seek the love…
It isnt sequel, it is just bit different version. International version was sold to other countries and then they reedited this version and aired it in Korea SBS channel.
Both have some different scenes or order of scenes.
International isnt sequel or prequel and it is already out with eng subs.

Nirvana in Fire - adventure, maybe something in Grim Fandango style but with less traveling but with fight scenes here and there.

Moon Lovers SHR - reverse harem otome with many, many endings. Ending depends from your choises.
Then everyone can ship their fav. couple how much they want and have ending what they desiree...or not.

"You have been sleeping for the last one year and you just woke up" oh God, what was that? Are we kids?…
They didnt bother us with boring details her being in coma, wakeing up from coma in hospidal, recovering, going home, going to work again a.s.o.
All are things what arent interesting to watch, predictable, boring and Im happy that they skip them.
One sentence from her coworker was enough to explain what happened with her body in future when she was in past - she was sleeping aka she was in coma.

With this bedroom scene they show to us that memories of past still are with her, hidden into her dreams. She believes that this all was just dream what haunts her.
And then comes future JM and pushes onto trigger.....and all memories start come back in their full form.

I suggest rewatch that last part and you see that im right.

Kdramas are not known for their realism but where have you seen a female weightlifter that looks like Lee Sung…
I agree that for drama with romance and light touch of sport there isnt need go overly realistic with main lead looks. This isnt documentary. Yes, it is inspired by real persons life but i repeat - it isnt documentary.
They serve to us some serious issues what young spotsmen meet wrapped nicely into soft romcom in Korean style. So that even people who doesnt care about sport theme can watch drama and not to be bored.

Who is interested about prototype of main lead, Jang Mi Ran, can google and find out about her life and looks a.s.o.
Im glad that they found way to honor good sportswoman, address some issues what young sportsmen go thru, popularize sports among younger people, talk about healthy way of living and give us entertainment in one go.

"You have been sleeping for the last one year and you just woke up" oh God, what was that? Are we kids?…
What is wrong with this? She was in coma after drowning, she woke up and is back to work again. All is ok with logic.
p.s. This was already in novel, so it wasnt plot twist crated by drama scriptwriter.

Can they seriously change the ending please. It was so good up until the freaking end oh my gosh.I mean give us…
It is tragedy....what you can change there? Make tragedy with happy ending?
This is absurd.
It is like ordering whole fried chicken but demanding it to be served alive.

This drama could have been great. It had a great cast minus IU,however most of them are wasted or under utilised…
@CharityRich .....when you start rewatching you notice that IU doesnt have big eyes most of the time. It is weird how people remember few moments from episode so clearly and forget other, bigger part. Maybe bc impact was so big?
When rewatching you can focus more on acting and less onto subtitles and plot. And when you focus on acting you can see how good job IU is doing here, very detailed and on point role building.

I use same number "thing".

1. Plot twist were there bc thous events really happened in history or in novel - drama is mix of both.

2. You talk that drama has plot holes but doesnt mention any of them. Actually there wasnt ANY plot holes, writting was in this area perfect.

3.All the princes loving Soo ....nope, not all just some. King Taejo had 29 sons (princes9 and 25 wives......in drama we seee that only 4 of them ( 4th,8th,10th and 14th) fall more or less in love with her. 4 from 29 is some 1,16% of princes...not all.

4...

5. Eclipse was shown big and bright in first episode and in last episode..was there even need to say any phrase about it? Just look on screen with open eyes (hear the irony? :P )

And btw. subtitles quality and they missing - arent fault of directing and even not fault of editing. They are added later. English subtitles are done by fansubing groups, absolutely no ties with drama production staff and crew.

6.Nearly all the deaths what occur in the drama - actually occur in history or in novel too.
All about royal family members are facts from history. All death had reasons shown in drama clearly.

7...
8....
-------
Other parts are more or less personal preferences or opinions and im ok with them.

for this review: 5/10
Has personal opinion but analyze and facts part are bit weak, has some misleading parts.
anopinion Nov 12, 2016
I m ok with opinion part, it is personal stuff but....

- in history Wang So had family issues
- he really had scar
- and Goreyo was kinda advanced with cosmetics ( arheological finds, old scripts) and yes, men too in this era used make up.

So it wasn't writers mistakes. Writing is very clever and smart, contains a lot real historical details.
And HOW Wang So got throne was shown, maybe you skiped thous scenes.

Time skips were handled well, audience doesnt need to watch hours of boring everyday life were nothing important to storyline happens, bc of this plot wasnt dragged and pace was good. Change in characters was shown in both - outside and inside....and this isnt opinion but what happened, there was changes in looks and attitude, in any way you got that people are now older and time has moved on.

In drama there was a lot political intrigues but thous were so well written inside main storyline that audience sometimes even didnt notice that this is actually politics.
But yes in general politics wasnt driving factor but characters - they made politics not vice versa.

In summary i dont agree with you that writing was poor - original novel is very famous and added parts of Korean history were well melted in or vice versa if to be honest - novel part was well mixed into Korean history.

For this review: 5/10
It has some analyze and opinions but has some parts that might mislead people who havent seen drama. Still better than some reviews here

There is too much story for movie, even anime has 2. season...I fear they dont tell all story but only littlebit from start and want look does it succeeds or not before they make second movie or more.

but from other side....Japanese movies have better special efffects than dramas, so movie format is ok
In any case i watch bc Im big fan of manga and anime..

It's based on a manga or a novel, right? The story seems vaguely familiar. Anyway, it's Miike so I am definitely…
