post 2./ Just now mine favs are:
- Empress Ki , this drama never fails to surprise me and i have read articles about this time and fate of real persons
-Inspiring Generation, i feared that it gets ruined, time/era what they portray is kinda touchy one, filled with landmines and fame of manhwa, what is original doesnt help bc time and media are diferent, still they have managed keep me interested and KHJ progress is nice to watch, not to say that i liked his acting style already earlier aso
- Bridge of Century, nice light entertaiment with some mystery souce to spice story in the beginning up but now it moves to more real issues
- Secret Love Affair,i cant resist: " Yoo Ah In, an excellent actor who struggles to be there. I will support every of his shows till he makes it big." ....it is here and now, it is happening...he makes it big right now, in drama where music is hotter than sex
Hi everyone! I wanted to comment on Inspiring Generation, but I realized it would be too much to fit in a comment…
ummm...seems that im the one of few who likes JT character, how he grows and changes. In the beginning he is like bond with clear water, then it gets spoiled and muddy, you cant see well what is happening down there but you see water moving and boiling, now it gets settled more and more and you see changes in the bottom, its not nice and smooth anymore, there are now dangerous, deep places but you can see them now but i fear that this transparency is just temporary thing.we saw all saw him in ep.1
So, yes i find him to be interesting character, despite his low key presence he influences everybody, real center of everything what happens and like you know center doesnt move alot itself but keeps everything moving
Just few thoughts after reading your blog and what i succeeded to fit into comment box limits
p.s.KHJ has improvedin acting, he was good with tiny details already in PK but now hes
I was honestly really into this show until the writers changed. I definitely noticed it and didn't like it. They…
-There was tiny hint about JT sister a long time ago when JT father was still alive, lets see does they use it or not.
-Gayas only talked about her feelings but Gayas mother run away with her lover, married him and had a kid - in her fathers / Gayas grandfathers/ eyes that was worth a death, Gaya might get "better" if JT is dead - this is what Denkai is thinking not killing her right on spot, still he finds her to be "damaged goods" bc she has alot "unnessesary" feelings and her value to him gets dropping.
-Gayas and JT story to have some happy ending is impossible in this time and age. They both have given up, jet both havent forgotten.
I feel that somehow story gets Romeo and Juliet tones but with two Juliets and one Romeo.
Til now writers has managed take care nearly all lose ends if they find natural way for sister too then i must applaud to them.
...I think it mainly depends what drama/movie you watched first... but there are actors who get typecasted again and again, so finally he/she plays only one character all his/her life, only hairdo and costumes change. From article is evil mom nr 1 one of them, other actors have managed more or less break thru this wall.
the new empress is sooo evil,
much worse than tanashiri
Tanashiris evilness was more honest and innocent, she was kinda simpleminded and driven by her pride but new empress is two faced, she is scheming and heartless.
They are two sides of evil - one rised and one born.
Just how i see it now...
Seems that change of writers has given drama more serious tone. Many people who hoped find romance, comedy and nice costymes has droped it,hapens sometimes if you start drama what isnt your cup of tea.
I personaly love more serious IG, time frame what it potrtrais is drarkest in Korean history and filled with pains.
btw. maybe im weird but i like main charaters,it means for me that actors are dong good job. Supporting actors are good too and you can enjoy colorful gallery of character types from that era.
Still this drama is adaptation of manga what already was fiction, so it uses historical facts for background and main charatcers like metaphors/ or something similar/, so to try find something biografical is meaningless. I hope they continue with serious tone and dont try to rose-color story....
um... humans have four basic facial expressions for emotions and i have seen him have all of them.../ its from : http://www.gla.ac.uk/news/headline_306019_en.html //
... im bit confused by timeframe when all this is happening, can somebody help me with this? 1927 is already past,…
awww.... then it is becoming nasty soon:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Shanghai
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Sino-Japanese_War
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nanking_Massacre
...alot of landmines for drama writers to avoid, i think drama ends before thous events with strong foreboding.
... im bit confused by timeframe when all this is happening, can somebody help me with this? 1927 is already past, 1931 Manchuria seems to be happened... but first Battle of Shanghai ???
Why are there only a few People watching this Drama? before there were so many People, it was always at least…
Romance seekers and thouse who arent interested in history are leaving.
This isnt part of history where you can enjoy beautyful costymes and see nice landscape. This part of history was kinda nasty and dark, beginning of II WW, economical crisis and other "boring" stuff.

...that video was NTSC ....its for TV and DVD players.
"Digital broadcasting allows higher-resolution television, but digital standard definition television continues to use the frame rate and number of lines of resolution established by the analog NTSC standard; systems using the NTSC frame and line rate (such as DVDs) are still referred to informally as "NTSC". NTSC video signals are still used in video playback (typically of recordings from existing libraries using existing equipment) and in CCTV and surveillance video systems. "
...so, i dont wonder why you had so hard time with it.
video was .VOB ... so you need look does your player suports subs in VOB.... or something like that.
lol....i can relate to some "moods" even if i didnt felt same way with exsample dramas.
Bc i have weird sence of humour then when i watch / mainly - when i am forced to watch / drama with bad / in mine book/ jokes and situation comic i have some aftereffects too... thankly mine family and friends are learned enjoy them/ i mean aftereffects/ or i would been doomed a long time ago...

What makes drama interesting is era: start of fall of two big forces - Yuan and Goryeo and hinted/coming rise of two big forces Ming and Joseon.
