so i just started to watch it and somehow popped into mine head question: what your mdl friends who have seen Monstar or Dream High thought about it? ...and you know, main lead actor...he surprised me, does he really... @ RentaLynn: umm...im still think that watching all live drama adaptations before is good thing to do...

...i would say it is warm ending and from mine point of view ...she doesnt end up with anybody, she just grows up and learns to injoy life.

greatly underrated drama. But ...to injoy this you need some maturity or life expierence, so i can imagine that for most part of younger audience it doesnt hit the point...maybe first 1-8 episodes, after that it goes more subdle and deep, bubbly romance ends (kisses are really hot!)...and they get bored.
Acting is good, like expected from cast of this kind calibre, directing and tecnical part is nice and soundtrack is sweet. Ending...it isnt bad, actually it is warm and all, it nicely closes all storylnes but ...its hard to point out, there is something what leaves you...to be honest it was reason why i didnt rated it higher. Still, this drama IS worth your time if you are into more deep ones but dont like tearjerkers.

@ locurabella: yes not all usa remakes are failures but sadly there is too many what are and this has made up clishe-oppinion what is now very hard to kill and fact that big part of usa audience judges originals by them (failures)...is scary.
And usa majority audiences tv taste is kinda... so, spreading quality enteraiment and try to change this is like superhero challenge... - main point why,I, who Iam not from usa, support this project and think that they(remake team) need more international ( not from usa) fans behind them to actually rise interest in usa audience, to kick this ball rolling and make change.

BC. this drama gets released not only in usa but more worldwide what is unusal way for usa remakes, it would be fabulous if they used unusual way to make it too, more open and see-thru, with shooting diaries from cast and staff. Later it makes good adition for DVD.

i hope they make actors read manga and watch all drama adaptations...anime is very long but some key episodes would be good for them to0,it would help actors find that "essence" and spirit of their characters.
And ...it would be nice if they make some review or essee concurs for MDL members about characters and drama versions - how we see them, what is essential. Then it would be easier them to keep drama on right "feel".
Interview series with actors would be nice too...some MDL writers doing Q&A video session with them.Then people can see them reacting, talikng on live and get more familiar with them.

@gongyoyo:there is one pump on the way of airing original asian dramas in USA - they(majority of usa audience) cant/want read subtitles (exclude kdrama fans), so they dub. With anime it has already happened, some dubs are so bad that even harm anime badly.Yes some dubs are ok and there is some what are brilliant but sadly very few.So after usa audiences majority learns to read subtitles all this what you hope may come true one day.

um why be shocked, disappointed? Posts here arent actually against them doing remake but show concern and give hints what members here hope this remake would be or would not to be. And there is reasons for this consern (like you yourself mentioned too) bc nearly all usa remakes from asian originals have failed til now. People just voice out what they think, hope and wait. We all know that production havent even started jet - so it is right time for this. Its too late if drama is already filmed. Remakers asked our oppinion and if they are smart they can learn even from negative oppinion.And they know that members here are international, from all ower the world - not only usa residents, so they get oppinions from outside usa and inside usa, from fans of HYD and from not fans...but im sure of one thing - nobody here doesnt want-hope them fail <3... HUG to you <3, dont be sad :D

p.s. for usa audience this all is ok and good: usa clishe type cast, familiar drama setting clishes and situations and no subtitles. But for international audience it is too few of effort to made.All people who prefer asian dramas to usa dramas do it for reason that usa dramas miss that "something" what asian dramas posess despite all clishes. This project would have been good opportunity to give usa drama that missing part back but sadly makers do reverse: thay rip story from all what makes it special and fill holes with all that stuff what makes usa drama boring. Cast would have been first step to make diference...but remakers missed this opportunity already... added this to make more clear why i m not hyped about remake.

F4 looks like baseball team, macho power on 100%, kinda clishe looks with main point on body.Actor for Rui seems so bland and without that cold beauty charm what was Ruis trademark. Nothing hints to original concept, maybe actors can cover it with acing skills? Future shows... Girls look like chearleader team, not bad but ... With remakers intention to add more hot makeout scenes, sport and usa type of school violence HYD mutilates more and more into usual usa school soap. I dont say that it should be bad drama, it might be kinda nice one but it isnt HYD anymore...

...but bullying wasnt main point of story, it was just stepingstone for main storyline, reason to get main heroine to react and get attention from main hero (not litterarily but by story logic vise).I hope you dont owerdo it and forget "why" point.

are you sure that you dont ruin drama with too many storylines in so few episodes?
How you plan change main points of story what arent logical/possible in usa society?
How you show why where thous 4 boys so idolised ( and this wasnt sport or macho look) what was one main point of manga.
If you make main heroine to be from middle class family - allready part of story is ruined....maybe you rethink?
