Yes, i get now that HS needed time to heal on her own and away from her family who learned "to live their lives"…
I don't disagree, I was just thinking about how frustrated most of us are at her behavior. I don't mean the fact that we know she's going to take off on her own. I'm talking about choosing to delay her marriage for her good-for-nothing sperm donor to "save the family".
FL is not much of a mother. She's supposedly got all these resources and she has a phone number in the USA for the nanny for her son and she hasn't tried to pinpoint where that call came from? At least which state? Most mothers would've taken ex-hubby up on his offer to live with him (and the son) as his mistress and then disappeared with her son as soon as she got the chance.
Y'all know, it hit me last night that this show and Hyo shim's behavior is actually pretty realistic. People don't really change their core personality. Hyo shim has not been to therapy or counseling for her Captain-Save-The-Family mentality. Even when people do attempt/start to change, they often relapse now and again.
I disagree that she just went along with everything he wanted, we have clearly seen that she voiced her disagreement…
WARNING THIS IS A SPOILER for Oh My Venus in case you haven't seen it - ML takes off for 1 year (time skip). No contact. Comes back and acts as if FL should be honored that he's back and wants to marry her. (Well, it IS So Ji sub so... of course! But that's not the point! π
I'm having the hardest time with the OTP. I'm not shallow in real life, but in my romantic TV characters, I'm definitely shallow! π It's hard to make the heart flutter for ML when it's like watching Yoo Jae suk in a romantic role. He's so sweet that he's not unattractive but he's not heart pounding either!
This is why I HATE previews of the next episodes and try not to watch them. I don't even feel like I need to watch the last episode after everything they gave away about EP 51.

Six Flying Dragons is best enjoyed after you've seen Tree With Deep Roots. Otherwise, it's like watching the Phantom Menace before the original Star Wars trilogy. It just doesn't fly as well. Although Six Flying Dragons is a thousand times better than any of the Star Wars prequels. Oh! And Chuno won every award for best show & best actor (Baeksang) - it's amazing!

And that's why I said "dreaded". I've been watching Kdrama since 2013 and I've seen some of the stupidest time skips always at the penultimate episode. Ofttimes with zero contact at all. As much as I'm a sucker for a happy ending, I would love to see the time skipper return and the other half of the OTP has moved on and gotten engaged or married.

That's a really good list of favorite. So glad to see Welcome to Waikiki and Chicago Typewriter on your list. Most people think I'm crazy to include Waikiki but I found it HILARIOUS! I'm surprised that Healer's not on your list which makes me believe you couldn't have seen it yet. Also if you're into saeguks, Chuno (Jang Hyuk) is #1, followed by #2 Tree With Deep Roots (how the alphabet was created) and then #3 is it's prequel Six Flying Dragons aka Roots of Throne (Yoo Ah in).

I was debating whether to thank you or not. π€ I'm grateful but I feel like I'm putting a burden on you by making you have to search through all these answers just to find my simple "thanks".
If Hyo shim would've chosen Tae min, instead of the childish brattiness that Tae ho showed about the wedding delay,…
Haha! I don't remember it like that. Maybe it was but I don't remember it. I guess I felt TM didn't get a chance to show what he could do. I was just so turned off by Tae Ho's childishness from his fainting to his skipping (and sometimes he'd be by himself while skipping so it wasn't part of his teasing Hyo shim behavior.).
Can somebody tell me why Hyo shim's mom is so mean to Kleut soon? (ep 50 I think)Or did she say those things just to perk her up and get her out of the doldrums?
πππ First, who is the "gremlin"? πππ
You're right and since mom has made it clear that Stank Dad should die - the quicker the better - then that's Hyo shim's made up delusion that she's doing it for mom.
Also, I've said before that Hyo shim should've at least let Tae ho know she was undergoing surgery, even if she didn't discuss it with him but, likewise, he's making plans to move her away from her family without discussing it with her. I can understand why he wants to and he thinks that's best for her but - dang! - we're not talking about across town or even across the country but to Europe!
You may feel differently but I think TH needs to take a stand & set a tone for what is acceptable / tolerable…
I agree they shouldn't keep things from each other. I do think that while Hyo shim resents her dad, he's very important to her. Not in the sense of wanting him back in their lives but his absence has shaped her personality. So he is important whether because of love or hate. Her family has looked for him for so long - over 20 years - that trumps Tae ho waiting a few months. imho
I love when I come to the comment section and EVERYONE agrees. I havenβt seen one comment defend Hyo Sim or…
I have defended Hyo shim. Not for giving her dad her liver. Not for having surgery without discussing but with Tae ho. But Tae ho was being childish about the wedding delay when finding her dad and he's dying - even if she hates and resend him - it is a HUGE deal.
