Thank you both!

I didn't watch this drama when it started airing. Instead I began binging it a few weeks ago. Assuming it has two episodes a week - one on Saturday and one on Sunday - how did it end up this week on an odd episode 39? (Such a bomb dropped and I'm looking around going "Where is Ep 40? It has to be available because 39 is an odd number.)

I think the real question should be how many memorial ceremony for their father are we getting πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚
Although, they all looked at Granny Taesun on the news and commented that she looked like Rooftop Tenant Lady and that was that so... πŸ˜†
"Ooo. That chabeoul on the news looks just like Hyo sim's boyfriend!" Goes back to gluing eyes on teddy bears and flipping socks. πŸ˜† Although, now Mom's even busier with her cafe so now she really doesn't notice. πŸ˜‚

I'd like to know what shows your talking about but I can't recognize them by their initials alone. I get it when it's a huge show like DOTS or CLOY, but when people use acronyms for just any show, there's no way to figure out which shows they're referencing.

I have a question and I'm no newbie. (Kdramas since 2013!) But how can I search for dramas that were or will be dailies? I'm disabled and would like to watch while doing my exercises but I can't figure out how to get a list of the daily (M-F) shows.

Dang! You all keep pointing out such good plot points that it could go either way and I keep waffling back and forth as to which "cousin" is illegitimate and born to which of the Chairman brothers!

Interesting. Seo Min Jeong was so blasè about Tae min going to jail that what you're saying does make sense (except she's such a [w]itch that I could see her being that way even if Tae min really is her biological son. But then we've got the other thing where I've always wondered if Tae Ho's parents were so loving, why did they send him away at such a young age? This could go either way. I can't wait to see!

It may mean absolutely nothing, but Detective Kathryn51 just can't help going back and looking for dates.1983:…
πŸ€” Everyone else seems to think Kang Jun bum (deceased brother, right?) is Tae min's father whereas my first thought was that Tae ho is the current Chairman's illegit child made (by Granny) to be raised by the deceased brother. But now that you all have put it out there it does make sense that Tae min is the one who may have been sent to be raised by the elder brother and then Tae ho was born legitimately to the deceased couple. EXCEPT, Tae ho being the illegitimate one would explain why he was sent away from the family at a young age. Nobody really seemed to care for him except Granny.

I've been thinking that for a while now too. I was thinking about the amount of wailing and whining were going to hear from Hyo sim's mom once she finds out her husband is really dead (by foul play from somebody at Taesun Company). Her guilty conscious for holding fake memorials out of resentment is going to make her even more intolerable but I think I'll be laughing at her this time. πŸ˜†

TM said his uncle and grandparents literally trained him and his uncle was hard on him but now he will find out…
@Pretty bae - Ohhhh wow! I didn't think of the situation that way. I thought the bomb that Grandma dropped meant that Chairman (Tae min's dad) had an affair that produced the younger Tae ho and that Grandma made her deceased younger son raise her oldest son's illegitimate child (Tae ho). But it sounds like you're saying Tae min may have been the illegitimate son of Grandma's deceased son who was given to The Villains to raise? That's an interesting theory. I've become tired of knowing exactly where a show is going. So thanks! Not knowing makes it even more exciting! I can't wait until the next couple of episodes!

I like how you depicted the main leads relationship. Please could you tell me if the drama is worth watching.…
Of course there are villains, but you're probably hearing about FL's family. All but one of them are whiny, are not self sufficient and don't take responsibility for their own lives or actions but depend on and burden FL to bail them out. Sometimes it's funny but after seeing it over and over, it can make you start to feel the frustration FL has. Then after a while you'll feel frustration at her for not cutting ties sooner. But with the help of ML she begins to figure it out without completely leaving behind Korean family values of loyalty.

After watching Marry My Husband today, I get now why i am so drawn to the lead couple here and how they are written.…
I find I can deal better with the relationship stupidity in a show like Marry My Husband when I keep in mind it's a manga. Most mangas (imo) read as if they're written by 13 year-old Korean girls (i. e., very naive and knows nothing about adult relationships).

Not only is his self-worth crushed and he suffers anxiety attacks, he is also depressed. Like not a little sad…
While I'm old school and prefer an alpha male, I'm afraid that times have changed and modern women look at alpha males as "jerks". I think TV/movies have fooled women into thinking they can fight and beat a man if they need to. But after an attempted attack, I took Tae Kwon do for a few years. Anyone who actually fights knows that the difference in body-muscle mass makes that notion ridiculous. I do enjoy watching the fantasy but that's exactly what it is - fantasy. It's really funny to me watching women run in police dramas and the way the camera tries to make it look as if the police woman can keep up with her male partner. It's slap-my-thigh funny!

@bloomingtide - your description is bang on but that should've been a different show. This was presented as a comedy but instead all I could do is feel bad along with the ML. And that's okay if you're giving me a serious show about ED.

Facts are facts. I'm an older woman (over 60) whose had my fair share of man by troubles BUT I admit today's modern woman gives as good as she gets. Quite scummy all around.

I could be wrong but I don't think "Oppa" directly translates as "brother". I say this because I think it more literally translates as "older male whom a female has a close relationship with and whom she is obligated (thru Confucius social cues/standards) to show respect". That's why it's not only a woman's older brother but also her older brother's close friends whom she also knows well because of/thru her brother's friendship with him. I hope someone Korean reads this so they can confirm or correct my thoughts on this.

Also, I have been sloooowly learning Korean and Oppa, Noona, Eunnie, and Hyung are more like titles of address. There are actually other words when speaking of your biological brothers and sisters. For instance - you don't say the word "jamae" (means "sister") but you don't address your sister as " jamae". I used the example of "eunnie" because I have not learned the word for "biological brother" yet. πŸ˜‰

Thankyou for the in depth explanation, I love learning social customs from other countries. Does Catty come from…
When it comes to "Daddy", it's all in the tone (it's still "eww" but it's obvious the man is NOT her father). When a woman uses "Daddy" to mean her boyfriend the word has an emphasis that kind of sounds like Korean aegyo. It's a cutesy pouty sound. But, again, using "daddy" in that way is from quite a few generations ago. Before the baby boomers (in America). Most common during the roaring '20’s and 1930’s and 1940’s.

Yikes. I already don't like the "childhood-sweetheart"-trope, but stop calling him brother at some point... lol
