Probably deep down Chen Ye still has feeling even though his evilness was fuel by vengeance and hate while Fu Ling after her memories where wiped out was just an unfeeling robotic killing machine. They didn't share the same value to create a love line. I can see the love line between Fu ling and Chong Zhao because Bai Xi has liked him during childhood. While I can't comprehend Chong Zhao feeling for Fu Ling nor support it. I was totally WTF when he was like even if you're not Bai Xi I will still protect you. Like where the heck did that come from?

Originally this was meant to be only 36 episode series with sad/open ending. Bai Lu in one interview stated that she expected a happy go lucky drama and didn't expect to films all these sad scenes. However after pending reviews by the television board, the production team decided to add 4 more episodes to make it a total of 40 episodes. The wedding scene that is floating around was filmed recently (4 months ago ish) after filming wrapped more than a year ago. Most likely it is a happy ending but anything can happen. However, Bai Lu has mentioned that it is a HE in recent interview.

It's just a side special project to help fundraise for the Xinjiang project. Not really keep running. I believe it was filmed during their trip to Yunnan trip? 🤔

They were supposed to be offerings for the sacrificial altar that's why they were trapped just above the altar. Their blood/energy were absorbed to ignited the sacrificial offerings to make deity. But is was halted as Bai Shuo stopped it from happening so no one dies.
