the acting/writing script is really horrible and the lead with the caterpillar eyebrows can't act his way out of a paper bag (idk if its because hes foreign or not but bad casting choice regardless)
Then explain this? https://i.imgur.com/paNOUMV.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Xb8bw1k.jpg https://i.imgur.com/Aa4WvNL.jpghes…
And you're forgetting the part where he said "my skin is so light and i don't even have to use anything"
Its was a smug condescending remark about how superior he was because hes white and Pop is so dark. You're actually trying to defend a racist comment because you're blinded by your like of a drama series? that is despicable.
and you're really going to tell me hes half chinese ? LMAO. one of his parents is definitely a foreigner.
The excuses you try to make are ridiculous. You're even searching through his facebook just to try to prove me "wrong".
stop defending colorism, you look bigoted in doing so.
he got his role because white privilege / colorism exists in thailand. Acknowledge the problem instead of making an excuse.
hes basically looking down on Pop for his darker skin and then bragging about being pale.
Its racist because this is a HALF EUROPEAN person looking down on pure asians because of their skin tone. The fact that so many fans of this show defends this is appalling
If another race were to slant their eyes to make fun of asian people, asians would be so mad but when things like this happens in their own drama's its the same "well thats just life, what can i do about it?" excuse.
if "color has nothing to do with it" then why his character say lines like that? because color has everything to do with his character and so does his race because he's half white/european. Why should asians be made to feel inferior in their own dramas? they shouldn't at all.
My only gripe is that i wish Mean and Plan were the main couple. They contrast each other the most. One is small, tanner, and innocent looking, and the other looks tall, princely, and intimidating. That is my favorite BL trope tbh.
I don't know much about colourism in Thailand: but I totally disagree with this summary of Strong. He was great:…
you say don't bring race and color into this but his character made a racist comment first? implying that dark skin was a bad thing?
the comment his character made is proof the casting decision was made based on white privilege and not actual acting talent because you do know the actor who was cast before Strong was not half-white right? That is proof that they sought out any half white person with bare minimum acting talent to read out a colorist line like that.
and shallow? its SUPPOSED to be shallow. its a romance drama lmao. Actors for shallow romance dramas are suppose to be above average looking. He definitely is no Mario Mauer.
but that is only my OPINION. goodbye and goodnight. if it makes you upset. sorry but he should have never auditioned if he was not prepared to take public criticism (he probably isn't even reading this comment). i would have given him his kudos if his acting was good AT LEAST, but its not. So whats wrong about pointing out the clear reason he was cast and voicing out concerns about the BLATANT colorism problem in Thailand?
Rebecca,"this guys has an old grandpa face and he looks like Mr. Bean." the last time I check, Rowan Atkinson/Mr.…
wow, you're so mad and salty about my OPINION. If i want to think hes a bad actor, i can. If i want to think hes unattractive, i can.
half the time, he sounded liked he was READING the lines. if you're going to act poorly in a shallow romance drama, at least be above average looking. i don't have to like Mr. Bean, but you can dear. That is your right and every else is entitled to like him. but i don't.
If you want to how colorism in Thailand will get you far in life, look at this guy. Hes a classic case of how rampant colorism is in Thailand. The fact that his character was allowed to make a racist comment and the fans of this show makes excuses for it. its appalling.
Watched up to episode 8 and right now I like Mo best as a character. I feel like I'm watching this only to see…
If Oat was a girl. he'd be seen as a homewrecker. Crazy how some fujoshis are actually attacking Mo when she's done nothing wrong. She met Pop first, not Oat.
I had to move on from this. After episode 18 I couldn't take it anymore. I don't know why they always put a woman…
I haven't liked Oat ever since he made that colorist comment about Pop's skin tone. Unlikeable character to the core.
i don't know how any self respecting thai person would paint themselves as inferior to half white people in a drama script like this.
How does it make sense for Oat to look down on dark skin people and then want to date them? Its bad writing. If someone made fun of my skintone, i'd kick him to the curb and never look back.
I'm sorry but this guy has an old grandpa face and he looks like Mr. Bean. his acting is just really bad and does not warrant a lead character role either. The actor they casted before Strong was a million times more handsome (both body and face!). A shame he dropped out.
Strong was probably handed the role because he's half white and Thailand worships half white people. Don't get me wrong, there are some handsome half white Thai actors like Nadech but in Thailand they almost always lower the beauty standards for half whites and don't do the same for regular Thai people. Its only because they have pale skin and are part european, that they're automatically considered "handsome/superior" and I think that is stupid as hell. He does not live up to the visual standard of the other actors on the show at all (but acting wise no one is good). His body is laughable compared to Mew's. Dropped the series completely because he made the show unbearable to watch along with the badly written script (of which, they had the nerve to make his character make fun of dark skin people while trying to make him fall in love with a tan skin guy, the f**king irony). Thailand is so colorist, its not even funny.

but this dark skin thai actress has no african ancestry at all and is made to be seen as a mixed thai person.
Thailand is so fucking colorist. They rather claim half whites over their own.

Stop normalizing/excusing racism. They didn't have to make fun of anyone's skin tone and quite frankly, that shit isn't funny.

and the lead actor is TERRIBLE. Can't act at all and looks like Mr. Bean's brother.
