i'm 95% Thai and i'm lighter than both Perth and Plan (two tan skin actors that you called "light skin" LMAO).

You literally just stereotyped that: all chinese people have light skin (false) , all native thai are tan skin (false), and "every single actor in thailand is a chinese person" (such a false statement). Native Thai people are not all dark skin and some of them (especially Lanna people and Isan people) are CHINESE PASSING (aka still not chinese at all, they just look chinese). Just like how a Viet person can be pure Viet and look chinese. Many Thai households are a mix of both light and tan skin and a majority have zero chinese blood in them (the Thai racial majority is admixture of Tai-Kadai/Austroasiatic). Chinese people represent less than 10 percent of the population (which means they are a MINORITY, but half whites are even more of a minority!) and are only concentrated in Bangkok. But seriously, I dare you to call a korean/japanese person "chinese" and try to not get slapped for being a racist asshat. All your information is derived from ignorant speculation/stereotyping and not from life experience. Like i said before, I don't expect a latino person like you to understand the dynamic of Thailand.

just because it happens all over the world, doesn't mean we should continue to accept such standards. Japan used to never have mixed beauty pageant representatives, but recently they have had half-black and half-indian Miss Universe winners.

Thailand to me, is the most blatant case. In africa, they at least have brown skin leads in their acting industry (a skin color that accurately represents their people)! The fact that Thailand is still behind Africa says alot. I want people who live in thailand to love their skin no matter what but unfortunately they are taught to hate their yellow or caramel skin color because of all the half white representation shown on their tv screens (half whites represent less than 1 percent of the population and do not reflect the country as a whole). We even have the same half white actors promoting skin bleaching clinic too.

Bottom line, we need to stop supporting the problem and start supporting a more accurate representation of the thai people. The majority of thai people are either Yellow or Caramel Brown.

This is considered the norm in Thai entertainment. To hire a bunch of half white actors that are VERY SUBPAR in acting over native thai. They don't do it for the sake of diversity either as they NEVER cast half black or half indian thai people. If they did that, i would have no complaints, but its clear as day that colorism is so blatant in the thai lakorn casting process.

Easily GMMTV's worst BL yet. They need to stop with the product placement, hire better actors, and get a more consistent plot. otherwise they're killing the hype they got off their only quality BL (Sotus First season) which made them attract a small yet supportive international audience.

I don't see why their BL's can't have more of a normal plot like straight couples do. Its infuriating that they can't get more creative.

Yaya's/Nadech's manner and behaviour got them famous? that is a false statement. They got famous because they're half european. So you're saying there are no black/indian mixed thai actors have the same manner and behaviour to be as famous as Yaya/Nadech and get handed lots of acting roles too?

i looked up "Poo Praiya" and it says shes half swedish. Also notice how you didn't list a single half black actress but proceeded to give out another half white name. This says it all really. You obviously can't deny that the acting field is heavily skewed with half european people like Mario Mauer, Kim Voltemas, Chompoo Araya, Sunny Suwanmethanon, Davika Hoorne etc. The huge amount of presence they have in Thai entertainment is ridiculous. The fact they are put into "full thai" roles and everyone says that they are a real representation of what Thailand is, is making a mockery of the thai people itself. Half european get TONS more representation (even though they represent less than 1 percent of the population) than every other non-asian mixed thai person. You can easily name a ton of half european actors but you can't say the same for half black/half indian/etc. You need to stop trying to distract people from the truth and accept that there is a colorism problem.

Southern Thailand actually represents Thailand the least in terms of population but even with that said, there are MILLIONS more Southern Thai people than Half Europeans in the country but the amount of half european actors/actresses in tv shows compared to the amount of tan skin Southern Thais actors in lead roles is WIDELY UNEQUAL. Half whites are over represented in ratio from media representation to the population of the ACTUAL COUNTRY! Southern Thai should get way more representation than half europeans but they don't and that is why this is proof that Thailand is a white worshiping colorist society.

And its still a fact that there are ZERO half african actors/actresses who get a lot of roles like Yaya and Nadech (who are already more famous than everyone in Thailand because they are half european). Thai Actors with two asian parents are not even as popular as Yaya and Nadech. This is a clear indicator of a colorist society. When you shun your own people, and put others with half european DNA on a "superior" pedestal, while ignoring other non-european half mixes. Where's the equality? Where's the accurate representation of the actual country? Half european represents less than 1 percent of the population but they are seen everyone in Thai entertainment media. And due to that kind of influence, you wonder why people end up with horrible skin conditions due to the skin bleaching craze. These same half white actors also promote skin bleaching clinics on their own IG's even. We need to have conversations like this to enact a change.

i don't know if you know this, but the new Miss Thailand Universe is getting bashed because shes a regular Thai asian and not half european like the last two MIss Thailand Universes. these are more examples of Thai's being self hating racists/colorist. That a half european person is seen as a better/accurate Miss Universe representation than a regular Thai.

there is also the fact they blatantly do blackface on television frequently. makes me believe that the Thai's still have a long way to go when it comes to getting more progressive and having better representation in media that reflects the actual population.

There was a tan skin FULL THAI actress named Maeya Thongleng who was forced to play a half-african/half-thai character, yet half-white like Strong are casted in full thai roles. Do you not see the double standards? Do you not see that they put half whites on a much higher pedestal that they can represent a full thai person, but a real thai person (with two asian parents) like Maeya has to play a "mixed thai" role because she has tan skin? That is horrible and it needs to change.

I say everyone has a right to speak out about this and make sure changes happen in the future. if they're going to hire half white, AT LEAST HIRE HALF BLACK/INDIAN/ETC. sorry but your post is full of lies and ignorance. We frequently have Miss Universe contestants that are half white and the top actors in this country (Nadech and Urassaya) are both half white. Any thai actor that has no european blood are not as famous as them. Its the truth.

Also i'm a light skin thai and i have only 3% chinese blood (according to DNA test). The rest is pure thai. Light skin thai people existed even before the chinese came. You ignorantly stereotyped because you're not from here and you're not an asian. Half the thai people are yellow and the other half are tan caramel/brown (some are even darker than this but they aren't a majority). We're a mix of BOTH SHADES. But half white thais aren't as yellow as "light skin native thai" or "chinese thai" and are usually pale like a normal white person.

Asians never get good representation in the western media, so why does Thailand still have to cater their media representation to western people? I could tolerate it in Sotus season 1 (as they didn't feel too out of place), but Season 2 was way too overbearing. Trying to promote that cheap ass cellphone in episode 1 and using krist's shower scene (useless to the plot, but good for our eyes) to promote a stupid shampoo. The plot got lost because of scenes like this.
