Title 2 Moons 2
I have to agree. I am also not too impressed with the new Wayo at the moment either. But I’ll guess we’ll…
well in the post that i read, the person who played Phana had negative reactions on his audition before he was casted. He got casted because of inside politics, not because the fans liked him.

Title 2 Moons 2
I just read an informative post about why the new Phana (Benjamin Brasier) got casted when he had zero support on facebook:

"And fyi the lead actor was cast because of INSIDE POLITICS. No one wanted him to be the lead. NO ONE!

There was a audition facebook page with pictures. His page had a lot of negative comments and thumbs downs (THIS WAS BEFORE HE WAS EVEN CAST!)

And are we shocked that hes half european and comes from a well off family? I think not. There is no such thing as a poor half european in thailand.

The people didn't want him, THE INDUSTRY DID!

If only they put as much effort into propping up half african people. they're a minority like half whites too but alas, different rules for different people."

So basically he got casted because classism and colorism reasons. yet again. Thailand is a screwed up country. Why do people who represent less than 1 percent of the Thai population get so many lead roles? And yet the same does not happen to half black thai? Its because half europeans are being cast for the wrong reasons and not because of diversity.

..The Thai people are wrong. I agree with people not thinking Strong was attractive, (at first) but even so..…
Well i don't think Thai people are wrong for having the opposite opinion.

personally i could never get into their story. It seemed so exaggerated and tacky. Especially with the way the relationship was created out of infidelity against Pop's girlfriend (It was like watching a side chick be a homewrecker and the audience seemingly rooting for a morally wrong thing just because its BL). Or how Pop is expected to fall in love after someone who made a colorist comment about his skintone?

When someone of european ancestry (Oat) goes and makes colorist comments, of course its going to look bad for thai fans who watch the show. Half the country is tan skinned. I wouldn't support a love story with a character who implied that white skin is superior.

They should honestly cast people for their acting (or looks at the very least) when it comes to shallow romance dramas. Strong has neither of those going on for him. In fact, everyone is saying he looks like Mr. Bean.

his casting is just another case of thailand's colorist/eurocentric casting standards.

Title Our Skyy
What is sad is that after Our Sky Pete Kao has a sequel to kiss series and Pick Rome have another series together…
Mork and Tee's series was a flop. They don't deserve a second season.
I hate to say it, but i don't think another season of this is happening. The first season flopped. No one cared about the main couple and a majority of thai people thought Strong was unattractive + bad at acting. Oreo has already left his role after realizing how much of a failure the show was. The only semi popular thing about the show was MewArt, but now that the two actors are on bad terms, a season two is even more unlikely than it already was.

Title My Dream
this series gives me that nostalgic feeling of watching chinese dramas from the 90's / early 2000's

PS: Tanai is hot!

Pond is a legend nd ur missing out
sorry but the character is not my taste. Too nosy, dramatic, and always talks in a irritating tone. The actor is no doubt good if he can make me annoyed lol.

Title My Dream
this was directed by the same guy who did the movies "Love's Coming" and "Love Love You"

he usually likes to cast uke's who are younger and shorter than the seme (most BL in thailand lately are always more ambiguous which i hate)

so i have high hopes for this. though idk if he has much experience directing a series (as opposed to movies)

Title 2 Moons
I don't know did you read the novels, but the cast totally fits characters: Wayo: short, sassy, not hot but adorable…
there were rumours that Bas might have gotten casted because he comes from an influential family. Most fans in thailand were against his casting and thought he was too overweight to accurately portray the character. They even made versions of the show where they would cut him out of the screen.

It is shocking that now people are going to miss him when the initial reaction to his casting was so negative (especially the hate from him getting the role unfairly over Newyear)

Are you Thai? this "white-worshiping colorist " is all over the world , not just preserved to Thailand or Asia.…
how am i overblowing it when all i am doing is stating a fact?

The ratio of half-european thai getting lead roles in tv shows is far higher than half-non-european thai getting anything. That is a statistical fact. You're not thinking logically at all.

and you were the one who engaged in this "argument" first by replying to my comment (knowing my opinion was different to yours). Instead of whining about "not wanting to bang my head against the wall", blame yourself for continuing to run your mouth. You wasted your own time

and what about the blackface on thai television shows or the fact that they are teaching that "dark skin is ugly" in thai schools?

I EVEN POSTED LINKS but you ignored them because they were the most damning evidence. Stuff that you couldn't even deny. You clearly have an agenda. That's why you continue to trivialize the situation and downplay it as much as you can. Its almost as if you don't want equal representation at all.

and fyi, its actually the tan skin women who are more discriminated out of being given LEAD ROLES. Half white actresses (who represent less than 1% of the population) have a better chance at getting a lead acting role than a native thai woman with tan skin. People who are half black or half indian have it even worse, they don't' even get to be casted in side roles. Thats the reality of the thai entertainment industry

I gave a negative opinion on his acting skills as well as staunchly debated other people's views and here you are acting like its a crime. Lol. You're so focused on demonizing me (for having a critical opinion) and framing everyone else as a victim. You called me a "racist" without ever holding a single conversation with me before. This is how I know you're a dummy account.

You obviously know there is a colorism problem. That's why you didn't refute a single thing I said about it. You have no leg to stand on so you attack my character instead of my valid viewpoints about colorism. Its proof that you know I'm right.

This being purposely obtuse and playing the victim act won't work with me. Its a deceptive/manipulative way to twist the narrative of me bringing light to colorism into something negative. You're MORE bothered about the PERSON telling people about the colorism problem in Thailand than you are with the actual colorism problem. Your priorities show where you really stand on the colorism issue.

notice how you didn't address any of the valid points i made.

its all about being obtuse and attacking my character instead.

"If you were truly serious about this issue you claim to care about, you would state your cause without resorting to slamming anyone who disagrees with you."

i barely interacted with you and you already stating that "i'm slamming anyone who disagrees with me". Excuse me but you slammed me first by calling me a "racist"

its obvious you're a dummy account of someone else. Its clear from the way you are talking.

so fighting for half indian and half black thai's to get more representation is "racism, hatred, and bigotry"?

half europeans are not added for diversity. they are added because of colorism ideals. They even teach these ideals in thai schools:

https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/vocabulary-chart-teaches-children-dark-skin-ugly/

if there was an equal amount of oversaturated media representation for other non-european half thai, i would not be saying a word right now. But there is a clear problem with the numerous amounts of half european in thai entertainment along side the fact that there are ZERO half black / half indian / half latino etc being given lead roles in the thai acting industry. Its sending a message to all non-white half thai mixes that they are less than because of their skin tone.

your attempt to slander me with those claims of "racism" shows you're being PURPOSELY OBTUSE to the blatant colorism problem in thailand. You know there is a colorism problem, its just that you don't care.

I cannot agree with you more. This year GMMTV did a disaster after another, I loved Sotus so much and many others…
they think that now that they have chinese people's money, they don't even have to try anymore. SMH.

i think i will give Gifted a shot (but as soon as i see instant ramen placement, i'm DROPPING!)
On 'Cause You're My Boy Sep 27, 2018
not surprised at the low rating.

I can't wait for the next GMMTV BL series where they promote more chinese cellphones and instant ramen instead of having an actual plot!

i really wish the GMMTV producers would take note of the international fans and their comments. They're literally killing the interest that Sotus made for them. More quality stories please! there are even japanese shonen ai manga they could make adaptations from

"Thai Chinese dominate the showbizz and many, maybe most,"

you just contradicted yourself from the moment you said Frank was chinese when he was not lol.

and now you changed it to "he looks chinese". Why don't you make up your mind already? Then you even say half white people look chinese when they clearly don't.

Its almost as if you think chinese passing thai people aren't even thai. You want to rob many thai people of an identity so you can have a bunch of half white people represent you in everything! ( acting, entertainment and beauty pagaents). it clearly shows.

This is all a way to waffle around the issue of not giving half indian or half black acting roles while you continue to make excuses for white worship in thailand. Sad. If you're going to cast a shit ton of half white people, then cast other half nonwhite thais too. Thats all i gotta say!

Chinese people at least look like people who live here (Lanna and Isan people especially!). Can't say the same for half whites can you? I know for sure i look more similar to a chinese person than Yaya or Nadech. Yet why are they the most popular actors/actresses in this country if they don't look asian? BECAUSE ITS CLEARLY COLORISM. Just like how Thai people do blackface on television and no one here condemns it. Its deplorable and it needs to change. We need to be casting less half white and more native thai who have caramel brown skin!

You can't even name a chinese thai actor more popular than Nadech and Yaya. This is how i know i'm right and you're wrong. Clearly you're not asian, so you don't understand.

"No one in Asia call themselves "yellow" as far as I know."

You're no longer worth addressing after telling this BLATANT LIE. Here is a video of non-western asian people calling themselves yellow!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNLACIAOJ4A

and the fact that you said that half white people look chinese, IS EVEN MORE RIDICULOUS.

Drake looks like an italian guy and Yaya + Nadech straight up look like white people. and ever see that Cindy chick (famous half thai model). Clearly does not look chinese either. You really call those people "asian" looking? I'm appalled you would use such faulty logic to defend colorism in Thailand.

You said Frank was chinese when in reality if you look at his parents, they clearly look like Tai speaking people descendants (his dad especially!). If you're going to pick an example of a thai chinese actor (like Nichkhun), at least be accurate hon.

Learn to tell the difference between a han chinese and a native thai please.

I'm tired of hearing your excuses at this point. Half whites are over represented in our entertainment media. And yes, you can argue that chinese people are in control of the wealth like every damn country here in Southeast Asia, but you can not deny the colorism at play when they cast people who represent less than 1 percent of the population (aka half european) and then proceed to never cast half indian or half black. Most people in Thailand are asian and do not have a white skin tone. We need more yellow and caramel brown skin tone (as well as other non-white half thai) representation in our entertainment industry and the fact that you are choosing to criticize me instead of helping your fellow thai get better representation is just sad. Chinese people do not represent less than 1 percent of the population like half whites do. Clearly you do not get that difference.

And the fact that you want to erase my identity as a yellow skin native thai by saying "anyone that has light skin in thailand is chinese" is racist on your part sir. I'm lighter than some tan skin chinese people and i never called them "Southeast asian/native thai" only because of their skin.
