I really dislike cutesy female characters, but Esther plays this one well. Plus, despite being cutesy, the character is obviously very smart and empathetic. She’s had to be rescued a few times by the male lead, but it hasn’t really been due to stupidity. I can easily see myself getting into similar situations and needing to be helped. Except maybe the flooding bathtub. I would shut off the water main myself.

This drama is reminding me so much of university because I got a degree in botany and did many drawings similar to the main lead. My favourite book back then was also The Alchemist.

I’m done for now as well. I’ll keep an eye on the comments and will watch if the comments intrigue me. Too ridiculous for me even though I usually have high tolerance to bad writing.

I’m trying to watch the ep now and I’m struggling. Really don’t like Donovan now. The show majorly tanked.

Total filler episode. So disappointed. I binged all the previous eps last weekend and was excited for this week. Made it even more of a letdown.

That preview for ep 12 doesn’t seem like a final episode. I don’t watch many Thai dramas, so do they sometimes extend a series beyond the planned episodes?

I really don’t like Pam’s mom. She’s so screechy, irrational and selfish. Made the show very soap opera-ish. I was enjoying it otherwise.

Like when they first saw each other, I was thinking that In was thinking of Siam because Wang probably looks like him and Wang was thinking of the guy in his parents’ pictures.

I’ll hope for a breakup, Wang travelling for a few years and a time jump to a happy reunion, but a sad ending is more likely. There’s definitely some secret between In and Siam.

So much filler in each episode. I really don’t care about the trainees and I don’t get the little girls at the studio. Are they just there for cuteness?

This made me cry. Good for a mini drama. This format probably works better for a fantasy such as this because all the crazy things don’t seem so ridiculous. The acting and chemistry of the leads were surprisingly good.

It’s not that bad for one of these short dramas. I don’t hold them up to high standards since they’re low budget and you can’t do much with this format. It kept me from boredom.

I’m on episode 6 and I keep thinking about how stinky hockey players and their equipment are (am Canadian and been around them). I just watched the scene where Li Yu Bing puts Tang Xue in a headlock and my nose was wrinkled up the whole time. The hockey scenes also make me roll my eyes.

Sorry I rarely watch costume dramas. I have a hard time with the number of episodes plus all the scheming and plotting.

I started this a long time ago on YouTube. Got frustrated with the story and YouTube and dropped the series. Recently signed up for WeTV and picked this up at ep14. I realized that I skipped a few episodes, but I decided to keep going. I ended up bingeing to the end and enjoying the series. The only things that really annoyed me were the manipulative females (old friend and stepmom). I loved the turtle. Probably won’t rewatch, but I’ll likely watch season 2.

They have many sweet scenes together, but the male character doesn’t try to confess his love until Ep22. However, it goes wrong somehow and that happens a few times over several episodes. The actual confession doesn’t happen until Ep31 although they already act like a couple before this happens. There aren’t any breakups or misunderstandings since they were good friends first, but they do spend long periods of time apart due to their responsibilities. There aren’t any love triangles because they’re focused on their responsibilities and each other. They unfortunately don’t have a quiet peaceful life together until the very last episode. When the series ends, Yang Yang’s character only has another 10 years to live; however, I choose to believe that they eventually found a way to give him a normal lifespan.

I just watched that episode and cried so much even though I saw a spoiler a long time ago. Did Fenxi really have to lose everyone except Lanxi? Plus Han Pu was so very young.

Finally finished this after delaying watching the last 2 episodes. I wasn’t ready to let go of the show because I loved it so much. I don’t usually watch historical dramas and 40 episodes is hard for me, but I love the lead characters and the performances of the leads. I’m a fan of both Yang Yang and Zhao Lusi and they exceeded my expectations. The rest of the cast was also very good. The overall story kept me interested, but it’s definitely the chemistry of the leads that kept me eagerly anticipating each week.

I’d like a stepson like him. We’d get along so well.
