I think one important point that needs to be highlighted here is that in the old days production companies had the incentive to prolong the dramas because they earned primarily through tv ads. And once you get a captive audience you're incentivized to have 50 or even 100 episodes so that you get good revenue for a long time from advertisements. Tbh I don't understand the business model of ott platforms making 50,60 episode drama unless it becomes so popular that it brings like 1000s of subscriptions. I don't think they hv the budget to make 50 eps,it will be a huge bet with very low success rate. It will be much more economical to just buy the rights if something becomes popular

Jcw should definitely have an ongoing relationship with Netflix, even though he's being paid very well by disney and having a good relationship there. There's no denying that netflix is the no. 1 ott currently atleast from an international perspective
