I can actually understand the need to create a fake country, with the way thing are and how sensitive people are to war countries, it will create too many controversies. Case in point - because of the 3 seconds in When the phone rings - everyone mass-downvoted the drama.
She says A Zan. If they put A before the surname is a form of familiarity and endearment.
I guess this depends on which country you're from. I'm in Canada and most time in forms - It's First name and Last name (Surname). Given name usually consist of First and Middle/alternate names. I'm Chinese and familiar with the generation character since my sister and I have the same first character of our given name. Some of my cousins have the same last character of their given name. I don't think there is a right or wrong way of naming.
Funny though, my sister usually go by 'Ah 1st character' and I usually go by 'Ah 2nd character' even though my name has the 1st character as well but everyone who know us know who they are referring to when they call the 1st character.

I agree with the not separating the 2 syllables of the given name with a space. I never do with my name. It got confusing when people thought it was my middle name.

haha yes! When I think about it, Chinese has so many ways of calling someone. You can use their full name ( I always find this weird since In English, no one uses their full name all the time), one character of the given name with ah in front, both characters of the given name, using old/young in front of their surname, using son/daughter after the given name, repeating one of the character of the given name, like Jing Jing. Too many to count lol

I get what you're saying but that's not correct. In Western standard, the middle name is optional but not the same as Chinese name. For eg, Mary Alice Smith, Alice is the middle name and you can just introduce yourself as Mary Smith but you can't do that with Chinese name. Bai Jing Ting, you can't leave out any part of the Given name. It would not be the same so you can't classify Ting as the same as middle name.
When filling out a form, first name is my 2 characters, I leave the middle name blank because I do not want my id card to be missing a character. I also put no space on my given name so people don't make that mistake on my id.

I know. I'm Chinese. In Chinese, it's Surname firstname and English, it's Firstname Surname. Firstname can be 1 or 2 characters. I have 2 in mine but the second character is not considered middle name.
Tell me about it. I have been a fan of all the performances that I have seen of her. I blame the direction. While…
I think you nailed it. That's exactly what I was looking for - LZ and SR don't look battle hardened enough. Like they are inexperienced rookies, instead of 'they have seen and been through so much of this war zone'.
I would have no issue with her behaviour if the SML's feeling for her was reciprocated. I think that's the difference.…
Agree there is no growth in the princess, even in the latter eps, it was all me, me, me. She was still forcing him to do menial work for her by threatening him with telling the Jun father about harboring them. She was still the spoiled and entitled princess towards the end, and hence the difference between her and the possessive MLs. They usually have some redeeming quality and sacrificing themselves or character development in the latter part whereas there was no growth with this princess. That's why I find it really hard to rally for them together.
Not sure why they changed her character to this if her character in the book is different. She seems so incompetent and nervous around him, it's really hard to watch. I can understand a 16 years old with her first crush but a grown woman who happens to be a reporter acting this way is really off putting. I'm going to give it a few more episodes and see if it gets better.
I'm just on ep 2 and I'm not sure I like Liang Jie's acting here. She always seems to be spaced out or day dreaming. Is that how her character supposed to be? I thought being a reporter, should be alert and aware of the situation, not being love sick and melancholy all the time.
I need to talk about the princess! Why is everyone hating on her? Yes, yes, she's been very "annoying" and obsessive,…
I would have no issue with her behaviour if the SML's feeling for her was reciprocated. I think that's the difference. It feels like she was forcing him ALL the time and treating him like her property. The ML behaves similar to the FL, that he was possessive but we all can see she also has feeling for him and not one sided and that's what makes it different for me.
The princess gets on my nerves so much! There's a little thing called consent, which she obviously has never heard…
Yes agree with this. She treats him like her property/ slave and I don't think her attitude has changed throughout the drama. I don't think there was any time she asks him what he wants or think about what is important to him. When you actually care/love the person, you put their needs before yours.
